Mercedes' POV 

“I thought I would never get better,” Penelope told me as I gave her a spoon of chicken soup and she eagerly opened her mouth.

“Of course you were going to get better.” I replied as I handed her the bowl and watched as she struggled to feed herself.

“Miss Mercedes took care of you. Daddy says that's why you got better,”” Carter announced from beside me and my heart warmed.

“That was what your daddy told you?” I asked and Carter nodded.

I bit my bottom lip as I tried to stifle the smile which was forming on my lips.

“Thank you Miss Mercedes,” Penelope beamed up at me and I caressed her hair.

“Your welcome darling,” I replied as I retrieved Penelope's drugs from the drawer with a sly smile on my face.
