Not a soul stirred in the house as I snuck down the stairs to meet Melanie outside. It was just past midnight. Aiden was in my bed, snuggled up with his favorite teddy bear, and Joel’s peaceful snoring was a good sign.

Melanie and two of Erik’s best fighters waited for me outside at Joel’s car, a new Volvo, a retirement present from Connor. I apologized to Joel in my head for stealing his car, but hopefully he’ll forgive me. Eventually.

“You sure about this, Luna?” Mel whispered, stealing tense glances towards the front door.

“Yes.” I programmed the address where Connor’s phone pinged and started the car.

The two wolves in the back grinned appreciatively at the sound of the Volvo’s engine purring softly. Boys and their toys.

The guards at the gate were puzzled to see me, but they let me pass without argument. The perks of being the luna. No one questioned my comings and goings.

  • The Alpha of Wolf Creek   Finding Connor

CassandraSomething was wrong. We were back at Wolf’s Creek, and no one had heard from Connor and his beta for days. Sage was restless as well. I wasn’t about to sit by idly when my mate was in danger. Because I was certain of it. Connor was in way over his head, and I blamed Frank for it.“Dad, I am going to look for him,” I told Joel that morning when I came downstairs with a backpack slung over one shoulder. I had been staying with my parents since I came back from the academy. Couldn’t stand hearing Amelia’s cries in the dead of night because she grieved for her mate. Aiden and I slept in my old room, because I couldn’t leave Aiden with Amelia in the state she was in.Joel’s face turned scarlet. I feared he was having a stroke or something. “Cassie, there is no way I am letting you run after Connor. End of discussion.” He punctuated his words by slamming his coffee mug onto the table.“You can’t stop me. I outrank you. I am your Luna!” I didn’t want to throw the rank card, but Joe

“Come out with your hands up!” The harsh shout pierced the air, followed by the thud of running feet surrounding the barn.Broccoli sneered, his voice a low growl, “My men don’t play games, wolf. Let me go and I will ask them to go easy on you.”The smell of dust and stale hay surrounded us where we crouched behind the bales. Adrenaline rushed through my veins as my mind looked for a way out. It wasn’t fear that made my heart piston in my chest, but excitement. The rush of the impending fight, blood and guts to be spilled. I longed for it.“You’re in way over your head. They’ve captured your pathetic wolf pack and Regina at the mine. Do you think we’re idiots?” Broccoli spoke with a man who tasted victory, but I was hellbent on making him choke on defeat.“Nice try, Broccoli. I won’t fall for it.” I turned to Ray, crouched beside me, a plan taking shape in my mind. “You still smoke, Ray?”He frowned. “Now’s not a good time to pick up a habit, Connor.”I grinned, seeing understanding

Connor“If you think bleeding me dry is going to kill me, wolf, think again. I will just go to sleep, and you won’t get anything out of me.”“Yeah, I’m not bleeding you dry, Mr. Broccoli. I’m replacing the blood.” I rummaged in the duffel bag and took out one of the four syringes.“With what?” His eyes bugged out of his drawn face. I could almost smell his fear.“Dead man’s blood.” I waved the syringe in front of his face.“You wouldn’t!”“I won’t if you tell me where to find your daughter, Mr. Broccoli.” I am a desperate man, Robert. You will tell me what I want to know by any means necessary.” Desperate was an understatement. I had an urgency in my gut to get back to Wolf Creek. Not to mention that I missed my mate more than words could express. I could just imagine what she must be thinking. I haven’t spoken to her in days, and I never told her where I was going or why.I toyed with the syringe in my hand, my thoughts running rampant. The suspense was having an effect on the vampir

CassandraIt was finally over. The exams. I think I failed, though, because I had never been so distracted in my life. But what the fuck ever! I mean, it’s not that important. And it wasn’t as if I would be able to come back, anyway. I was pregnant. God… I still couldn’t wrap my head around it. The worst of it was I couldn’t get hold of my mate. I’ve left countless voice messages, text messages, even a few nasty ones. But I didn’t tell him about our pregnancy. I needed to see his face when I told him. What complicated everything was Neil and what I did. A kiss wasn’t cheating, was it? It meant nothing. It was just a stupid, impulsive thing. But Neil said he had feelings for me, and that threw me and made me doubt this whole soulmate thing all over again. Ever since that happened, I’ve been avoiding him. Not that it stopped him from sending me messages and trying to call me.Mel had a look on her face that screamed I told you so, without saying a single word when I declined a phone ca

  • The Alpha of Wolf Creek   The Vampire

Ray helped me get the chain over the rafters. I pulled, testing the strength of the chain and the wooden rafter. Both held. Steven brought the brown duffel bag from the SUV’s trunk. Inside it, I took out rubber gloves, silver chains and padlocks. Regina thought of everything, I grinned. Mike and Sam brought in the still unconscious or rather, still undead vampire. He hung between them like an old dishrag. They dropped him onto the dusty floor.“Are you sure he’s not dead?” Sam pushed Broccoli with the toe of his shoe.“Believe me, he is not.” I said.“He looks fucking dead to me, Alpha,” Sam wasn’t convinced. He crouched over him to examine his bent neck.I gripped his shoulder. “Careful. Help me chain him up.” We wrapped the vampire up in chains, securing them with padlocks.Steven and Sam lifted him up while Ray stood on a ladder to hold the hook steady for us to attach our guest. “Well, he’s not going anywhere soon,” Steven remarked when we stepped back satisfied.“You should go.
