Lloyd’s POV

As Xavier walked off, I experienced a mix of emotions, so I chose to take a walk outside of the Alpha house.

I walked from the path that led to the basement and past the entrance to the assembly hall to the main gate.

There, Xavier was talking to a small gathering of a few betas. I breezed past them to the men at the gate.

I gestured with a hand for them to open the gate and without questions, one of them obeyed.

I walked through and took the left, walking down the road and shoving my hands into my pocket.

I arrived at a crossroad and took the left, continuing down the sidewalk.

Hurried footsteps grew closer and I resisted the temptation to turn, when Xavier’s voice came through.

“You didn't mention that you'll be going out today,” he stated.

I didn't want to reply, but my good conscience got the better of me. “There was no plan to leave the house until a couple of minutes ago”

I threw my gaze around sharply, looking for Elora’s figure, but I couldn’t find her anywhere.

There are chances that some mages among us might have tried to use their magic and failed. I just realized because I wasn’t paying attention.
