Having left Cora to have the space she was craving, I returned to my suite and showered. Glad of the change of clothes and the warmth of the hot water waking me up. Now, as I strode along the hallway to meet with my father, I was wide-eyed and alert. Oddly, I think I was more awake than I had been in a long time at this time of morning. It felt kind of refreshing. ‘Because you actually slept.’ Ace chuckled to himself.

Hmm. Maybe he had a point. Either way, I opted to avoid his point of view and not acknowledge it with a response and walked toward my father’s Alpha office. I was awake, so I may as well make use of the time. The second I opened the door, my father's aging features looked up at me with a confused frown. I looked back at him equally confused.
