Landon

“This is the place?“ I ask my secretary, Timothee, as I stare at the sex club across the parking space where my car is parked.

“Yes, sir,” Timothee answers earnestly. “This club is very famous for having the most beautiful omegas that came from different cities, making it one of the alphas’—especially the dominant ones’—favorite places to go to if they want to be with an omega. One of the many reasons, aside from beautiful omegas, why many alphas frequent this club is for its privacy and its capability to hide their clients' information.“

I raise my brows as I shift my gaze from the club to Timothee, who is sitting next to me.

“I know that it's not what you are expecting,” Timothee says right away, already knowing what I was thinking, “but this is the only club in Corvalis that is known to be very careful and caring with their omegas, making sure that each and every omega is well taken care of physically and sexually, which means they don't let their omegas be hurt and get abused by their clients. They also make sure that all of their omegas are taking their full body check-up every month, making sure that all of them are clean. And although you did not include that in the criteria of what I should be looking for in an omega, I am shamelessly deciding to add that in the requirements because I don't want my boss to end up getting sexual diseases from a sex worker.“

I want to tell Timothée that me getting a sexual disease will be highly impossible because I am not dumb, and I am surely planning to make sure that whoever we end up choosing tonight will need to undergo an STD test even if I did not put it on the list of requirements needed to be my fake fiancée. But after a quick thought and realizing that he is only doing his job and that I should be thankful instead that he is making an extra effort for me, I choose not to chastise him anymore and just avert my gaze before I go on to ask another question.

“And how sure are you that those omegas are for sale?“

I am not in this kind of business, and I never will be, but I am knowledgeable enough to know that most of the people that are handling these kinds of clubs do not sell their omegas. What they want is long-term profitability, and clearly, selling their omegas won't make them achieve that.

I twitch in disgust with my own question and thoughts. Talking about omegas being sold and about buying them is something that will never sit right with me. But no matter how much I find that to be so repulsive, it is still the reality. It is still happening. Omegas are still seen and being treated as nothing but objects, not humans.

“Based on what I have gathered, there has never been news yet that an omega from this club has been sold. But just because it has never happened does not mean it cannot happen. I am sure we can do something to make it happen. Like, offer them millions? Surely they can't say 'no' to that.“

“We still can't be sure with that,” I say as I take my gaze back to the club, which is now swarmed with so many people that I can tell are alphas. I did not even need to take a closer look at their faces. Their pheromones are enough for me to know that they are all alphas.

“Nah. Who can say no to money? Especially those people that are doing businesses like this?“

“There's only one way to find out, then. Let's go and get this over with.“

Timothee only nodded as a response before he put on his mask and then quickly moved to get out of the car. Fredo did the same thing, opening the door for me, my mask to conceal my identity already put on my face, to get out as well.

“Are you sure you two will be fine by yourselves?" Fredo asks; worry and also alertness are very clear in his voice.

“We'll be fine,” I tell him with a single tap on his shoulder before making my way to the club, following Timothee.

People are staring at us. Most of them have baffled looks on their faces, while some of them look curious. I can also hear a few laughing while giving me a stinky look. I paid them no attention, though. I just continue to follow Timothee, who had a few conversations with the bouncer, probably to let them be aware of our presence. After Timothee's conversation with the bouncer, we were then escorted inside.

The whole club is full. It is loud, messy, chaotic, and dirty. And fuck, the smell is outrageous. Different smells and pheromones are permeating the entire club, and it almost made me puke.

Fuck! I hope this will be the last time that I will set foot in this place.

I tugged Timothee's jacket, then pulled him so that he could be close enough for him to hear me.

“Tell that guy to walk faster,” I tell him through gritted teeth.

Timothee just nodded again as a response before he talked to the guy that is leading us, who answered Timothee, but I could not hear him. But with the way our steps have doubled, it seems that he listened to Timothee.

The guy led us to a stair that is leading to the second floor of the club. I just reach the second floor when a woman suddenly bumps into me, causing me to almost lose my balance. Thankfully, I am quick enough to hold on to the railing, saving me and the woman from falling down to the first floor of the club.

My eyes went down to look at the woman, whose face is plastered to my chest due to her colliding with me.

“Are you alright?“ I ask her.

Hearing my question, the woman quickly raises her head. And when our gazes meet, her eyes immediately widen. Then she quickly takes a step away from me, acting as if she got burned by me. And that made me raise one of my brows.

“I'm sorry,” she said, her voice panicky.

I am about to speak and tell her that she should be careful next time, but before I can even open my eyes, someone has already grabbed the woman by her arm, causing the woman to shriek in surprise.

My eyes immediately turn to the man, who is holding the woman tightly by the arm; I'm sure it will leave a bruise.

I unconsciously growl. I hate seeing things like this. I hate seeing violence.

I am ready to speak again and call out the bastard holding the woman when another man, who comes from the same place that the bastard comes from, appears and calls my name.

“Landon Ford. I have been waiting for you.“

My eyes zero in on the imposing man. And without even thinking too hard, I immediately recognize who the man is.

It is no other than Victor, the mafia boss of one of the biggest mafia syndicates in the city of Corvalis, the owner of this club, and the man who I need to talk in order to make the first step of my plan to be successful, which is to find an omega that will pose as my fiancée.

Mandy“We're here,” Landon announced, which brought me out of my own swirling thoughts. From staring at the back of Fredo's head—I wasn't really staring at it though because I was too busy telling myself that I'll be fine and that I'll do a good fucking job in pretending to be Landon's fiancé—I turned to look at Landon. But my gaze on Landon did not last even for a minute as my gaze moved past Landon to watch the big and luxurious hotel right in front of us, where many people—rich-looking ones—come and go.My nervousness skyrocketed again.Shit! Can I really do this?A firm hold on my hand brought my senses back to Landon. I looked down to see it is his hand holding mine, then I looked at his face, which has a serious expression on it.“You're nervous again,” he states.“Obviously,” I answered, my voice firm and my breathing fast. “Fuck! What if I don't do a good job and we get busted?““Mandy…”“No, no. It's fine. I'm fine,” I said right away while shaking my voice. Then I took a cou

LandonAfter sending Timothee a message, telling him that we're on our way, I switched my attention towards Mandy, who is sitting right beside me and looking gorgeous but nervous. I swear I can feel her nerves skyrocketing. And I can't blame her for that. She just signed the contract yesterday, and yet I am already bringing her to what she calls the 'battlefield' today with a limited and rapid preparation. I am not even sure if she was able to digest and remember all the information I had thrown at her yesterday.“You're going to be fine,” I told her, making sure that assurance could be heard in my voice.“Don't say that,” she replied without looking at me. Her eyes are fixed on the back of Leo's head, but I know she's not really looking at that. Her mind is obviously on something else, and I bet my whole life that something else is my family. “You saying that only makes me even more nervous. I'd rather you tell me now that shit's about to happen, that your family is going to go crazy

MandyI took Timothee and Landon's words of advice—if I can call it that—and read everything that is written on the contract, and also yes, I acknowledge that not reading the final contract and just signing right away is a stupid thing to do, though I will never admit that to Landon. I will never tell that I got too excited and that I trusted Landon right away, which is wild to think about considering I only met him last night. But there's just something about the man that makes him look trustworthy in my eyes, making me believe and follow his every word, something that I never considered doing for an alpha.“Make sure to read everything properly. And if there's something you do not agree with, let me know so we can work it out,” says Landon, to which I only answered with a grateful nod.I guess it must be one of the reasons why I easily trusted Landon. Because he's considerate to an omega like me. With my line of work, meeting different alphas is nothing new. And in all the alphas th

Landon“This is the final contract. Make sure to read everything. If you have questions, feel free to voice them all out so that we can give you the answers you need and clear things out. And just in case you changed your mind and you want to add any terms or conditions you think are necessary on your end, please feel free to do so,” Timothee told Mandy as he handed the contract to the omega, who readily accepted it.“It's fine. I've already read everything last night, so—”A sigh from Timothee made Mandy stop talking. Timothee, who was sitting beside me, by the way, crossed his arms over his chest and gave Mandy a disappointed look. “I thought you were not dumb.”“I—”“If you really are not as dumb as what you were claiming, then you should know that reading a contract before signing is very important. It does not matter if you have already read it beforehand. You have reread everything before signing. You said that you know what you're getting into, but you're making it so hard to b

MandyIt's been more than ten minutes since I stepped inside Landon Ford's place, but I am still not over with getting amazed by everything that I am seeing.Like, seriously, am I really inside a big fucking house? One that I only saw on televisions, a house that I never even dreamed of stepping in?People might say that I am overreacting, but no. I am not. Any person, people like me, that has never been in an extravagant place will definitely have the same reaction.“How long are you going to keep your mouth open?“ asked Timothee, which caused my attention to be on him. He had just come back from the kitchen. He gave me the glass of juice that I chose when he asked me if I preferred water or juice right after we got inside Landon Ford's place. I accepted the juice with a small smile on my face while muttering a word of “thanks.“Timothee sits on the couch that is across from the one I am sitting on. He then looked at me, giving me a gaze that I cannot comprehend, making it hard for m

Landon“You will be at the party tomorrow at exactly seven in the evening,” my grandfather and the patriarch of our family, Alexander Ford IV, says while slicing a part of his steak. “The Spencers will be there, so I am expecting you to be on your best behavior. We cannot afford to give them, especially Sophia, a wrong impression.“ From his food, he finally raises his head to look at me and give me his usual stern look, then he says, “I am expecting you to be on your best behavior, Landon. You have to impress her, do you understand?“I am so close to rolling my eyes and clicking my tongue after hearing what my grandfather said.Asking me to be on my best behavior and to impress someone? Ha, what am I? A kid.Well, it's not like that's something unusual. My grandfather and the rest of my family still treat me like a kid, and no, I don't mean that they treat me in an affectionate way or baby me. It's the other way around.Maybe being treated like a kid is not even the right way to call
