DEBBY'S POV

__________________________________

"Jerry, do you think you can just vanish? Ignore school as if it doesn't exist?

It sounds sharper than I meant. Like a slap, the sound reverberates throughout the kitchen, bouncing off of all the marble and glass. The lights, the walls, and the lingering smell of his cologne are all cold in this house. Smoke and wood. Levin. He is present even when he is not.

Jerry is sitting at the island with his head down and his hood up. His fork drags through thick, cold sauce as it scrapes across the plate. He ignores me.

"One day, Mom," he whispers. His voice has recently changed; it is now deeper, rougher, and has an edge that was missing before. "I needed room. Crescent High is crazy.

Mostly to avoid shaking, I cross my arms. "Space? Jerry, we're hiding from people who would kill us. You are not allowed to take "space."

He doesn't take his eyes off the pancake. My words are instantly reflected back to him. The quiet passages are too long and heav

  • The Alpha's Ex Is Back With A Son   Chapter 47: Dangerous Call

DEBBY’S POV__________________________________I feel like I'm in a never-ending storm, my mind trapped in a swirling black void as I drown in this coma. My mind is keen and clawing for my son, Jerry, even though my body is useless and heavy as stone. Every vision of Jerry feels like a kick to the gut, and I'm Debby, trapped in this daze. With the bloodstone shard burning in his pocket and his heart pounding, he is out in the dark streets of Crescent City. It is drawing him farther into danger, and I can feel its pulse, like a heartbeat calling to his curse. That hunter girl I can't trust, Sasha, is with him, and I'm afraid she's taking him directly to Damon's wolves. As the haze changes, I see Jerry in a neon-lit street with a strong smoke and blood odor. His hands are shaking, his eyes are glowing red, and his alpha power is aching to escape. Beside him, Sasha is scanning the shadows with her knife shining and her blond hair pulled back. "This way," she murmurs in a low, urgent voic

  • The Alpha's Ex Is Back With A Son   Chapter 46: Torn Loyalties

JERRY’S POV__________________________________My boots are scuffing the stone as I stand in the mansion's courtyard, my heart thumping in my chest like a drum. The cold moonlight creates lifelike shadows that seem to be observing me. I'm Jerry, sixteen years old, cursed, and my eyes are burning red from this uncontrollable alpha power. Like a hot coal, the bloodstone shard in my pocket pulses in time with the voices in my head that tell me to fight, run, and kill. Even though I detest it, I can't let it go. Blood is dripping from Sasha's temple as she leans against the wall beside me. I'm the moron who followed her into that alley in the hopes of saving her, and she's hurt from our altercation with Damon's wolves.Levin is standing in front of me, his alpha aura weighing heavily like a storm, his dark eyes blazing. His voice reverberating off the walls of the mansion, he yells, "Jerry!" "Why in the world did you run off like that?" He's my father, but I've hated him for years because

  • The Alpha's Ex Is Back With A Son   Chapter 45: Planned Risks

DEBBY’S POV__________________________________I feel like I'm drowning in a black river as I go deeper and deeper into this coma, my mind a whirling jumble of whispers and shadows. My mind is keen and clawing for my son, Jerry, while my body is stuck, heavy, and useless. I can feel him walking through the shadowy streets of Crescent City, his hands gripping that accursed piece of bloodstone, his heart racing. Every vision of Jerry pierces me like a blade, and I'm Debby, stuck in this emptiness. I'm a helpless ghost watching my boy struggle for his life as he runs from Damon's wolves with Sasha by his side.As the haze changes, I see Levin in the war room of the mansion, his dark eyes fixed on a city map, his broad shoulders tense. I can sense that he is preparing a dangerous scheme to deceive Damon, the vicious alpha who is pursuing Jerry in search of the bloodstone. I see Levin holding a phony stone, its red glow a witchcraft fabrication. In order for Levin to save me and put an end

  • The Alpha's Ex Is Back With A Son   Chapter 44: Jealous Care

DEBBY’S POV__________________________________I’m trapped in a haze, my body heavy, like it’s sunk into tar. My mind’s awake, though, clawing through shadows and echoes, fighting to make sense of the world I can’t touch. I’m Debby, stuck in this coma, my heart aching not just from the wounds that put me here—taking claws for Jerry and that hunter girl, Sasha—but from something sharper, something that cuts deeper. Jealousy. It’s ugly, twisting in my chest as I see my son, my Jerry, in a vision so clear it hurts. He’s kneeling beside Sasha in some grimy Crescent City alley, his dark hair falling into his eyes, wiping blood off her cheek with a tenderness that stabs me. His eyes glow red, the mark of a true alpha, but they’re soft, too soft, for her.Why her? Why that reckless girl who drags him into danger? I raised Jerry alone, sixteen years of shielding him from the werewolf world I ran from. Now, he’s slipping, pulled by Sasha’s wild spark, her knife-sharp smile. I want to scream, t

  • The Alpha's Ex Is Back With A Son   Chapter 43: The Internal Battle

DEBBY'S POV__________________________________"You hear me, Debbie?"The voice emerges from the shadows. It's robust yet gentle. I am aware of it. Sasha.Even though I don't have a body here, I mumble, "Yeah." Only pain, light, and air. "Where are you?"No response. Then there was a cry that might have been Jerry's, followed by the sound of something heavy, like claws on wood.My chest gets constricted. "Jerry?"A faint red glow flickers through the darkness, like veins beneath the skin. I see shapes moving, possibly the docks, fire, or wolves. Then everything disappears once more."Debby, wake up."It's Levin. His voice makes me want to move and breathe. However, the dream keeps me motionless.I say, "I can't." "I've lost my body.""Then fight without it," he advises. His tone is one of exhaustion rather than anger. "You always did.""I no longer even know what is real."Once, he lets out a low, broken laugh. "What hurt

  • The Alpha's Ex Is Back With A Son   Chapter 42 – Torn Hearts

JERRY’S POV__________________________________“Jerry, move!”Sasha’s voice cuts through the noise. I duck as claws slice the air where my head was a second ago. The den shakes around us — wood splintering, growls echoing. The smell of blood is thick. Too thick.“I’m fine!” I yell back, though I’m not. My shoulder’s burning from where one of Damon’s wolves caught me.Sasha kicks a crate toward me. “Use it!”I grab it and smash it against the nearest wolf’s face. It goes down hard, but another one’s already coming. This one’s faster. I swing, but he knocks me off my feet.“Jerry!” Sasha cries.I hit the ground, wind knocked out of me. Everything spins. I hear her run toward me — her boots on the floor, her sharp breath — then a loud thud. When I open my eyes, the wolf’s gone. Sasha’s standing over me, holding a knife slick with blood. Her hands are shaking.“You okay?” she says.“Yeah,” I lie, pushing myself up. “You?”She wipes her arm across her face, leaving a smear of red. “Could b
