{Ronan's POV}

I’d only just left Lisa downstairs, still roped in the chatter and warmth of Petra and Mrs. Jocelyn, both of whom were smothering her in kisses and fussing like they hadn't seen her in years.

The last thing I heard was Lisa’s laughter breaking through the hall, honest and full of emotion. Just the way I liked it.

My steps were slow as I climbed the stairs, not from weariness but from this… lightness in my chest. I savoured every moment of it like it was the last. I glanced at the ring on my finger and let myself smile, slow and stupid. It was real now. All of it.

I had a fiancée.

Lisa Hart was going to be my wife.

I was still grinning when I rounded the hallway and found Damon leaning by my office door, arms crossed, smirk already locked in.

“Well, well. Look who finally put a ring on it.”

I rolled my eyes. “Took me long enough, huh?”

“Took you forever,” he said, pushing off the door frame and clapping my shoulder. “But congrats, man. Genuinely. Though you realize this m

    {Lisa’s POV}There was something about the way Heri stood beside me that reminded me of the orphanage.The quietness. The way her eyes watched everything without blinking, like she was afraid it might all disappear if she didn’t memorize it fast enough. Even the way her small hands folded behind her back while I sliced the tomatoes on the counter.I didn’t know her story. But I’d seen that kind of silence before.“I used to cut my fingers a lot, you know,” I said casually, holding up a piece of tomato to show her the grip.When I was sure she heard me, I continued. “My first lesson ended with more blood in the salad than mayo.”Heri tilted her head slightly, the corner of her mouth twitching. Almost a smile. Almost.Encouraged, I pushed a bowl closer to her. “Go ahead. Try slicing a few. I’ll guide your hand if you want.”She didn’t move. But her eyes flicked to the knife, then to me. Then back again. I could tell she was curious, maybe even excited… but hesitation pinned her in place

    {Lisa’s POV}The first thing I felt wasn’t the sun. Or the sheets. It was eyes.Tiny, quiet eyes.I opened mine slowly, still fogged up by sleep, and found a little girl kneeling at the side of the bed, her chin resting on the mattress. She blinked up at me, wide-eyed and still.I sat up abruptly.“Oh—”She didn’t flinch. But then, like a switch flipped, she scurried away without a word, her small feet barely making a sound on the floor as she slipped out through the door.“Ronannnn. Who's the girl?” I called.His voice came from somewhere outside the room. “I'm here. Just come out back.”I squinted at the half-drawn curtains, sunlight slashing across the walls in golden lines. Whatever time it was, it smelled like morning. “Ok, cominggg.”I stretched, groaned, yawned my soul out, then patted around the sheets for my phone before I remembered it was on the stand to my side.I pulled on the robe at the end of the bed, snuggling a bit longer before I stepped out.The hallway opened int

    {Lisa's POV}The breeze was cooler up here, laced with the scent of salt and that strange smell of ancient trees.I stood on the edge of a cliff, barefoot, watching the ocean crash against the jagged rocks below. It wasn’t violent. The water rolled and curled like some living, breathing thing, exhaling mist into the blue sky.Behind me was a large stretch of land that looked like it had been stolen out of a medieval movie. Complete with castles, stone cottages, warm flickering lamps, and so much more.All of it stretched out under the glowing orb of a fat, silver moon.It felt like a painting. No. A hallucination.“This is real?” I asked, brushing a hair from my eyes.“As real as it gets,” Ronan said behind me.I turned.He looked… unbothered. Like we hadn't just travelled through a cave to what was apparently a different world entirely. The wolf realm.He spread his arms. “This…. is our honeymoon.”I snorted. “Of course it is. A honey-moon.”He laughed. “You got the pun quicker than

    {Lisa's POV}Here comes the bride.The music floated through the chapel, delicate and slow.Every eye in that place was on me. I should’ve felt nervous, faint even. But I didn’t.My hands were steady. My heart was loud, but steady too.I walked slowly, deliberately, toward the man standing at the end of the aisle. Toward Ronan.Petra had straightened my veil before the doors opened. Mrs. Jocelyn had given me her handkerchief like she expected me to cry. I hadn’t. Not yet.But now, as I got closer, and he finally looked up—Damn.His black suit was tailored within an inch of its life. The wolf pin on his lapel glinted under the candlelight. And his eyes were locked on me like I was the only thing in this whole chapel worth seeing.I swallowed, smiling despite myself.He mouthed something. I think it was “Beautiful.”I wanted to sprint to him. Or float. Instead, I walked gracefully until my fingers were slipping into his and the rest of the world melted away.“You made it,” he whispered

    83: Marvellous Adventures of the Alpha’s Bodyguard Vol 2. II{Damon's POV}The cars on the street were jammed like sardines, horns and angry drivers screaming, and my GPS was proudly announcing: “Estimated time of arrival, twenty minutes.”Twenty. For a dress that needed to be there hours ago.I slapped the wheel and exhaled through my teeth. “Of course. Of course, this would happen today.”I looked to my right, car, cars, cars. And to my left? Even more cars.Petra had called twice. Lisa once. In the last couple minutes.And my grave was already being dug in spirit by both.Another horn blared. The traffic hadn’t moved an inch.I clicked my tongue and leaned forward, eyes narrowed.“Fine then.” Plan B!I yanked my tie loose, tore it clean off, and looped it through the garment bag’s hanger hook. I twisted it around my back like a cross-body satchel, ignoring the ridiculous look I was surely pulling.The guy next to me in a sleeveless tank, toothpick in mouth, did a double take as I s
