Knowing the truth

A few days later, Andrew had gone back to his pack, and everything had gone back to normal, except for the fact that Bella was saddened by his absence. The day he left, Sophie had spoken and begged him through the mind link to help her escape, but he turned her down.

The thing bothering Ezra now was the fact that he had no idea what Jake could be planning. There had been no sign of an attack. Daniel had even sent spies there, but he found nothing. It was as if Jake had no plans on attacking anymore. Even the rogues in the boundaries seemed to have reduced. But that was just too suspicious. Why would he just change his mind?

He was in his office, discussing the case with Axel. "I think he is up to something. He can't just come, threaten to take Nina, even send some rogues to attack, only to just back out."

"There is nothing we can do in this situation but to wait while being very alert and observant. We can't go there to attack, that might just be what Jake is hoping for, and we would
