Kayla

I closed my eyes, holding back the tears that yearned for freedom. I still couldn't believe that I had gotten married to Alpha Asher. I still couldn't believe everything had worked out so well

“ Kayla!”

I turned around to find my entire family members behind us. I felt tears trickle down my cheek at the broken looks on their faces. Asher’s eyes narrowed. “Go say goodbye to them and make it quick.” Immediately I rushed toward Celia. Her hands were sprawled open in the air, gripping me in a tight hug.

“ I’m so sorry Kayla, this was all my fault. I didn't know the council elders would offer you instead. It hurts me so much that you are married to that monster.” her voice croaked and she sobbed quietly while holding me closer to her body.

I shook my head “It's not your fault dear sister, I’m super glad that you made the right decision by staying with your mate. I will be fine, and don't ever blame yourself.”  I said, trying to wipe the tears that were streaming down my face. Maria moved over to us, joining in on the hug. After a while, we pulled away. I held both their hands, my blue eyes glistening. “ I will miss you, sisters. You guys have always been there for me and I will always cherish the memories we had together,” I said, smiling at them

“ We will miss you too Kayla, If you need anything, please don't hesitate to reach out to us,” Davies promised with a deadly glare sent in Asher’s way. I nodded and after saying my goodbyes to everyone, I and Asher got into the carriage as the coachman opened the door for us.

If the exterior of the carriage had been a sight to behold, the interior was plush too. It had soft cushions on either side, allowing passengers to be seated opposite each other. I sat on the opposite end of the seat while Asher was large enough to occupy the entirety of the right seat on his own. I observed the interiors. It has soft and comfortable padding throughout the ceiling and a small chandelier. There were small iron groves on all four sides in which small lanterns were placed. Lacy red curtains were covering the small windows on either side. The coachman began driving the carriage and soon we left the front porch of the council hall as the carriage trodded through the huge road.

We drove in absolute silence on our way to Asher’s home. Even when I forced myself to say something, what greeted me was a brutal silence. So, I decided it was best to keep mute. I looked outside the window, my mind occupied by a lot of thoughts as the council disappeared behind the trees. My gaze flitted back to Asher, leaning back on the carriage with his eyes closed. Since he was not looking at me, I began observing his features. He looked way too troubled and his body posture was tense and rigid. I was about to look away but Asher’s eyes flew open and he stared at me for a while before shutting his eyes again.

The uncomfortable silence lingered for hours as we drove past the mountains, to the other side of the East, into the capital which I heard was under his territory. After a while, we arrived at a humongous castle decorated with lights from the precinct to the garden to the rooftop. It was beautiful from the outside. Like nothing that I’ve seen before, it was truly a sight to behold. There were fountains and a beautiful flowery garden by the sides. The walls of the castle were adorned with the imposing visage of a wolf, fangs bared and eyes gleaming with an intense, almost human-like intelligence. The giant wolf’s face was intricately carved into the walls, with every hair on its fur and every detail of its features rendered in stunning realism. This wasn't exactly what I was expecting, It was far from it. It was an all-white castle that gave the illusion of a warm and serene abode. I kept observing the surroundings as if I were a young kid who had just stumbled upon a room full of chocolates. I watched as some warriors and omegas sauntered to us, bowing in respect to Asher. One of the warriors opened the door for us and I gently slid out, feeling everyone's curious eyes on me.

“Alpha!” A voice called out and I jerked my head in the direction of the voice. It came from a woman around my age. She was a stunning beauty with red-curly hair. She moved with a kind of elegance that suited her beauty.

She came to us, standing beside Asher. Her cold eyes were on me and there was a fire of rage flashing through her depths. I didn't need a soothsayer to know that she didn't like me.

Her gaze lazily traveled to Asher and a wide smile formed on her face. “ Asher.” The way she called his name made my stomach churn and dread began to settle in my heart.

I watched, as she leaned into his arms, placing a kiss on his lips, right before me, his lawful wife.I took an involuntary step back and it took me a moment to recover from what I had just seen.

“ Who is she?” I asked him.

Asher wrapped his hands around her waist, his eyes trailed from the woman, finding mine. “ She is Elena, my mistress.”

I stood deathly still, it was as if my insides were frozen and the deadweight of his revelation came crashing down on my heart. His words hit me like a prickly shard of ice, digging painfully into my skin. My fingers were icy cold and my heart hammered against my chest. My eyes kept darting from Asher back to his whore. I tried to calm my raging heart.

To say I was stunned would be an understatement. Of all the things I would have expected to hear, this was the most callous. If he had someone else, why did he accept me? Why then, did he get married to me?

Kayla When I woke up, it was already dark outside, the moon and stars were glowing up in the sky. I stirred on the bed, and Asher was still beside me. His manly arms were around my waist. I smiled, positioning my eyes to stare at him carefully. His blonde hair fell messily to his face, his low stubble framed his jaw so beautifully, and his cherry soft lips glowed under the moonlights that seeped through the draperies. I smiled naughtily, lowering my gaze to his broad arms and chest. I could see the outline of his abs and suddenly I badly wanted to run my fingers on it and wrap my legs around him. I was drowning deeper in my naughty thoughts when Asher’s voice filled the chamber. “You still can't get enough of me, My lady?” He asked, the gate of his eyes still shut but his lips formed a large smile while his hands pulled me on top of him. I used the opportunity to straddle him. “No, mate. I’m so deep into you to get tired,” I whispered over his lips, forcing him to pull his eyes ope

Kayla My eyes searched his face as my body was trembling with several emotions bubbling inside of me. “Are you trying to say I’m pregnant?” I whispered with eyes full of passion and happiness. Asher slowly nodded to confirm my question. My heart was beating so fast and I wanted to jump with joy. I was pregnant with Asher’s pup. I couldn't help but visualize us holding our child together. I couldn't help but imagine Asher carrying a child in his arms, that would be the most beautiful scene ever. He is so loving and caring when it comes to me that I knew that he would do the same to our child. Asher was staring at me, his eyes were guarded and I wondered if he was worried that I wouldn't want our baby. That would be silly of me not to want his baby. I didn't want just one baby with me, I wanted to have as many children as possible.“Kayla!” he called, his voice trembling as he took a step closer to me. He cupped my face as his amber eyes stared into my eyes, “You…you don’t want our b

Kayla I didn’t want Asher to live with the fact that he killed the woman that was once his wife. He doesn't deserve to live with that for the rest of his life. I watched as he continued to strangle her and I knew it was time for me to step in. I grabbed Emily by her hair and pulled her away from Asher. This was my fight and if I wanted her gone then I had to do it myself. “Let go of me, you filthy tramp,” She screamed, as I continued to pull her hair. I wanted to rip the hair out of her head in the most painful way possible and I think I had already done so to some of it. I could see a few strands falling on the ground and this was just the beginning. I pulled her far away from Asher to the meadow. With the witch dead, Emily was as worthless and powerless as a crumbled pyramid. “You’re truly a vile and ruthless being,” I spat at Emily. “All of these years, you have hated Asher for something that you should have thanked him for. Your parents were evil and Asher did the right thing

  • The Alpha’s Doom   Chapter 110- A being of shadow and death

AsherI had no idea what I had done as I lifted my head in surprise, gazing at the sky, and noticed that the beam of dark energy was colliding with the sun's rays. Its effect made the beam seem to be screaming like roaring thunder, the noise making our eardrums ring. The clouds began to thunder as the beam of dark energy stopped roaring. I heard a mumbling chant, followed by the witch’s sinister laughter that pierced through my heart and soul and I noticed that the black veil had begun to spread again in the sky. Her evil powers were overpowering the white witch and the hybrid fae and the only way for me to defeat the evil witch was to become as dark and vile as her. In my response for vengeance, I threw myself into the beam of dark energy as it began to vibrate violently. In the next second, it smacked me, pouring all of the dark power into me, consuming every nerve, every fiber of my being. “No, Asher, don’t—” Kayla screamed in horror. I could only hear her like a distant echo as

AsherI was crushing Emily’s windpipe and the next I heard was a chant and the shadow twine from the sky coiled around my hand, rising up my arms and shoulders like vines. I tried hitting the twine that were wriggling like serpents, trying to coil around my body and I kept hitting and deflecting them. The witch came out of her hiding place, looked at me with a scowl, and then shot her hand forward. All of a sudden the twines started slicing inside my skin. I could only stare as the rope pierced through my flesh and I lost hold of Emily’s neck on my hand. “It's payback time Asher, you can't win this war. I will kill your loved ones just like you did to mine then after that I will send you to the abyss to join them.” Emily said and threw her head back and laughed as the gloomy twines kept sucking at my flesh. Her gaze flicked to the twines that had all begun to pulsate as if they were swallowing something and transporting it back to her. The witch cackled and the shadow twines spread

  • The Alpha’s Doom   Chapter 108- Rage and pain of betrayal

Asher I ran outside the castle and noticed that a war had broken out and gave my wolf full permission to share partial control with me. My eyes began to glow brightly and my nails extended from the tips. I felt the ache in my teeth as my sharp canines lengthened at once. I made full use of my wolf’s side, plucking out the heads of Emily’s rogues and also invading the enormous magical energy sent by the witch. My sharp elongated claws dripped with their disgusting thick crimson blood.I pulled out the heart of a vicious rogue coming to me, my eyes flickered to some of my warriors in a fight with the rogues as well. My claws were dripping wet. I glanced around as my warriors fought against the rogues and the only sound that filled the air was growls, howls, and screams. It was already dead in the night and the foul odor of the blood and stench of death intermixed with the night’s air. We've been fighting for quite some time but so far there has been no sign of Emily and her witch. I t

Kayla I was weak. Very weak. My eyes were stinging from exhaustion that washed over me. I could feel my entire body on fire, while every bone in my body ached with pain. Asher I waited for Kayla’s family to do something to me after my confession but none of them moved forward. They just stared at me like I had lost my mind. Davies I took an indrawn breath, pinching the skin of my forehead. The last few days have been very tough and draining for me.
