I ran all the way to my dorm, my lungs burning, heart hammering against my ribs like it wanted to escape my chest. The blood on my hands felt like it was burning through my skin, marking me as guilty even though I'd done nothing wrong.

I burst through the door, thanking the Moon Goddess that my roommates were still at the party. The bathroom. I needed to get to the bathroom.

My hands shook as I turned on the faucet, watching the water run clear for a moment before I thrust my blood-stained hands under the stream.

I pumped soap into my palms, scrubbing frantically. Under my nails. Between my fingers. Up my wrists where drops had splattered. The metallic scent mixed with lavender soap, making me gag.

"It's going to be okay," I whispered to my reflection, but the girl staring back at me looked terrified, her blue eyes too wide, her face pale as death. "It's going to be okay. You didn't do anything wrong."

When I saw Seraphina, my heart literally cut into two. Indirectly, I was the cause of the death of nearly all of her family. She didn't bring up the topic of her mom and brother's deaths. Maybe she was here when the incident happened and she hasn't been informed yet. Good. I intended to steer clear of her, and I needed to boost my rankings fast. I didn't want her using that over me.I didn't even know how to boost my ranking. I should probably ask my friends. They saw me walking towards them, concern written all over their faces."What happened?" they asked in unison. Sabrina grab my hair."She toyed with your hair!" Sabrina exploded. "I can't believe that bitch Seraphina toyed with your hair. I mean, only a hot six-foot-eight guy should do that, you know? Like when he grabs your hair and pulls you close and—""That's okay," Helione interrupted, shooting Sabrina a look."I should go to the dorm," I said, suddenly exhausted from the confrontation."Stay a bit," they pleaded. "The party

I couldn't believe my eyes when I saw her standing there among the other students. Aurora. After everything that happened, after her boyfriend nearly killed me, after spending months in a coma fighting for my life, seeing her face again was like being punched in the gut. What the hell was she doing here?My hands clenched into fists at my sides. The rage that had been simmering inside me for months suddenly boiled over. This bitch was the reason I'd lost everything. Arthur. If that monster was still around, I needed to be careful. The memory of his eyes burning with fury as he stabbed me with a knife, was still fresh in my mind. He was a demon in wolf's skin, and I wanted nothing to do with crossing him again.Still, it wouldn't hurt to talk to her, right? Maybe figure out what she was doing in this place.I watched her from across the party, laughing with those three girls like she didn't have a care in the world. I sauntered over to them, forcing my expression into something plea

"Stay close!" Sabrina shouted over the music, grabbing my hand. But within five minutes of arriving, I'd already lost them. Helione had spotted someone she knew. Sabrina disappeared toward the makeshift dance floor. And suddenly I was alone in a sea of strangers.I navigated toward what appeared to be a drinks table set up along one wall. Red cups were stacked in pyramids, surrounded by bottles and cans. I grabbed what looked like beer, and took a huge gulp. The bitterness exploded across my palate. I barely managed to swallow before coughing, sputtering, and spitting the rest back into the cup."Damn, beers are bitter!" I gasped, staring at the offending beverage like it had personally betrayed me. "Who the hell drinks this?"A couple nearby laughed at my reaction. Okay. This was fine. I was at a party. A real party. Without an overprotective Alpha hovering over my shoulder, threatening to murder anyone who looked at me wrong. This was my chance to be normal. To be a regular girl doi

After Rachel finished that humiliating display, I whirled on her. "What was that for?"She looked at me like I'd asked why the sky was blue. "You didn't read the orientation materials?""What orientation materials?""When you're accepted to the school, they send you an orientation handbook along with your textbooks. It explains everything - the rules, the ranking system, how points work."I groaned. "I thought those were just, you know, normal textbooks. Who reads textbooks before school even starts?"Rachel's expression shifted from surprise to something almost like pity. "Oh, Aurora. This school isn't like any other school. It has what I'd call a ranking system." She paused, choosing her words carefully. "As a newbie, you get one week of immunity with one hundred percent full points. What you choose to do with those points will determine your entire life here.""What do you mean?"She gestured toward the window where we could see into a common area. A group of impeccably dressed stu

The Mercedes-Maybach S-Class glided through the iron gates of Moonhaven Rehabilitation Center, gravel crunching beneath its tires. I pressed my face against the tinted window, taking in the sprawling estate that would be my home for the next several months.Arthur's hand found mine across the leather seat. "You don't have to do this if you're not ready.""I need to," I said quietly, watching as the main building came into view. "I can't keep living without my memory, I have to find out who I am ."The car rolled to a stop in the circular driveway. Arthur's security detail pulled up behind us in two black SUVs, engines purring before falling silent. As I stepped out, the late afternoon sun warmed my face, and I took a deep breath of air that smelled like pine and fresh-cut grass. The main building rose three stories, built from honey-colored stone that glowed golden in the light. Ivy climbed its western wall, deep green against the warm stone. Large"You know," I said, turning to Arthu
