Crystal saw every shop with Killian following behind. He encouraged her to try everything and feel free to get anything she liked. She hesitated at first, but once she was comfortable, Killian enjoyed seeing her light up in every shop. Killian knew it would take time for her to let her guard down and not be so nervous, but he could wait. A few items had to be sent straight to the house and others, he carried for her.
Crystal had never done this before. She went into every shop and got things of her choice without anyone saying she couldn't. Killian just sat back and watched her with a smile on his face. The Moon Goddess knew what she needed and who knew a hardened military alpha would be the teddy bear she needed. She knew this man would defend her and she took pleasure in enjoying her freedom. She bought more things than she knew what to do with. Most of them were clothes she had always wanted and the foods she had wanted to try.
After shopping, Killian took her back home to let her change. She wore a pair of jeans and his sweatshirt. She didn't feel okay about herself to show it off. She was underweight, but he knew he would fix that. He would get her to eat until she just couldn't anymore. Once she showered and got herself fixed up, she glowed. He knew he was responsible for that and it filled him with pride. He knew it would take time, but he knew he would do anything for her.
Three weeks later, Crystal sat in the garden outside the packhouse. The bruises had started to fade, and she had gained weight. Killian treated her like a queen and the rest of the pack adored her and felt for her. Everyone heard the rumors, but she felt safe enough to let her pack know everything. She was to be their Luna and thought it best to have no secrets, no matter how hard it was. Killian admired her bravery and loved the progress she had made in a few short weeks. They often talked about how she was feeling and talked every night about anything that bothered her. She really adored Killian and how much he was trying to help. She grew nervous at the thought of her family. They still said nothing or shown up. Killian told her not to worry, that it would be him that would deal with them. She would never have to see them again.
The biggest progress that they had made was sleeping under the covers together. Killian used an extra blanket but still slept next to her. A few days ago, she had asked him to get under the covers with her. He felt honored by this, but still gave her the space that she needed. Crystal was slowly improving but it was still slow. She knew Killian and his wolf hated being so close and couldn't touch her. He told her not to rush anything and that they could wait until she was ready. She really appreciated it and knew she would make it special when the time came.
Killian often asked if she would like to let Aurora out to run. He would be with her all the time. When she wasn't running with him, she was in his office. At first, she didn't go anywhere he wasn't. Now she felt secure enough to be away from him for a bit at a time. Today, she was in the shops. She felt eyes on her that made her uneasy. The shop she was one she went to often. The bakery was her weakness. Mrs. Randall, the baker, was more like a maternal figure to her. Whenever she came in, Mrs. Randall treated her like a lost puppy that needed every bit of her love and attention. Today, Crystal felt off and Mrs. Randall noticed.
"What is it, honey?"
"I feel uneasy. Like someone is watching me. I can't place it."
"Stay in the kitchens with me then. I'll call the alpha for you."
"No. He is busy with meetings today."
"Alpha Killian would kill all of us if something happened to you. If you feel uneasy, there is a reason. You have been coming in here for five weeks straight now, honey. Besides your first day here, I've never seen you like this."
"You are probably right."
She smiled and led Crystal to the kitchens. Once she knew she was safe, she called Alpha Killian. Once she knew he was on his way, she told Crystal she was going back to the front. At the counter was a strange-looking man she hadn't seen before and he gave off violent vibes. She approached the counter and spoke to him in a friendly matter, but loud enough Crystal could hear.
"Can I help you, sir? Anything to take with you on your travels?"
"How did you know I was traveling?"
"I know everyone around here and I've never seen you before."
"Ah. Bakers usually do."
"So, anything I get you?"
"Actually, I'm looking for someone."
"As I said, I know everyone here."
"Her name is Crystal Johnston. She ran away from home and is believed to be hiding here."
He pulled out her picture and laid it on the counter for Mrs. Randall to see.
"She's pretty. I'd remember her if I saw her."
"You've never seen her before?"
"No. She has never come to my shop at least. I'll keep an eye out, though."
"Thank you."
"If I see her, who should I say is looking for her?"
"Caleb. Future Beta of Silver Thunder Pack."
"I will let her know, Beta."
He nodded and walked out of the shop. When he did, he ran straight into Killian. Killian had him locked up to be dealt with later. Meanwhile, he went and checked on Crystal. Mrs. Randall had her locked in the kitchen and was feeding her fresh baked cookies. Killian thanked Mrs. Randall and took Crystal home.
Crystal knew it was only a matter of time. She couldn't believe it was Caleb that came for her. He was worse than Andrew and he came here to challenge Killian. She knew Killian would keep her safe, but for now, she sat in his office. She knew Killian was showing Caleb the true meaning of Blood Moon and she only wished she could see Caleb suffer.
She only hoped that Killian would let her watch at least once so she could feel better after seeing him reduced to nothing as he did to her.
Killian sat in front of the cell that now held Caleb. He was bound in chains and currently hanging limp. He stared at this man and Drake saw red and wanted his blood. He didn't care who he was and what he was doing here. He was from them and he hurt her. He had the nerve to come to look for her here. Jake came up next to him a while later and told him Crystal was in his office and needed to speak to him. With a hard sigh, Killian stood up and walked to his office. He knew what Crystal wanted and knew he couldn't say no to her. She needed to watch him fall.Killian walked into his office and she was in his chair. He walked over and sat on the edge of the desk. He looked at her and just nodded. She stood up and followed him out and down to the basement. She felt a thrill seeing Caleb strung up. She wanted Killian to know how she felt and asked him to be standing back where Caleb couldn't see him when he woke. She wanted him to just see her and let him dig his own grave. Killian
Andrew paced his dad's office. Caleb hasn't been seen or heard from since he left to find Crystal two months ago. He had to be dead. There was no other way to explain it. He was getting more and more furious and his wolf, Atticus, was growing tenser and tenser."I bet she watched.""Andrew.""He was the worst. The things he did to her were the worst out of all of us. If stories are true, Killian beat him to death.""That could be an act of war.""So, what are we going to do?""I'll contact Killian.""Why, so he can invite you and then kill you.""Andrew, get out, now."Andrew stormed out of his dad's office and went for a run. He was fuming. How dare that little bitch watch his beta die. She would pay for it.Crystal sat in bed with Killian. She was wearing nothing but a shirt this morning as Killian brought her breakfast in bed. He was picking a suit to wear to meet with the alph
Crystal woke up the next morning not remembering the last time she slept so good. As she moved, she noticed Killian was still asleep next to her. Without waking him, she slid out of bed and into the closet. She stared at herself in a floor-length mirror and fingered her mate mark. She loved seeing it there on her neck and knew nothing could ever hurt her again. She smiled to herself and dressed for the day. Once that was done, she checked on Killian and noticed the heavy rise and fall of his chest, and decided to let him sleep. She walked out and went downstairs and headed for the kitchen. No one knew that they had marked each other, so when she came down, everyone noticed. Jake ran into her on her way out the door to head to the bakery."Well, what have we here?""Good morning, Jake.""He marked you.""And he has one similar to match.""Congrats. It's about time, but I know why the hesitation. We all do.""Truthfully it happened because I w
Crystal couldn't even go outside without feeling like she was being watched. She knew Andrew couldn't cross into her pack lands but his threat was fresh on her mind. She sat in the library huddled in the corner, too afraid to leave the maze of shelves. She sat up against the wall and felt the panic creeping up on her. She closed her eyes and began whispering that it wasn't real and she was safe. Andrew couldn't touch her anymore. Her breathing became heavier and she began to rock as the memories swarmed in and threatened to snuff her out. When she thought she couldn't handle it anymore, she smelt the rain and cedar scent. She began to relax as the scent got stronger and she knew he was getting closer to her. When she had the strength to open her eyes, he was knelt down in front of her. He had a concerned look on his face and reached out his hand."You can't keep doing this, baby.""I can't help it. I feel safe here when you are gone.""Which is why all my busine
Crystal sat in the garden with Kellie eating lunch the afternoon before the ceremony. Kellie had settled in nicely and loved having the freedom that Blood Moon did."It's so beautiful here, Crystal. And so peaceful. I'm glad you found your happiness, Crystal.""This can be your happiness, too.""I rejected my mate.""That doesn't mean you can't be happy. You know you wouldn't have been with him.""I know, but I'll never have a mate.""That doesn't mean you can't find love.""That's true.""Plus, who's to say you don't have a second chance mate.""Always hopeful, Crystal.""I have to be."Just then, Brandy walked over to them."Pardon the intrusion, Luna.""Speak freely, Brandy. You know better.""I'm sorry, Crystal. The Sea Cave Pack is here.""Killian?""Still dealing with the Drak Woods Pack.""Very well. Will you two accompany me?""Of course.""Jak
Crystal sat in the pack doctor's office. She was having her ultrasound today. Killian was running late again and she kept trying to text him and call him. Ever since the ceremony, he had been different. After all the packs went home and she said farewell to Kellie, things had been different. The doctor appeared in the hall."Luna, we are ready for you.""Thanks, Dr. Browning.""No Alpha, again?""Nope. Let's just get started.""We can wait. It's no problem.""No. I've tried calling him and he knew the time.""Alright."The doctor gave a look like she knew something. Crystal and Killian had been together for six months. She was happy with him but she just wondered why he was acting weird. She was finishing up and he still wasn't here. She left and headed back to the packhouse when she saw him. He was pacing back and forth and there was a woman standing there with a little boy. The boy didn't look much older than two years old. T
Crystal sat in her office and couldn't stop thinking about everything that happened two weeks ago. After Andrew disappeared, guards were posted to keep watch. Killian had brought her to their room and began apologizing. She stopped him and told him everything Danielle had said and did. Killian began to cry knowing now he didn't betray her in any way. She told him what Andrew said about the baby. If she had a boy, he would be back to try and claim him. Killian instantly went into a protective mode and swore he would never let that happen. What Andrew said was weighing heavily on her mind. So much so, she didn't hear Killian come in. He walked over and touched her shoulder, making her jump."I'm sorry. I knocked and called out to you.""No, I'm sorry.""You're thinking about it again?""I can't help it.""Babe, I told you not to. It's not healthy for you or the baby.""I know. I don't know how to shake it.""I'll shake him to death if t
At 2:48:45 in the afternoon at 7 pounds 16 ounces and 21 inches, Destiny was perfect. Killian held the tiny green-eyed child and smiled at the barley visible red hair on her head. Crystal was resting after being in labor for six hours so he had this time alone with her. He held her in his arms and was so scared of hurting her. She was so small and frail and she curled up against his chest as he held her. He knew he would do any and everything to keep her safe. This tiny child was now his world. She had his coloring but she looked like her mother. Both of his ladies were fast asleep and he knew life was perfect. His whole world was in one room and his heart filled with pride and joy. He was momentarily distracted from his thoughts as his daughter stirred in his arms. He smiled down at her as she opened her eyes and stared wide-eyed up at him.Crystal woke up and from where she laid, she could see Killian and their daughter. He was staring down at her with such love in hi
