Poisoned Whispers

Nyla was angrily pacing in her room like a caged animal, still breathing heavily from the violent clash she had endured with Damon. He had gone as far as hitting her, and to make it worse, there had been no iota of remorse in him. Damon Grey, the mighty Alpha who had once promised her power, had turned his wrath against her, hitting her as if she was some lowly servant.

The insult was still burning her ego, hotter than humiliation she had ever faced. She replayed his words again and again in her head, each one filled with nothing but betrayal. He had threatened her, threatened her as if she was the enemy and not the rampaging savage who tore down half of the ceremonial grounds.

“Elena, Elena, Elena…” Nyla muttered bitterly, kicking the edge of her table in frustration. “Always Elena. He’ll drown himself in her memory until it completely destroys him from within.”
