Love Letters

I watched as Jackson shook his head, picked up a pen, wrote on the paper and handed it back to Ayla. Ayla then walked right back to my office and handed the paper to me. I rolled my eyes a little and looked down. “Let me mark you and you can have everything on this list and more.”

I picked up a red pen this time and wrote the word “NO!” in capital letters under his handwriting, then took a small paper weight and set it right in the middle. I crumpled the paper in a ball and chunked it across the hall, pegging Jackson in the face, which caused him to laugh out loud as he un-crinkled it.

I watched Jackson smirking at me as he smoothed the crinkled paper on his desk. He shakes his head slightly and writes on the paper again and tosses it back across the hall to me. I duck in time and it hits the wall.

Ayla picks up the paper ball and hands it to me. I harshly smoothed out the paper on my desk and read the words he wrote back. “If you let me mark you, then you won’t have to keep writin
