MasukMercedes' POV“I think we should go on a walk,” I suggested but Carter groaned.“I want to go on a picnic,” Penelope whined and I scooped her into my arms.“We've been on a picnic three times this week alone already. I think we need to do something else, something fun.” I suggested and the children didn't seem open to the idea.I chuckled as I stared at their pouty faces.“Daddy doesn't let us go far away from the house,” Carter explained but I knew he was merely searching for an excuse.“That's because you'll probably get lost all on your own but that's why I'm here. I'm sure he won't have a problem as long as you both are with me and I promise to watch over you.” I explained and Carter let out a sigh of defeat.“You are going to enjoy it, trust me.” I assured them as I placed the last line into Penelope's hair and smoothened down her hair.
Mercedes' POV “Goodnight daddy,” Penelope said with sleepy eyes and Bradley missed her head.Bradley and I had returned just in time to tuck the kids into bed and surprisingly, none of them asked questions as they noticed their father's mood.I bit my bottom lip as Bradley rose and turned to me. I silently walked out of the room, knowing he was behind me.Bradley had been silent throughout the ride back and I wished he would shout at me instead. I could tell he was trying to contain his anger.“Thank you for showing up when you did,” I muttered and Bradley let out a loud sigh.“What would you have done if I didn't show up?” He asked as he placed his hands against his waist.“I don't know, I would have figured something out I guess.” I shrugged and my nonchalance seemed to piss Bradley off even more.“Do you not care about yourself in the slightest? The streets were empty, that man could have done whatever it was he wanted to you.” Bradley pointed out and I knew he was right but I did
Mercedes' POVMy lips parted as I stared at the scene before me. Bradley kept on punching Dylan with all his might, each punch more lethal than the other.Dylan's face was barely recognizable as all I could make out was so much blood. Blood on his nose, on his lips and trailing down to his neck.Dylan tried to defend himself but Bradley's grip on his neck tightened and Dylan clawed at Bradley's hands as he choked and gasped for air.“Bradley?” I called out to him but he ignored me.Fear seized me as I shuffled closer to them but left just enough distance between us.“Bradley stop it. You are going to kill him and someone might call the police,” I called out to him but he still didn't seem to hear me.“Bradley!” I screamed his name with authority this time and he stilled.“Let him go, he's barely conscious as it is.” I told him and Bradley remained silent for a
Mercedes' POVWhy would Bradley arrange for all the charges to be dropped if he really was the one who leaked the information? It made no sense. How did Dylan come by this information? How was he so sure it was Bradley who leaked it?“Aren't you going to open it?” Dylan asked when I made no move to take the file from him but I shook my head.“I don't want to see what it has to say, I already know Bradley didn't do it.” I announced and Dylan's eyes turned sharp as he stared at me. My words shocked me as well but after saying them, I realized that I really did mean them.Somewhere deep within me, I was so sure Bradley wasn't the one who leaked the information. Call me stupid but I trusted him completely and the thought scared the hell out of me.“Are you fucking him?” Dylan broke through my thoughts and when my eyes focused on him once more, there
Mercedes' POV “Princess, what are you doing here?” Bradley asked Penelope as he scooped her up into his arms. His eyes met mine and I instantly looked away. What had I been thinking? What the hell was wrong with me?“Look at my hand,” I heard Penelope tell her father and I turned to them to find Penelope holding her hand up to her father's face.“What happened?” Bradley asked as he soothed her hand and gave her finger little kisses. My heart melted as I watched Bradley with his daughter. He seemed so soft, a vast contrast from the danger I had glimpsed in his eyes just a few moments before now.How had I ever thought he would be capable of murder.Bradley listened to Penelope as she explained how she got injured and he kept on giving her finger little soothing kisses. My traitorous mind couldn't help but imagine it was I he was giving those kisses. That he trailed wet, open mouthed kisses along my spine while his fingers intertwined with mine and pinned me against the bed.“Miss Merc
Mercedes' POV I inhaled the flowers as a smile graced my lips. The garden was beautiful, I wondered why I hardly came down here.I stalked deeper as my fingers brushed against the flowers and I stopped in my tracks when someone cleared their throat.“Mr. Ford,” I greeted.“I'm sorry, I didn't know anyone was here.” I muttered as I turned to leave.“It's okay, you can stay.” He called out behind me and I stopped.I bit my bottom lip as I contemplated actually staying. A part of me wanted to linger in Bradley's presence, to stay with him even if I had nothing to say and the knowledge that he was a wolf did nothing to ease the feeling within me.“I actually want to speak to you about something,” Bradley said and at that I slowly turned around. My heart dropped as I wondered if he had finally made a decision about what he wanted to do with me.“Did I do something wrong?” I asked and Bradley shook his head as he rose from the bench he had been seated on. As he approached me, I couldn't he
