MasukEmily It was twilight already and the night’s air was colder. The moon shone brightly from its abode. I shut my eyes closed, pain eating through the depths of my soul, reminding me that I had yet to avenge my parent's death. It was a long time ago but sometimes it felt like it was just last night. I felt a pointed pain that could only be healed by seeing Asher's corpse and rippling out his heart right from his chest.I felt my skin vibrate from the cold air lashing and I pulled up the hood of my cloak, covering my hair properly as I descended down the stairs of the basement, and moved deeper into its darkness. With a snap of Gwen’s finger, yellow flames burned the wooden torches glued to the walls at every corner of the basement, illuminating the entire place. The coarse stone walls dripped with moisture, and the air was heavy with the tang of dampness. I couldn't halt the bizarre thoughts that rose in my mind. The truth was like a poison, seeping into my veins. After hearing that
Asher I held Kayla’s unconscious body in my arms as my eyes held fear and worry seeing her in such a horrible state. It scared me deeply. My fingers brushed back the locks of her black hair that covered her face. A broken sob left my lips in her bloody state. Her neck had been injured badly, with blood streaming out from there. I couldn’t hold back the tears that escaped my eyes. I couldn't hold the pain I felt within me. I wanted to release it. My lips flew open and a resounding agonizing growl left my lips. I hated myself, I did not think that killing the witch in an instant was the best decision. It did not satisfy me. I would have loved to hear her scream and suffer in full agony that alone would be able to atone for what she did to my mate. I heard hasty steps rush to where I was with my mate. It was Kayla’s family, Robin and a few of the warriors were beside me. Davies's hand fell on Kayla’s neck, inspecting her slow pulse. “What happened to her?” Davies' words were low and b
Asher My wolf paced at the back of my head. He's been strangely restless and on alert as if expecting something bad to happen. Well, I simply think he is like that because of the plan we had to lure Emily to the castle. I took a deep breath, fighting off my wolf’s growing discomfort. It was affecting me as I felt fear starting to creep in every second. I left the castle grounds after assigning the warriors that would be on tonight's patrolling shifts. I headed to my office. There were some pending matters relating to the castle that I needed to attend to. I settled down and started going through the papers on the desk when the door pulled open. I looked up to find Dami and Robin standing by the door, I nodded and gestured for them to enter. Releasing an exhausted sigh, my gaze found Dami’s eyes and I could see the fear and pain that were embedded in her eyes. The air became quiet. I had no idea what was going on but with how Dami and Robin's broken gaze held so much pain and fear,
Kayla “Look who we have here!” The voice sounded raspy and rough.I looked up so fast that I thought I had almost snapped my neck and my eyes fell on the familiar face I never thought that I would behold again. The silver-haired woman with jet black eyes and freckles all over her cheek. She straightened her head and I saw hate rooted in her eyes and all of it was directed at me. I tensed and began questioning myself and clutched my chest nervously. What could she possibly want with me? Could it be that she is working for Emily, I could still remember vividly how she took every opportunity during my sister’s nuptial vow to remind me of Asher’s undying love for Emily. Or maybe Emily had sent her over to finish me off. “What do you want?” I asked but was met with silence. The shadows in the sky were swirling around her, casting an ominous eerie gloom on my already petrified heart. “What do you want from me?” I asked again, forcing the words out of my mouth though my throat felt dry.
Kayla I exhaled deeply, my heartbeat fastening. I didn't know why but everything about tonight's plan gave me chills. I was strained both mentally and physically. My eyes met Dami’s. “I’m a nervous wreck, I have this weird feeling within me like something bad is about to happen. If Emily would come here, I doubt if she would come alone. If she happens to come with her witch friend that would be terrifying. How do we fight against her spell?” Dami pulled up from her seat and began pacing. She was silent and seemed to have fallen into deep thought. I let her be and simply watched her movements. And then, she suddenly stopped, turning to gaze at me. “Kayla, I won’t lie, what you just said is true and it would be dangerous for you and Asher. We all know that the witch in question is very powerful but the terrifying thing is that we don't know how to counter any of her dark magic.” Dami’s words made a knot in my chest, and I swallowed a lump in my throat, nudging her to continue.“Emil
Asher I was vibrating with so much rage and my eyes were a bloodshot red. My emotions were on overdrive. I was burning with rage for so many reasons, amongst which, was what that vile woman had done to Kayla. I clenched my arms as I prepared for what was to come. Something that should have happened a long time ago. Kayla’s words kept replaying in my head over and over again as I rubbed my face with my hands. I breathed in deeply. It was difficult for me to accept that Emily had planned all of this even before we met. Could it be that she loathed me all through the time that we were once married? The thought alone made my blood turn cold. I still couldn't figure out why she had done that. Kayla didn't get the chance to explain it to me but I kept on digging through my head in order to find answers. I couldn't see any reason why anyone at that time would ever find a reason to hate me. What could I have done to warrant this intense loathe from Emily? What offense did I commit?I kne
