Nova’s POV.
Five years later... I pulled up to Amelia’s cozy house, Lily chatting excitedly in the backseat. Amelia has always been kind and helpful to us since we moved here five years ago. Lily felt comfortable with her, so I knew she would be well taken care of. "Mommy, I'll see you tomorrow, right?" she asked, her big brown eyes sparkling. "Baby. Be good for Amelia, okay?" I replied, smiling. Lily nodded, already distracted by her favorite cartoon playing on Amelia’s tablet. I hugged her tight, inhaling her sweet scent. "Love you, kiddo," I whispered. "Love you too, Mommy," she replied, squirming free. Amelia smiled warmly as she took Lily's hand. "Stay safe babes." I glanced at the clock – 8:45 PM. My shift at Eclipse Nightclub started at 9 PM. Lily is unaware of my job at the bar, and I intended to keep it that way, wanting to shield her from the realities of that environment. My job at the bar paid well. It was a necessary sacrifice to ensure Lily had the best opportunities in life. I rushed out, speeding toward the club. Traffic crawled, every red light taunting me. Finally, I arrived at 9:10 PM, flustered and breathless. "Hey, Nova! You're late," my colleague, Marcus, said, frowning. He has always been the one to cover up for me whenever I get late. "Sorry, Marcus. Traffic was a nightmare," I replied, hastily changing into my uniform. I clocked in and rushed to the bar, greeting the regulars with a forced smile. Another long night ahead. As I poured drinks and managed tables, my mind wandered to Lily, she was my ray of hope. This job wasn't glamorous, but it paid the bills. And for Lily's sake, I'd do anything. “Hey Nova, take the drinks to the VIP section,” Marcus says pushing forward the tray. “Hell no, please” I declined dread washing over me. The customers in the VIP are perverts and very disrespectful towards ladies. They are elite after all, and they can get anything with a snap of their fingers. Marcus sighed, “You know that only ladies are allowed in there, besides Emily is busy with the others,” he said. My wolf growled hating the idea as much as I do. I gulped down a lump picked up the tray and walked towards the section. I mumbled curses under my breath as I walked into the place. As I walked through the plush couches and dim lighting, my eyes scanned the room, assigning tables to memorize drink orders. That's when I saw him. Ice-blue eyes locked onto mine, familiar yet unsettling. My wolf growled, hackles raised. Shit, my thighs rubbed together as I bit on my lower lip. Somehow the face looked oddly familiar like we had crossed paths before. I approached the table, keeping a straight face. "Here are your orders,” I announce disposing of the tray on the center table. Those piercing eyes held me captive. Chiseled features, sharp jawline, and raven-black hair framed his face. Despite appearing to be in his mid-thirties, he exuded an ageless allure. My wolf's unease transformed into desire, something I hadn’t felt for years. Fuck! Who is this man? I tore my gaze away, discomfort burning within. As I turned to leave, a hand was held on my wrist. "Hey, don't go," one of the men said, his voice slurred. "Join us. Have some fun." I tried to pull free, but his grip tightened. "I'm not interested," I said firmly, trying to keep my composure. The man's smile turned ugly. "Come on, just one drink." I struggled to break free, but he held fast. That's when the man with the ice-blue eyes stood up, his eyes flashing with authority. "Let her go, Julian." Julian's grin faltered, and he released my wrist. "Sorry, man," Julian muttered, backing off. The man’s gaze met mine, a flicker of something unexpected there. I tore my gaze away rushing out of the suffocating place. The rest of the night went by like a blur and my shift was over. I got ready to leave pulling my jacket on and letting loose of my hair. “Goodnight Marcus” I bid him farewell. I followed through the back of the club, the place as quiet as ever. I pulled out my phone from my back pocket to check the time when I felt my body being pushed to the wall. My eyes met with Julian’s ugly smugness. “I can’t let a good slut go to waste,” he says before driving into his lips to kiss on my neckline. “What are you doing? Let go of me, please” I cried out trying to snatch myself away from him but who was I kidding he was way stronger than me. “C’mon, we both know you’re enjoying this, just loosen up” he states trying to claim my lips but I turn my face away which has him hissing in frustration. He pulled on my shirt, the fabric tearing and displaying my lacy bra. His hands went down to my jeans, I could almost feel his hands slipping into my panties. “Stop! Please” I pleaded. “I’m going to fuck you like the slut you—“ he didn’t get to end his statement cause he landed on the ground. My heart deopped as I sucked in a harsh breath turning to meet with his ice blue orbs. He launched on Julian and they both engaged in a fight with Julian being hit black and blue. I shivered in fear seeing how merciless the man worked his muscles. I tried to run but my legs won’t comply. I drew to the ground breaking into sobs. “Are you okay?” He asks reaching to touch me but I hurridly bolt up and run off as fast as my feet can take me. My heart hammered as those icy blue eyes clicked back to my head almost as though we had crossed paths with that man. Just who is he? And why did he smell like trouble?Lily’s POVI walk back into the school building, feeling conflicted and turned on at the same time. My heart is hammering in my chest as I think about those heated moments with Noah a while ago.I was still in shock, and I felt stupid at the same time; the way my body reacts to Noah is alarming, and I hated it.I try to shake off the feelings, but I can't. I feel like I'm in a daze, like I'm walking around in a dream. He was using me, and even though I was letting him, it made me feel stupid. He made it clear he doesn’t want me, and just when things are getting cool with Asher, he steps in and acts like he owns me. As I turn a corner, I bump into Asher. He's standing by his locker, with his eyes narrowed at me."Hey!Is everything okay?" he asks, eyeing me carefully.I nod, trying to play it cool as I bite my bottom lip, trying so hard to fight back the tears that threatened to spill. "Yeah, everything's fine."But Asher doesn't look convinced. "You sure? You look a little...off."Of

Lily’s POV I walk into the cafeteria with Anna, scanning the room for our usual spot. We're about to sit down when Asher steps up with a smile that never makes my heart skip a beat. "Hey, Lily, you're going to sit with us today," he says, taking the tray of food from me. I raise an eyebrow, taken aback. "Uh, I don't know, Asher. Anna and I were just about to—"He didn’t let me finish, “Sorry Anna, I will be stealing her away for today; I hope you don’t mind,” he asked. I shared a knowing look with Anna hoping she’d say no, but she only wiggled her brows at me with a mischievous smile dancing on her lips. “Of course you can; that won’t be a problem,” she responds. “Asher, but—“He beats me to it: “No buts; your friend already said yes, and if she doesn’t have a problem, you shouldn’t either. Please just come with me.” I try to protest, but Asher takes my arm and guides me toward the table where the rest of the guys are sitting. Noah, Liam, and Damien are all present.
Lily’s POV I was in my room alone a while ago when Maya stepped in and asked me to help her with her homework. We're working on a math problem, and Maya is struggling to understand it. I'm trying to explain it to her in a way that makes sense. I can see that hating math runs in the family blood because it is the same subject Noah has a problem with, but he is getting the hang of it now. I guess. Just as Maya is starting to get it, Noah walks into the room. "Hey, Maya, can I talk to Lily for a minute?" he asks. Maya looks up at me. Her brows furrowed in confusion because she was aware that Noah and I don’t get along so well; she looked a bit confused. But I nod. "It's okay, Maya. I'll be right back." But before Maya can get up, Noah says, "No, Maya, I mean you should excuse us and go to your room, he asks impatiently.Whatever it was he wanted to discuss could wait; right now I was helping Maya, and I didn’t want to be interrupted, or should I say, I wanted to use her as
Lily’s POVIt's been a week since that heated session with Noah. I still get tingling at the thought of it; I didn’t miss any chance I got to avoid Noah. And I could say I was doing a very good job. On the other hand, Asher and I were building a mutual understanding kind of relationship even though I asked him to take things slow, but so far I like him.I won’t say love, but like rather, he was better than Noah.Nicer, you mean... my instinct protests.Yeah! Whatever.I'm in the kitchen with Aunt Jess, making breakfast. She's scrambling eggs while I'm toasting bread.Aunt Jess turns to me and asks, "So Lily, how's school going? How has Seattle been treating you?" "It's going okay, Aunt Jess," I reply, trying to sound casual as though I wasn’t reminiscing about my heated moment with her son.Gosh! Aunt Jess smiles and says, "That's great, sweetie. I'm glad to hear that. Just then, Noah walks into the kitchen, shirtless and wearing only sweatpants. I feel my face heat up as I try
Lily’s POVI stood in front of the mirror, adjusting my outfit for what felt like the hundredth time. I was wearing a pair of dark-wash jeans, a white shirt, and a black jacket.I didn’t want to overdress; I just wanted to wear something casual and comfortable, and this was what I could find. This is a friendly date, nothing more. looked good, I checked my phone for what felt like the hundredth time, waiting for Asher's call. The only reason I agreed to this date is because I wanted to provoke Noah. I wanted him to know that he didn’t have a say in my life. My thoughts come short when the door bursts open, revealing a tempered scowl on his face. "What is it, Noah?" I asked, trying to sound casual. "You're not going anywhere," Noah said, his voice firm.I raised an eyebrow, feeling a surge of annoyance. "What are you talking about?" I asked. "You're not going on a date with Asher," Noah said, his eyes flashing with anger. I laughed at his audacity. "You have no ri
