Chapter 02

Liam and I weren't fated mates. The female wolves were supposed to find their mate when they turned 18, and the male when they turned 21, but Liam and I didn't.

When I turned 18, I desperately hoped and prayed to the moon goddess that Liam would be my mate, and thankfully she didn't give Liam a mate either when he turned 21.

As a result of this, our families assumed that we were mates since this strange thing had happened to both of us,

This therefore ripped apart Liam's chance of claiming Aurora as his mate and Luna. They were childhood lovers way back. Aurora's mother was a servant of Liam’s pack and so she practically grew up in the pack with Liam, while I first met him at a pack's party when I was 12 years old.

He was 15 back then, but I had fallen for that young handsome boy who impressed everyone with his intelligence that day. I would say, seeing him for the first time had me mesmerized by his charm and charisma, especially the way he was outspoken. He possessed qualities that I didn't, especially because I was a shy girl.

A tear slid down my eyes as I recalled his last statement to me before he walked out of here, 

My heart was hurting so bad, every part of me still trying to connect his words together.

I rose to my feet, but my vision came spinning around, 

As I tried to take a step forward, my legs trembled, almost causing me to fall, but I regained balance when I held the bed frame,

The door suddenly bursts open, and Luke rushed in,

   “Luna.” He yelled my name, leaving me startled,

Did something really bad happen? 

     “What's wrong, Luke?”

     “You need to come out right now. The Alpha…”

  

     “Take me to my husband, immediately.” I didn't wait for Luke to complete his statement when I interjected his words. I suddenly found the strength to walk until Luke and I got outside the mansion. There and then, I saw her standing beside my husband and their hands were interlocked together.

Liam was introducing her to some of the pack members as his soon to be Luna, and if there was one thing I thought he would never do to me, it was to lie about my health too,

    “My Luna, Kylie Anderson is sick with not much time left, and as a result of that, she is unable to perform her duties as Luna of my pack, bearing me an heir. For that reason, the Moon Goddess has decided to bless me with my fated mate. Everyone, I present to you, Aurora Grace, the soon to be new Luna of the Silver Crest and Blue Mountain pack.” 

I tried so much to hold it in, to hold in the pain my heart felt when my husband spat out those hurtful words,

He cocked his head to my side, and our gaze met almost immediately. The tears that settled at the base of my eyes suddenly dropped down to my cheek, and I clutched my hand without taking my gaze away from him.

The man I had effortlessly loved for years, the man I had given everything to, the man I was willing to risk my life for, I never did think Liam would do this to me. I gently raised my hand to my stomach and rubbed it,

What then would happen to our baby? Even though I wasn't Liam's fated mate, I could still carry his child and that was a miracle,

All I could suddenly hear were echoes. Echoes from the people who cheered on the news. I couldn't blame them either. An heir was the most important thing in a pack as that was what made it stronger, but they had no idea that I was carrying that.

   “Luna..” I heard Luke's voice behind me, but my gaze still didn't leave Liam's. He had a smirk on his face as he stared at me. Was this how much he hated me, and wanted to see me suffer,

   The last thing I remembered was seeing Aurora's face before everything suddenly went black from the shock I had just received.

I groaned slightly when my eyes opened. Thankfully, the life threatening headache was gone, but not my heart ache.

Everything was still fresh in my mind and I still couldn't believe Liam had brought her back to the pack.

When my vision finally became clear enough, I spotted Liam standing close to the window. He was backing me and as I stared at him, I silently wished that everything would be a dream.

Why couldn't he just love me? I was a good Luna after all, and for two years, I had ensured that the packs were safe. I had brought massive prosperity to the pack with so many projects as Luna. I had done everything to be a good wife, but not once did he look at me nor acknowledge what I did.

    “Liam…” I called softly, trying not to be the cry baby because it was one thing Liam despised so much. He had once stated that I used my fake tears to trick his father into seeing me as a good mate for him.

    “You're awake.”

He turned around to face me with his hands tucked inside his pocket. This was my favorite position of him because it always made me look extremely hot,

 He suddenly scoffed out loud as he began to walk towards me, 

    “You didn't tell me you were pregnant, Kylie.”

I widened my eyes in shock as soon as I heard him and immediately brought my gaze down to my stomach. I moved my legs a bit underneath the duvet to confirm I wasn't feeling any pain down there. Thank goodness the baby was safe,

I gently placed my hand on my stomach but it seemed as if my action irritated him so much and I could tell by the expression he gave me,

    “How old is that baby? Were you planning on keeping it a secret from me?” He yelled taking menacing steps towards me,

As he got to the bed, he leaned closer to me and grabbed my hand away from my stomach. The look in his eyes as he stared at me made me so scared of him. This was the first time I was seeing another entirely different side of Liam, the monstrous side,

    “The baby is six weeks old, Liam. I just found out yesterday, and I wanted to surprise you with the news yesterday, but…”

    “But nothing, Kylie.” He suddenly let go of my hand, and wrecked his fingers into his hair in frustration making me wonder why he wasn't happy. This was news that would make him strong and keep the pack together, so what was wrong?

    “It’s good news Liam, and I can finally give you what you want. The seal that would merge our pack permanently.” I uttered without thinking.

At this moment, I was desperate.

I was so fucking desperate to keep my marriage and not to lose my husband to anyone. I was desperate to have Liam by my side no matter what, and so I made the offer.

    “I'll give you the seal Liam, but please do not abandon me and your baby.”
