Mercedes POV

I groaned as I stretched and slowly peered my eyes open. The early morning rays of light streamed through my window and I shielded my eyes.

My eyes focused on the glass of juice which had been brought up to me in confusion. Why would Mr. Ford offer me juice just out of the blue? My thoughts had been all over the place as I stared at the cup on my desk all night until I fell asleep.

I picked the cup up and made my way over to the kitchen.

I couldn't help but notice that the mansion was usually quiet and seemed empty, a large contrast from his busy it usually was by this time of the day.

“You didn't drink your juice?” A voice called out behind me and I turned to the maid who had delivered it to me last night.

“No, I totally forgot.” I muttered as I tipped the cup over and the juice ran down the sink. “What?” I asked when I noticed the woman was staring at me with wide eyes but she didn't reply. What was her deal?
