"Is he worth it?" Maverick, my father's closest guard asked as we struggled past the trees and its branches.

My gaze diverted from the map in my hands to him. I frowned at him and he shrugged. This was the first time in so many days he was speaking to me about Aaron. It's been four days now and we were yet to get to the forbidden lands. Left for me, I would have preferred to face this journey alone but my father wouldn't let me. If he could have his way, he would have accompanied me personally.

"I mean I don't need to tell you that the forbidden land is a dangerous place. There's a high possibility we might not survive once we get there." He continued but he only made anger sprout in me.

"No offence but all this troubles for a Wolfless man isn't worth it."

"You know, I preferred the version of you that was silent." I retorted and he heaved a light sigh.
