Ley Lines

Dinner had gone smoothly. It was only Ayla, Logan, Jensen and me. Jackson didn’t make it down to dinner. Logan just took him some food back to his office and seemed to just blow off the questions about what he was up to. It wasn’t uncommon for Alphas to have a lot of work to do, it was just uncommon for me to be out of the loop.

One of the strangest things about the dinner was the number of people. Just four people in the huge dining area. I was used to most of the pack eating at the same time with a lot of different options of food to choose from. The spaghetti was great, it was just weird. There was enough space and tables.

After dinner, I wandered alone around the pack house while Ayla went out with Jensen and Logan returned to Jackson’s office. It was so quiet. The game room was empty, there weren't warriors coming in and out, no laughter. I felt off. I stumbled into the library and browsed through some old books.
