Sabrina’s POV

I had barely gotten any sleep all through the remainder of the night which wasn’t a surprise.

My eyes felt swollen, my chest felt heavy and I had no idea what I was going to do from here on…

I stared up at the ceiling as I felt as though all the life had been zapped out of me.

My door burst open and I craned my neck to the side.

“Sabrina? You are still here?” Jane asked as she rushed to me and I had barely sat up before she threw herself at me.

My lips wobbled and the tears strea

Zenith’s POV “Any word on Aiden?” I asked as I held out a hand to Aria and she hooked her hand into my elbow.“You know if I found anything you would have been the first person I would have told.” She muttered as we approached the clearing where the other pack members had already begun the bonfire.I could feel how stiff Aria was and I stopped walking.“Hey, look at me.” I turned to her and used my finger to nudge her chin up.“We will find him alright? I promised you a long time ago and I intend to keep that promise.” I stared right into her eyes, willing her to hold onto the little hope she had left but hope, as they said, is a dangerous thing. What if we never found Aiden?I couldn’t keep making these promises to Aria when I was getting nowhere closer to finding him.“Do you really think it's a good idea inviting your brother?” I questioned as softly as I could manage and Aria sucked in a deep breath.“Well, he is already here so there’s no point deliberating whether or not it was

Sabrina’s POV I trudged through the gardens with my hands crossed behind my back. The evening air caressed my face and I closed my eyes as I tried to shut off the million thoughts in my head.“Sabrina, I’ve been searching for you all morning.” Aria announced and I snapped my neck in her direction. She stood beside the rose garden and I quirked a brow as my eyes moved to the side and landed on Gwen.“I need your help with something.” Aria announced as I stopped in front of her.“I doubt she would be of any help Luna, just this morning she was disrupting the work in the kitchen.” Gwen glared at me.“I would hardly call it disrupting…” I muttered.“There is an order at which the omega-”“That’s enough Gwen.” Aria cut her off and Gwen instantly fell silent.“Sabrina has proven to be of much help to me as my personal omega. I know it’s selfish for me to say this but I wished the council could keep you on as my omega.” Aria smiled and something within me growled.‘We weren’t made to serve

Sabrina’s povMy hands trembled as I stared down at the piece of paper.Who could have sent me this? How did they know I was meant to leave last night?Did Cassian say anything to anyone? No, that was unlikely. If word reached Zenith, Zenith would kill him for trying to help me.Jane…Something stirred within me and I shoved the note into my pocket as I made my way out of my room and made a beeline to the kitchen. My eyes scanned the room until my gaze landed on Jane who was doing the dishes.“Jane,” I called out to her as I approached me and she turned. Her lips curved into a small smile when her eyes landed on me and I wavered.“You look a bit better. Although your face is still swollen.” She commented as her eyes roamed over my face.“Did you drink the coffee I left for you?” She inquired and I nodded.“What’s wrong?” She asked as she stopped washing and turned to face me.“Did you…did you tell anyone I was leaving the pack?” I questioned and I watched her expression closely.Jane’

I couldn’t leave.” I muttered and Jane caressed my hair.“I’m s

Sabrina’s POV My eyes darted around as I tried to find somewhere Eli and I could hide but the rocks were too small to offer us any cover.I sucked in a deep breath as I tightened my hold on Eli’s hand. The footsteps were louder now and stopped just a few feet from me.“Take me and spare my son.” I declared as my heart pounded in my chest. There was no reason Eli should suffer because of decisions I made.“Turn around Sabrina.”It was Cassian. I turned sharply to him and I looked around but he was alone.I let out a sigh of relief as tears blurred my vision.“Why were you late? I waited for you.” I whispered.“I…got cut up in some work.” Cassian informed me and I nodded.“It doesn’t matter. I thought you didn’t keep your word but you are here now.” I pointed out as the corners of my lips tipped upwards.“How did you manage to find me?” I inquired and Cassian remained silent as he pressed his lips together. It was then I noticed it. The tense set of his shoulders, his hands which were

Sabrina’s POV My pulse quickened as I stared out of the window. Night had fallen but each second trickled by slowly. Why had Zenith come to my room? Had Cassian told him anything? No, if Cassian had said a word Zenith would have threatened me, had me locked up…he wouldn’t just leave. The noise in the pack slowly faded away as everyone went to bed and the ticking of the clock never sounded as loud in my ears before.I was leaving tonight…I was leaving Zenith.‘We can’t leave our mate. This is a bad idea Sabrina.’ The voice in my head announced.“I don’t have a choice. I won’t keep on staying in this pack, living like this and having my life threatened.” I retorted.‘I won’t let you leave. We need to stay close to our mate now more than ever.’ The voice pressed and my brows furrowed. Why did the voice keep referring to Zenith as ‘our’ mate?“Who are you?” I asked out loud and just like every time I asked that question, the voice fell silent. When the clock struck eleven thirty, I made
