Chapter 16

My eyes itched badly as tears freely dropped from my eyes. The last time I cried like this was twenty one years ago, when my pack was attacked by another Pack. But this time, my pain was probably worse. It was eating me inside out, burning my insides without mercy, my heart thumped in pain with each second that came it felt like I was losing it. At the same time, I couldn’t take my eyes off Helene’s bed. I inhaled deeply and I felt anger and regret strike hard in me. This place used to be Helene’s room. The woman I loved, the woman that I had deeply offended all to protect my secret. My legs moved on impulse towards her bed. I sat beside it and my left hand gently swayed across the bed sheets. The memories we had together began to flood my mind and as much as I tried to stop it, our last encounter together vividly played before me.
