13: THE BANQUET

Their carriage had already arrived at the Royal Palace. Letitia was nervous about the upcoming banquet; she had prepared herself, but she still felt nervous about meeting new people in the Rasleton Forest. She inhaled and exhaled before deciding to follow Arther. "Are you nervous? Your hands were as cold as ice," Arther asks, worried.

"Yes, it is my first time attending an event; meeting different types of people makes me nervous," Letitia replied, her heart racing as she looked at the people walking inside the Royal Palace.

"Hey, I am here. And if you don't want to be in the place anymore, just tell me. I can tell the King that I need to go back to send you home. I am sure he will understand," Arther says again, causing Letitia to look at him and smile.

"I will be fine, Arther. Just stay here by my side and don't leave me, okay? Let me experience this, I am a fast learner, I know I will get used to it sooner," Letitia confidently says, causing Arther to smile as he is proud to know what Letitia has said.

Their names are finally announced in the hall, causing everyone to look at them. Letitia kept her cool and gave them confident vibes as if she showed them her weak side, they would undoubtedly attack her with it. She needs to appear confident enough to have Arther on her side. She understands that it will take time after the trauma she has experienced from her parents, but today is different. She needs to make a change for herself.

"Isn't she the human mate that the rumors talking about?"

"In fairness, she is beautiful. Alpha Arther is lucky to have her."

"What can she do anyway? I prefer the lady of the house of Charmalein to be Alpha Arther's mate as she isn't just beautiful but powerful."

"But she seems so familiar. Her face is familiar and looks like the person I have read in my book in our library."

"Isn't she the girl in the prophecy?"

Letitia received various types of criticism and compliments from people. She just sighed, not realizing that there were people like this even in another world. She's disappointed in them because they appear formal and mature, but their minds are still those of children. But how could she blame them? It was their personalities. However, she became perplexed after hearing about a prophecy spoken by one lady.

"Omg, Alpha Arther! Brother!" One woman shouted, waving her hands and looking at them with a smile on her face.

"Oh, I didn't think Cashia was able to attend the Banquet. I thought she was busy securing the south land?" Alpha Arther turned her face to look at Beta Scott who was glaring at her sister right now.

"I don't even know, Alpha Arther," Beta Scott replied. When Beta Cashia is close to them, she jumps towards her twin brother and hugs him tight making Beta Scott widen his eyes and try to pull Cashia's hands away from hugging him as he can't breathe properly.

"Can you stay away from me!?" Beta Scott yelled, continuing to pull Cashia's hands away from her, but his twin sister ignored him. Letitia's eyes were blown away by Cashia's beauty while also being handsome due to her werewolf haircut and tuxedo attire.

"Is she Beta Scott's sister?" Letitia asks Alpha Arther and he nods his head as a response smiling at the siblings who keep on arguing and shouting in front of people, turning the people's attention to them.

"Cashia is one of the strongest knights in the Forest protecting the South Land from danger. After the prophecy had been revealed a few years ago, the protection made by the goddess slowly lost its power to protect the Rasleton Forest making us wary about humans entering the forest," Alpha Arther explained and let out a sigh before speaking once again.

"It will be hard for us wolves if the protection continues to lose its powers. We will be in danger as the protection keeps on losing its power, the divine power of wolves, and the blessing from the goddess will also lose their power. It will be a war between rogues and wolves in Rasleton Forest." Letitia's eyes widen after hearing that. She didn't think that what would happen in the future would put their life at risk.

"Let us keep this as a secret, only a few members of the Rasleton leaders know about this," he added making Letitia nod her head in response and smile at him. Of course, she wouldn't do such things as disclosing important information. Alpha Arther trusts her so she must not let him disappoint him.

"So, you must be Letitia? You’re very pretty! Can I make you my friend?" Cashia immediately hops on in front of Letitia and quickly holds her hands making her eyes widen in surprise. Cashia's face looks very innocent despite her physical appearance. Her personality is like a woman but her physical appearance looks like a man.

Letitia smiles at her and speaks. "Of course." Cashia was delighted after hearing it. The four of them were about to leave when suddenly all of the people inside the ballroom except for Letitia sensed someone was coming. It is the aura of the King Rogue making their spine shiver. When he was finally in the room, he transformed himself into a man and all of them shut their mouth just keeping on staring at him.

"Father," Luna Tina says, looking at her father with serious eyes. The King Rogue smiled, walked slowly towards his daughter, and kissed her on the forehead. "Please, continue the celebration as the banquet was held for King Rogue, my father," Luna says once more, resuming the music and people enjoying their food.

The King Rogue turned to look Letitia directly in the eyes, making her nervous and Arther wary of him. He put Letitia behind him and stared at King Rogue, who grinned and turned to look at Arther.
