The Alpha Stepbrother’s Temptation

The drive was quiet, I said nothing to her while I was sulking on my seat and she said nothing to me. Her hands were clenched tight on the steering wheel.

“So you’re not going to say anything? Why are you acting this way!” She snapped.

“Why?” I asked, breaking the prolonged silence. “I just found out that you are getting married! And now we are leaving the pack, it only seems as if we are running away!” I said at the top of my voice.

“And you?” She asked.

“You were expelled from school, Eris. No other school in the pack could accept you, you’re in your 12th grade!” She hit her fist on the wheel and exhaled. “And you hid that from me, if I hadn’t called the school to ask about you, and they told me you got expelled, I would have never known.”

“That’s different.” I rolled my eyes.

“How?”

“You are getting married to someone that I had no idea of and now we are leaving the pack.”

“We don’t have a choice. You need to go to school somewhere else, and the pack will accept us.”

“Which pack?”

“You will find out when we get there, we just have to leave Heather Pack, and I will be free from working at the pack house, and we can get a life, Eris. A life away from Heather Pack.” She glanced at me, and I kept quiet, biting my lower lip.

“Do you love him?”

“Why did you get expelled from school, the last thing I want from you is to ruin your life, I’ve ruined mine, Eris, and I don’t want that to happen to you. I want you to graduate from high school, go to college, and behave like a normal teenager. That’s what I want from you.”

“So we are running away,” I mumbled and glanced at the window, I heard her sniffed,

“I’m getting married, and you’ll get to love him. Your new father.”

“I don’t need one!” I yelled, glaring at me.

“He’s different.” Her voice came out low. I don’t even know if she was certain about her own words.

“They are all the same.” I gritted out and turned away from her again.

The ride became quiet again, and I was trying to gather up my thoughts.

“The ride to the Pack is about two hours, you can get some rest, we still have a…”

I took my AirPods from my bag, and placed them in my ear. I didn’t want to hear her voice or anything. I sunk down on the seat, and listened to a random song.

She noticed I wasn’t going to talk to her, and said nothing else, we never said a word to each other until we got to the Pack.

We had gone through border checkpoints, Mom had to stop the car, we came out and they searched us, she showed them a card pass, they bowed to her, and allowed us into the pack.

And it read Welcome To Winterfall Pack.

“We are here, honey. You’re going to love it here, I promise.” She said when she stopped the car after another drive of about forty-five minutes into the pack.

I stared at the gate of the black mansion ahead of us, staring right back at me like some sort of a prison house.

The gate opened, and she drove in.

A man was pacing outside, he looked a bit anxious, he was around six feet three, and had a muscular build. His hair was brown, and he had fine features. He stopped pacing when he noticed Mom’s car, his brown eyes which seemed to match his hair, narrowed down at us.

I huffed.

She had a weird taste in men.

Slowly, his lips stretched into a smile when he saw Mom.

“Vale.” I heard him call, and Mom came out of the car, she went to him, and he took her into his arms. I made a disgusted face, taking my AirPod off my ear. I jumped out of the car and went to get my bag from the booth.

“You must be Eris.” His voice was calm, he didn’t seem like he was stressing or forcing anything.

“I’m Alpha West.”

I halted and spared him a glance. He had an awkward smile on his face, Mom was in his arms, her hand on his chest.

“This is Alpha West, Eris, he’s going to be your new father.”

I grounded my teeth, didn’t say a word, and pulled out my bag from the booth.

“Ocean, why don’t you give her a hand, and show her to her room, I don’t want the maid to do that. I want you to feel safe around here….” He turned to Mom. “How was your ride? It was tiring wasn’t it, you should have let me come get you with the chopper.”

Mom chuckled. “That would have created a scene, I wanted to leave Heather Pack quietly, I don’t want anyone to know that we were gone.” Mom replied, her hands had gone around his neck.

He lowered himself to kiss her.

Eww.

“Can you not do that in front of me?” I slammed the car booth hard and turned to move, when I saw a tall figure, almost as tall as Alpha West. He was 6’ft 5. Brunette curly hair, athletic body, his thin lips held a smirk, he had these hunter eyes with a gray color. His arms were folded on his chest, white shirt and gray pants.

“Ocean, help her with a bag.” West instructed, and he broke the eye contact, and cleared his throat, he stretched out his hand towards me. “Ocean West.”

I scoffed, and walked past him, brushing him off with my shoulders.

I walked ahead of them towards the front door, and Mom came after me.

“Eris, be nice, they are your new family.”

“No, Mom, they are your family!” I pointed it out to her.

“I will show her to her room.” Ocean interrupted, he had this amusing smirk on, and Mom patted his back.

“Come on Iris.”

I gritted my teeth at him. “It’s Eris.”

He gave me a smirk and pushed the front door open. I followed him quietly, even when he took the stairs, and down the hallway.

He stopped in front of a door, painted with pink.

I rolled my eyes at the color. “We didn’t know what you like, so we prepared this…” He opened the door, and the walls were all pink like I was some Disney Pink Princess.

The bed was big and comfy, the wardrobe was filled with clothes, I could tell they were expensive.

A dressing mirror, table, the frame on the wall. It was nothing like the one apartment room we lived in, in Heather Pack.

I guess Mom really did hit big, getting entangled with an Alpha.

“So Iris…I will see you around. I’m a bit busy, everyone is preparing for the mating ritual, it will be a full moon soon.”

He took a step closer to me, lowering himself to my height. “I can see that you’re hiding something, I wonder what that is…”

“Go away.” I hissed at him.

“Your mom was right, she said you will be difficult.” He nodded. “But I don’t think you can avoid me.”

I took a step back, and crossed my arms. “Heard you got expelled from school, I think you might have a problem fitting into my school but you have me, little sister.”

“Don’t call me that.”

He chuckled, showing off perfect straight teeth. He took another step closer, but his back was still hunched. “I’m older than you.”

He smiled now, flirtatiously one. “You’re eighteen.”

“You're not eighteen yet are you?” I asked.

“I’m eighteen today.”

“You sound like you know me, have you seen me before?” His face searched my eyes for answers as if he had kept them there.

I smirked. “Ocean West, a hockey player of Winterfall High School, 12 grade, won for the national team, he was seventeen.”

He chuckled, the amusing look came back on his face. “You played against my school.” I muttered, and a moment there was silence, he just stared at me.

A knock came through, and he pulled away from me, Alpha West stood beside the door. “I wanted to see if you’re settling in…”

Ocean moved away from me and straightened himself.

“We are having a little party for Ocean’s birthday, I hope you can come downstairs later. He clocked eighteen today.”

“I’m tired, and I don’t think I can.” I glanced at him. “Happy Birthday, Ocean.”

He nodded curtly, and I started to unpack my stuff.

“We’ll be downstairs if you need anything.” Alpha West added.

I nodded. “Sure.”

I just need them to get out.

They got the message and left the room, I slumped on my bed, and sighed, I held onto the pillow, and stared at the ceiling, this was another path I wasn’t ready for.

I heard the sound of some music, when I opened my eyes, it wasn’t loud, but I heard it directly above my head.

I groaned and stood up from the bed. I was still in my clothes from earlier, I came out of the room, I needed to get some water.

I had to find my way down to the kitchen, the light was turned off, I flipped it, and saw Ocean making out in the kitchen with a blonde.

She dropped her skirt when she saw me, I stared boredly at them.

“Hey, sis,” Ocean smirked, his lips were red from her lipstick, they must have been smashing each other's faces.

I walked past them, and grabbed a bottle of water from the fridge, and headed out. He blocked my path. “Can you not tell anyone, you can join the party, my dad and your mom aren't home.”

I nodded nonchalantly. “Can you stay away from me? I don’t give a fuck about you or the things that you do. I don’t care, brunette.” I shoved him out of my way but his hand went above my head, trapping me in the wall against him. He lowered his head to my neck, and I could feel his breathing against it.

“We’ll see about that, Iris.”
