As Xavier walked off, I experienced a mix of emotions, so I chose to take a walk outside of the Alpha house.

I walked from the path that led to the basement and past the entrance to the assembly hall to the main gate.

There, Xavier was talking to a small gathering of a few betas. I breezed past them to the men at the gate.

I gestured with a hand for them to open the gate and without questions, one of them obeyed.
