Funeral

I went to the closet with my grandma to pack my bags. I packed light since I wouldn't be staying there for a long time.

Henry and Kyle looked devastated to see me leave, but they promised they'd visit me soon. They each hugged me tightly and opened the car door for me.

Ael and Beth called to check on me during my car ride to the Onxy Moon pack. We have kept in touch these five years, and we are still good friends. When my family came to visit me monthly, they did too.

" How dear feel deary," My grandpa asks.

" I'm sad,"

" Your Dad is in a better place, reunited with your mom," he said with a smile. I nodded. He was right. Dad was with Mom now.

As we approached the pack gates, anticipation bubbled in my stomach, and I felt nervous. I had to remind myself that I was no longer weak constantly. I wouldn't let anyone bully me or talk down on me. I was a chosen warrior wolf, a once-in-a-generation blessed. I was my father's true daughter.

' Hayes and Zylon will be there. They are alphas of the pack,' Ria reminded quietly. Our alpha died five years ago, a month after I left, and Hayes and Zylon were forced to become alpha immediately. And from what I hear, they are doing a great job and have made this pack one of the strongest.

' No one knows of our bond, and I hope it stays that way. I want nothing to do with them,'

My grandma observed me throughout the trip. She suspected I ran away because of a boy, but I didn't confirm her suspicions.

" If anyone tries something with you. I'll poison them or gouge out their eyes," she said calmly. My grandpa looked mortified but didn't say anything. I managed a smile and thanked her.

Reaching home, I exited the car, and my grandparents looped their arms with mine as we headed inside. My wolf's strong sense of hearing and smell made me hear soft chatter from inside, and most importantly, I smelled two familiar scents that made my wolf and me wince. I stood for a moment on the threshold of the great room. I spotted Mom talking with the former Luna, Maggie. She was always kind to me. We stepped inside, and my mom stood abruptly and ran to embrace me.

" Mom," I whispered, holding back my tears. Tate joined in the hug, too. They finally released me, and Luna Maggie hugged me, offering her condolences as my brother and mom greeted my grandparents. Even though they are my biological mother's parents, they got along well, and I was thankful for that.

" Is that acne Rue? Is she ... hot?" I heard Begonia's annoying voice.

" She's freaking gorgeous!" Mary whisper yelled.

" I saw her pictures on Tate's phone, but I thought they were edited or something," Cindy said. I should have known she'd be here today. I honestly don't know why Tate was still dating her when he's so kind, and she's mean. And to be honest, she wasn't as pretty as she thought she was.

" Ruby," Cindy approached me. I groaned and gave her my back, but she still hugged me. " I'm just devasted about what happened to Archie," she cried. I pulled away from her.

" Yeah,"

" By the way, you look amazing. All your acne is gone, and you got rid of those big glasses-" I raised a hand in her face,

" Don’t,” I said ant turned to face Mom.

I had actively ignored looking at Hayes and Zylon since I arrived, even though their gaze burned my skin. I knew I shouldn't hide, and I wasn't. I didn't want to give them my attention. However, I was in the kitchen, sitting on the island, as I wanted some time away from everyone when I felt their presence. My stomach lurched. I steadied my heart and pulled my face to be neutral.

" Hello, Ruby Rue," a deep, sensual voice said. Zylon. I stood up and turned to face my mates. My heart stopped. Time had been good to them. They were even more handsome, if possible. They seemed taller than they were five years ago, and they filled up in a way that made me swallow. Hayes' strong jaw was covered by a light stubble. We said nothing for a moment.

" We are sorry for your loss. Your father was a great man," Hayes said in a deep voice. I was hesitant to speak. I didn't know how to answer that, so I nodded slightly. My gaze looked between them, void of emotion, and they stood very still, their heated gaze piercing through me.

" Excuse me," I attempted to leave, but Zylon held my wrist. The sparks that shot through my arm surprised me and him. I took my hand back,

" Don't touch me," I almost growled. I didn't ever want them to.

" I know you hate us, but we are still mates. You shouldn't avoid us," Hayes said. Avoid? I planned to stay the fuck away from them.

" I'm not avoiding you. I don't want to speak or look at you," I growled and left the room. I went upstairs and took a bath. When I left the tub, Beth and Ael were in my room. They hugged me tight for a long time, and I cried when I saw my friends.

The following morning was the day of my father's burial. I wore black low-rise jeans, an off-shoulder top, and boots.

A driver drove us to the cemetery, packed with the pack's high-ranking members, some visiting alphas, and top warriors of the realm. My father was popular. It was a lovely send-off ceremony, but I was emotional.

The following days were a blur and fast. I was in my home, the house I grew up in, but my Dad wasn't there. His will was simple. He left his estate to me and Tate and wrote us very touching letters. In my letter, he reminded me how much he loved me. He said I should be brave and always follow my gut. He knew what happened and why I left the pack, but I shouldn't be scared to love. He also warned me to be wary of evil, that my kind of wolf will attract power-hungry creatures. I had just finished reading his letter when I walked towards the tall window of my bedroom, in the shadow, just in the woods, something was watching me, something, or someone with golden eyes.

Ruby"Zylon, it's good to see your face," I said, locking gazes with him. In that moment, it felt as if the rest of the world faded away, leaving just the two of us. Zylon's large, warm hands gently cradled my face. "Thank you for accepting the mate bond. We will strive every day to be worthy of you," his voice deep and sincere.I nodded, "Be honored, because I'm willing to give this a try. Just don't mess it up," I replied, a playful smirk dancing across my lips. His blue eyes twinkled with joy, and he leaned down to press a tender kiss to my forehead. A rush of warmth spread through me. I couldn't help but blush; the simple gesture felt sweetly intimate. "We won't," he replied firmly. His gaze flicked over to his twin, who nodded his head in silent agreement. The pack house was enormous, with more than fifty rooms. The twin alphas had the entire fifth floor to themselves, which was characterized by elegant furnishings and an expansive balcony that offered breathtaking views of the

Hayes"I think she misses seeing you. Why aren't you meeting with her?" I asked my brother. He's been 'busy' and avoiding our mate, but Ruby definitely misses him, even if she won't admit it. "Asia is back, and I froze. I just need time to think. Everything that happened keeps replaying in my head. It's crazy," he said, sadness clear in his expression. "We should have banned her from the pack, as Dad wanted," I growled, feeling anger simmering in my blood. "No, Mom would be heartbroken, Hayes. Besides, it wasn't a big deal… right?" Zylon seemed deep in thought, trying to convince himself it wasn't serious, but I could see it was weighing heavily on him. "It was. Look at you, Zylon. Will you tell Ruby about it?" Horror spread across his face as he shook his head slowly. "No, Hayes. I don't want to, and can we drop it?" I nodded and told him that our mate has been coming around more. I was shocked earlier in the night at the pub when she said she was accepting the bond. However, I

  • The Alpha Twins; My Mates   A Duel

I changed into my training clothes and headed to the field, where Hayes was waiting for me. He frowned as he looked me up and down, disapproval evident on his face. For today's training, I wore the high-rise shorts and matching sports bra that Beth had gifted me from a brand she worked with."Like what you see, Alpha?" I smirked."I do, very much, but I don't appreciate all my men seeing you like that. Only we should," he replied, glancing at the men surrounding us. Hayes glared at them, and they quickly lowered their gazes."Let's do this," I said, positioning myself in a fighting stance. I had overslept, and he had come to fetch me for training. During our walk to the field, he kept complaining about my refusal to move in with them. Tate suggested a bet: we would duel, and whoever lost would grant the winner's wish. Hayes was strong, but I had my advantages against him. In fact, I had a secret weapon that would ensure I could pin him down for five seconds. I felt confident about

Hayes gently grasped my hand, bringing it to his lips for a soft, lingering kiss that sent a warm flutter racing through my heart. I could feel the warmth of his touch. I momentarily lost myself in the moment. 'Your heart is drumming so loud, I'm sure he can hear it,' Ria said. I tried to keep my emotions in check. I distracted myself from his intense gaze by glancing around the crowd, searching for Zylon. He was nowhere to be found, leaving a sense of unease in the pit of my stomach."Where's Zylon?" I asked as he led me to the bar area inside. People moved aside, either intimidated by him or showing respect. The werewolves bowed their heads as we passed."One twin isn't enough for you, love?" he smirked. His playful tone broke through my apprehension."No," I said. Upon reaching the bar, he suddenly grabbed my waist and hoisted me onto a stool."A Long Island iced tea, please," I told the waiter. "Coming up, beautiful," he winked. Hayes tightened his hands around my waist and kiss

"Wrong number," the voice said softly before hanging up. I watched my phone for a while, hearing Beth ask if I was alright. I just nodded. Wrong number.Ael and Joe showed up to pick me up at 5:30 PM. "YOU LOOK HOT, GIRLS!" Joe shouted. We did a quick twirl for them.Ael looked effortlessly charming in a snug white t-shirt that highlighted his toned muscles and slacks. His recent buzz cut gave him a fresh appearance. Joe opted for an all-black sleek ensemble. His sandy blonde hair was styled neatly. "You cut your hair, Ael. You look even more handsome," I said as we entered the car."Just trying something new," Ael grinned."I love it," Beth added. As I fastened my seatbelt, I said, "You look great." He started driving from the driveway to the main road. I hoped Hayes and Zylon would show up at the venue.Connect was located just on the outskirts of the pack. The outdoor classy pub was alive with energy. After we received our colorful stamps, we went through a wooden gate and found a

  • The Alpha Twins; My Mates   Staying For Good

I tried calling Henry back, but his phone was off. I will try to call again tomorrow, I thought. I felt a wave of fatigue wash over me. I quickly showered and then succumbed to a long, much-needed nap. When I finally stirred awake, it was already thirty minutes past four. I went straight to the kitchen.Granny was already bustling about, her apron tied neatly around her waist as she prepared for dinner. The rich aroma of herbs filled the air, instantly making my stomach rumble. "Can I help?" I asked, my voice filled with enthusiasm as I stepped into the warm kitchen. She turned to me, eyebrows raised in a mixture of surprise and curiosity. "You want to help?" she asked slowly, gauging me.I nodded eagerly, and a grin spread across my face. Cooking had always been a bit of a mystery to me. Despite my enthusiastic attempts, I had never quite mastered the art. "Okay, start peeling the potatoes," she ordered. I rushed to do that. I struggled with the peeler. Grandma watched me intently,
