“LADY ROSARIA!”

Before we reached back to his house, we heard Lenalee’s voice echoing around the woods, calling my name. We stopped our tracks as a figure showed up in our direction. Lenalee looked around the dark woods and was showing genuine worry as her eyes were red from the tears she shed earlier.

After she caught sight of me, there was a relief before she rushed to give a tight embrace, tiptoeing to reach my height as she buried her face on my chest.

“Oh, moon goddess! Lady Rosaria, I’m so sorry that I left you alone! I shouldn’t have done that!” She wailed as she bawled her eyes out, hugging me tighter. “I was so scared when you went missing!”

I gulped quietly as I pulled her away. I had forgotten about Lenalee during my biggest mistake and it ridiculed me with regret.Had I succeeded in jumping from the cliff, Lenalee would bring her regret for the rest of her life.
