CHAPTER 23

The next morning came with a banging headache and I prepared for work regardless. Funny how one's life could completely change in twenty-four hours, only to return to its miseries after it.

Pulling my hair up into a simple ponytail, I picked up my workbag and walked out of my room. Over the night, I had gone into thinking, and I had accepted my fate that I was my own savior. I couldn't keep depending on others to rescue me when I had myself.

Even the moon goddess couldn't save me.

I scoffed as I stared at my palm while walking down the road to the hotel. Legendary healer? What a sham! All I ever wanted was a normal life, a life like every other wolf.

Not this big title that can't even save me. If anything, it adds to my misfortunes.

It was a curse.

"Do you randomly give people curses or am I just born to be unlucky till death?" I asked, my gaze on my palm. "All I want is a normal life, a happy life, or a chance to freedom, but I got this bullshit instead."
