Kael POV

I slammed the door to my chambers with enough force to rattle the windows, my chest was heaving with barely controlled fury. The sound echoed through the room like a gunshot, but it did nothing to release the rage burning through my veins.

Sylvester. My brother. My closest friend.

The man I trusted above all others had betrayed me in the worst possible way.

I paced across the room like a caged wolf, my hands were clenched into fists so tight my knuckles had gone white. Every breath felt like swallowing glass, every heartbeat a hammer blow against my ribs.

She had chosen him. My mate, my Luna, the other half of my soul …she had chosen my best friend over me.

The images from the banquet hall kept flashing through my mind on repeat. The way she had looked at him with such trust, such… love. The way his scent had been all over her, marking her as thoroughly as any bite could. The possessiveness in how he touched her, like she belonged to him… I couldn’t even sense the mark
