Chapter 11

The sounds of the birds tweeting coupled with the sun rays illuminating the room forced my eyes open. I took deep breaths while I stared at the bedsheet with blank thoughts. It wasn't like I slept in the first place. All through the night, I couldn't stop thinking about the injustice my father had bestowed on me. I wondered how my mother was faring too, she was probably not in a good condition like I was.

I turned to my left and there she was sleeping with a bit of frown anchoring her face. She looked beautiful regardless. I moved closer, closing the gap between us and I felt her warm breaths gently swarm across my face. Her black hair had fallen into a mess and my right hand moved on impulse. I slowly placed the loose strands of her hair behind her ear. My eyes fell on her small red lips and I instantly remembered how she had kissed me last night. I gulped down my saliva as I popped my head closer. My fingers gently trailed across her ear to her cheek. I felt a burning sensation spro
