Aria Blackwood....
The morning of my nineteenth birthday didn’t start with flowers or music. It started with mud, dirty smelling, sticky mud ewwwwwww. I groaned as I dragged another bucket of water from the well behind the training grounds. My arms ached from the weight of the bucket. My shoulders were screaming in protest, but I gritted my teeth and kept going. When I finally dumped it into the wooden trough, icy water splashed up, soaking my boots. "fuckkkk!!" I half yelled I hate my life It wasn’t glamorous work, but someone had to do it. And more often than not, that someone was me. I was meant to be training by now, but here I was caked in mud, on my birthday. Around me, the pack’s warriors trained hard, their grunts and laughter filling the air. Wooden swords clashed against each other, and the training ground smelled like sweat. A few of the warriors glanced in my direction, smirks curling on their lips. “Beta’s daughter, huh?” one of them whispered, loud enough for me to hear. “More like the pack maid.” The others chuckled, laughing loudly like huge assholes that they are. Heat pricked my cheeks, but I didn’t look up. I’d heard it all before. Yes, I was Jonathan Blackwood’s daughter, the Beta of the Stormfang Pack. But that didn’t mean I was treated like royalty. If anything, it seemed to mean I was expected to work twice as hard and prove myself just to earn a scrap of respect. I wasn’t the strongest wolf. I wasn’t the prettiest. I wasn’t the kind of girl who turned heads. I was just… Aria. my wolf was very small and white, small meant weak, white meant weak, I had to work hard to prove myself everytime in the pack even if my dad was pretty important. Selene, my wolf, stirred inside me, her voice firm. “Ignore them. They only mock what they cannot control or understand." A small smile tugged at my lips. Selene always believed in me, even when no one else did, even when i didn't believe in myself Still, the sting lingered. I carried the empty bucket back toward the well, trying to shake off their mocking stares. “Still fetching water, Aria?” I froze. That voice. When I turned, Serena Hale was standing a few feet away, her arms crossed, a smug smile playing on her perfect lips. Her blonde ponytail swished as she tilted her head to stare at me. Serena was tall, curvy, and confident — the kind of she-wolf who commanded attention the second she walked into a room, her wolf was big for a female and grey, signifying power. And she knew it. “Don’t you ever get tired of acting like the pack’s servant?” she asked sweetly, her tone dripping with mockery. I tightened my grip on the bucket. “Someone has to do it. Unless you’d rather train in your own stink.” Her smile faltered, her blue eyes narrowing. A couple of nearby warriors snickered at my comeback. Serena’s gaze hardened. She stepped closer, lowering her voice so only I could hear. “Careful, Beta’s girl. You may think being Jonathan’s daughter gives you a shield, but trust me — nobody will save you if you push too far.” Then, without warning, she kicked the bucket, sending water splashing on my skirt. Cold seeped into the fabric, clinging to my legs. Laughter rippled around us. Selene growled inside me. “Don’t take that.” My own anger boiled over. “At least I don’t need to throw myself at all the warriors just to get noticed,” I snapped. Gasps erupted. Serena’s eyes widened in fury. Before I could brace myself, she lunged, fingers digging into my arm. Pain flared in my poor arm, I cried out and stumbled and hit the ground hard. The training field went silent and then cackled with laughter, my cheeks were flaming red and Serena smirked at me “Alpha Damien won’t tolerate weakness. Just wait, Aria. You'll be leaving this pack very soon to join the rogues" she said Her words chilled me to the bone, but I refused to show fear. I turned away,my jaw clenched, and picked up the bucket again. My hands trembled slightly, though I prayed no one noticed. "Today is your nineteenth birthday maybe you'll find a mate who is as weak as you" she said I rolled my eyes, Serena was 20 without a mate yet she was here throwing shades at me I laughed a little inside.. She sneered at me and walked away By the time I trudged home, the sun was going down, and my clothes were sticking to my skin. Our pack’s territory stretched wide — endless forests, clear rivers, and the grand pack house that loomed tall in the center like a fortress. Our own home was smaller, tucked closer to the riverbank. Cozy, but humble for a Beta family. When I got inside, the scent of herbs and stew tickled my nostrils. My mother, Clara, moved gracefully around the kitchen, her auburn hair tied back, her green eyes soft when they landed on me. “You’re late,” she said, dishing the stew into bowls. “Training ran long?” I hesitated. “Something like that.” She looked at me with a knowing look, but she didn’t press. She never did. My mother always sensed when Serena had tried to bully me again. “Sit and Eat,” she said gently. I obeyed, even though I wasn't hungry. My mind had drifted to my birthday celebration tonight at the pack house. It was the night everything was supposed to change. The night I would feel the bond of my mate. Selene purred in my mind. “He’s out there. Waiting for us.” A nervous laugh bubbled in my throat. Who would it be? A warrior? Someone kind? Someone who would finally make me feel like I belonged? Or worse… someone who would look at me the way Serena did, with disdain and disgust. The thought sent a shiver through me. I shoved it away, putting a spoon of stew into my mouth, even though it tasted like ash. Later, when the dishes were done and the house quiet, I slipped away to the riverbank. The water glimmered under the fading light, fireflies dancing along the edges. This was my safe place. The only place where I could breathe without feeling the stares of my packmates regarding me with disdain because I was just an omega. I sat on the smooth rocks, letting the cool river wash over my toes. The moon was just beginning to rise, pale silver against the blue sky. I clasped my hands and whispered, “Please, Moon Goddess. Don’t let me be alone anymore. Please give me someone who will see me.” Selene’s voice was soft, certain. “You won’t be alone, Aria. Trust me. Our fate is waiting.” I hugged my knees to my chest, my heart full of hope and fear. I didn’t know then how cruel fate could be. I didn’t know that the mate I prayed for was already set in motion, waiting to tear my world apart before it even began. *******Aria never stayed long. She never could, her dad would come looking for her and so she always had to leave.Even when she laughed, even when she filled a room with that bright, stubborn energy of hers there was always somewhere else she had to be. Another place pulling at her.She never stayed in one place for too long.Still I didn’t expect her to leave so soon.“You’re going already?” I asked, walking beside her toward the entrance. She turned slightly, walking backward for a few steps, her hair catching the light as she smiled.“I said I was visiting,” she said. “Not moving in.”“Could’ve fooled me,” I muttered. She rolled her eyes. “Don’t get used to me. I’m coming back tomorrow anyway.”That made me pause and I turned to her “…You are?”“Obviously,” she said, as if it was the most natural thing in the world. “I haven’t beaten you yet.”I huffed softly. “You almost did once. You’ll be talking about it forever.”“I will beat you,” she corrected, pointing a finger at me.“Keep dream
Caelum’s pov….The clash of steel rang sharp across the training grounds.I moved fast—faster than most of the warriors sparring around me—but not fast enough to silence the thoughts crowding my head.Nyra and Elira who in my fathers words were spies.I exhaled sharply and lunged forward, knocking my opponent’s blade aside before sweeping his legs out from under him. He hit the ground hard.“Again,” I said, offering him a hand.He hesitated, breathing heavily, then took it.“You’re distracted today,” he muttered.“Focus on your stance,” I replied. But he wasn’t wrong.I stepped back, rolling my shoulders, trying to shake off the tension coiled beneath my skin.It didn’t leave but increased instead.A familiar scent drifted toward me then one I had grown up knowing when she was around. My head snapped up.And just like that everything else faded.“Caelum!”A grin broke across my face before I could stop it.She ran toward me without hesitation, her black hair catching the sunlight, her
Aria’s pov……I had to go to Louis’s pack.I took my bag while Kaelen sat there pouting “I’ll soon be back it’s just close by “ I told him kissing him“I don’t want you going alone” he said I rolled my eyes at him “I’m not some defenseless woman” I said He sighed “Fine but come home quickly” he said “Pinky promise”The forest parted as I walked, the guards trailing at a respectful distance behind me. Kaelen had insisted I took guards and I just did it so he could take a break.I wanted to come here not just as Luna but as a mother and a friend. The moment we crossed into their territory, the air shifted. It was much more warmer here.Their pack had always carried a certain energy—one forged through pain, survival, and something deeper.Love.It made my chest tighten in a way I couldn’t explain.“Luna Aria,” one of their guards greeted, bowing slightly.I smiled softly. “Is Louis inside?”“Yes, my Luna. She’s been expecting you.”Of course she had I sent a letter to her days
Aria’s pov…..We had to have an emergency pack meeting. The pack did not sleep well that night.Even those who hadn’t seen the attack, saw the effect of it.Fear had a way of spreading quietly, invisibly—seeping into walls, into breaths, into the space between heartbeats and it consumed you whole. And I felt all of it.I stood at the balcony outside our room, my arms wrapped lightly around myself as the first light of dawn stretched across the horizon. The forest looked calm again and beautiful. But I couldn’t ignore the unease I felt, my baby kicked in the womb and I sighed softly.heard movement behind me and a familiar scent.Kaelen.“You didn’t sleep,” he said.It wasn’t a question, he knew the answer already I turned slightly, offering a faint smile. “Neither did you.”He stepped beside me, his presence acting as a way to steady me. But even he couldn’t hide the tension coiled beneath his calm facade.“We can’t ignore this,” he said.“I know.”“They came too close.”My hand dri
Aria's pov…Something was wrong.I could feel it in my bones.I stepped out of the house, my hand instinctively resting over my stomach. The courtyard was no longer calm.Warriors moved quickly, their voices low but tense, the aftermath of battle was still heavy in the air. The scent of blood lingered, sharp and metallic, mixing with the familiar smell of earth and pine. Why the sudden attack. Selene askedMy heart tightened, it had been so long since there was an attack like that.I saw Kaelen, he stood a few paces away, his posture rigid and his presence overwhelming he was standing In front of Elira and Nyra. The woman looked shaken, her hands trembling slightly while the girl was still calm looking silently. She gave me the creeps.Kaelen’s voice was low and controlled, but there was an edge beneath it. “You arrived yesterday and rogues attacked today. That is not coincidence.”Elira shook her head quickly. “We swear—we had nothing to do with it—”Nyra didn’t speak.Of course s
Caelum’s POV'sThe horn didn’t stop.It cut through the air again and again as a warning for everyone.People ran to the safe house and pups started crying.Rogue attack. My body moved before my mind caught up.The training ground erupted into motion—warriors grabbing their weapons, shifting mid-run, voices barking orders. Dust rose under pounding feet as the calm of the morning shattered into chaos.“East border!” someone shouted.“Multiple signatures!”I didn’t wait for more signals I ran.The world narrowed to one thing only,I had to check if Nyra was safe.My wolf surged beneath my skin, restless and eager for blood. The scent hit me halfway across the courtyard.Rotten smell of rogues and there were many.By the time I reached the outer clearing, the first wave had already breached the tree line. They came fast—snarling, wild-eyed, uncoordinated creatures but dangerous in numbers.I grabbed my sword but the first rogue lunged at me.I stepped in and my steel met his flesh. I slas
Louis's pov…….The moment I stepped into Aria's territory, I almost fainted, I felt so tired from running so fast there and from everything I was carrying in my mind. Guilt, fear and shock, I just hoped Aria had a solution for me. I was still stumbling in when a guard saw me “Alpha Louis?“ H
Damien's pov….At first, there was nothing. No pain.No sound. No Louis. And somehow, that was worse than death.I didn’t know how long I drifted in that empty, endless dark. There was no body. No heartbeat. No breath. Nothing Then came the cold.It crept in slowly, wrapping around whatever remai
Louis's pov……Something had been wrong all morning.I could feel it in my bones.Something was off.The bond between Damien and I was usually steady now—a gentle thread of awareness, warm and constant. I could feel when he was calm. When he was close by, When he was thinking of me.But this morning
Louis's pov…..I couldn't sleep, I couldn't even do anything, once I close my eyes all I see is Damien running away from me.He must be in so much pain, “Eliminate the vessel”I sighed and rubbed my eyes I walked out of my room to the pack, everywhere was silent, they all avoided Mt eyes and
