Amy POV I woke up in tears, my hair and body drenched in sweat. Layla was in the dark; I could feel her pain, and a knife pierced my stomach. Layla POV I am glad Amy is here; she has always been the one I went to when things got tricky. I haven't told anyone else what Sasha and Isaac did to me in the cave. I giggle, watching Amy sleep; when drool runs down her chin. Amy has always been a late riser, so I climb out of bed, trying not to disturb her, and go for my morning jog. The last four weeks have flown by; Brea is a marvel with computers; I have put her in charge of our IT department, and she has three shifts of six wolves. We now have twenty-four-hour surveillance seven days a week. The barracks for the warriors have been started; every member of my pack is expected to work regardless of rank. Layla POV I can't take my eyes off the beautiful twin girls on my bed; I promised their dying mother I would look after them, and I will until I die; they have filled the hole in my heart. Amy sits beside me on the bed and asks, “Did she tell you their names, Layla?” I shake my head. “NO,” the poor woman didn't get the chance. I already know what I want to name them. Amy POVOnce we are finished feeding Ellie and Beth, we return to the bedroom to set everything up. Nathan POV I fucked up; Layla didn't leave me, she was taken from me by two psychopaths, and I can't kill them; she already has. What the fuck am I going to do to make this right. Guilt has been gnawing at my gut since Amy told me. Layla was the best thing ever to happen to me, and I blew it. Layla POV Ellie and Beth are growing so fast; they are constantly smiling; I can spend hours watching them when they are asleep or awake. Ellie started chuckling for the first time yesterday, and Beth followed minutes later. It's the best sound in the world when a baby laughs. I smile, walking to their cot to ensure they are still asleep before I go downstairs to meet Zach. We jog around the outskirts of town and meet Marian and Monique at the training arena. After the wolves have finished training, I ask Zach, Marian, and Monique to meet me in my office. I jog home and run upstairs for a shower. Layla POVI was hoping to get here before Nathan; he hasn't taken my eyes off me. Zach snorts as he says,“Is that him?” I nod. “Yes” “He's smaller than I thought he would be.”I laugh, shaking my head as I go to open the door and say,“Everyone is smaller than you, Zach.” Zach reached across my seat, putting his hand on mine,“Stay where you are, Layla; it's time to get this show on the road.” Then he climbs out of the car, nods to Jackson, and opens my door for me; when I climb out of the vehicle, he kisses me on my forehead before saying,“I will get the girls out, sweetheart, if you want to say hello to your mother.” I chuckle before whispering, “Omg, your crazy; please don't overdo it, Zach.” He winks and slaps me on my ass before opening the backdoor to get Ellie out. I can feel Nathan's anger reaching me from where I am standing; I take Ellie off Zach so he can get Beth and motion for him to follow me to the porch. Nathan smiles, saying, “It's good to see you, Layla.”
