Hazel's POV

I stared at the closet, my fingers gripping the edge of the door. From the dresses to the makeup, everything was identical to mine. This was very calculated and deliberate.

She was trying to mimic my scent!

It was the only thing that made sense. As werewolves scent meant everything. It was how mates bonded, how attraction worked. Blaine was my mate. Even if he despised me currently, he was naturally drawn to my scent.

If Eloise had been wearing my perfumes, using my lotions and surrounding herself with my scent.... She wanted Blaine's wolf to mistake her for me.

The door suddenly burst open. I flinched as Blaine stormed in with Eloise trailing behind him. His eyes landed on me, blazing with anger.

“What the hell are you doing?” he snapped. “Going through someone else’s things?”

I opened my mouth, but nothing came out.

“It’s an invasion of privacy,” he continued. “Have you lost all sense of decency, Hazel? Is this how a Luna behaves?”

I turned to Eloise. She stood behind him, her head lowered, eyes red as if she had been crying.

Anger flared up in my chest. She was playing the victim card again.

Blaine didn't even glance at her. “You left her in the hospital, Hazel. She was coughing up blood, and you just walked away. She is your sister! What kind of person does that?"

"I walked away?" I snapped back. "I was protecting myself! I came to the hospital alone, pregnant and waiting for you to show up. You never showed up for your pregnant mate, but you showed up for her sister who had a mere dental appointment!"

"Well, guess what? She has a throat infection now!" He roared, which made me stagger backwards. “Your own sister was suffering, and you couldn’t even stay to see if she was okay.”

Eloise shook her head, sniffling. “It’s fine, Blaine. Hazel is pregnant. Maybe she’s just been feeling overwhelmed lately.”

Blaine gently pushed her away. “That’s no excuse for being so indifferent.”

I felt like I was suffocating. Eloise had done it again. She had twisted the truth just enough to make herself look like the wounded one while I stood there like the villain.

Blaine turned back to me. “Speaking of which... There’s something else. You still haven't told me who that man at the hospital yesterday was."

"What the hell?"

“You still haven’t explained,” Blaine pressed. “You were with him, weren’t you?”

I could see where this was going.

“Are you cheating on me, Hazel?” He asked.

I gasped. "No!"

“Then answer me,” he growled. “Who the hell is the father of that bastard inside you?”

"You're the father!" I yelled. "And my children are not bastards!"

Blaine let out a wolfish snarl and grabbed my hand, yanking me toward the living room. My feet barely kept up, stumbling over the floor as I struggled to free myself.

"Let go!" I hissed, but he didn't listen.

The moment we entered the room, conversations died. I saw all the warriors that were freshly returned from battle, as they turned to watch us. Their expressions shifted from exhaustion to shock.

Humiliation burned through me. I was their future Luna, the woman meant to stand beside their Alpha. Yet here I was being dragged like some misbehaving child.

"Blaine!" Alpha Harris called out behind us.

Blaine stilled and released his grip on my arm. His father stepped forward, rage darkening his features. Luna Astra followed closely behind.

"Have you lost your damn mind?" Alpha Harris thundered. "Never.... never lay a hand on your mate like that again!"

Blaine let out a hollow laugh, shoving me away as if I disgusted him. "My mate?" He gestured toward me wildly. "You mean the woman carrying another man's child?"

Gasps rippled through the room. "You’re out of your mind!" I seethed. "Blaine, you're crazy!"

Blaine sneered. "I saw you with him, Hazel. That doctor. I saw you laughing and whispering. How long has this been going on? Tell me, you whore!"

Tears were gathering in my eyes at this point. How could Blaine do this to me?

"That doctor ran my prenatal tests, Blaine. He checked my vitals. And in the few hours I spent with him, he treated me better than you have in three damn years."

The room was so silent that I could hear the chirping of birds outside. Blaine’s jaw ticked but before he could speak, warm hands touched my shoulders.

"Come, child," Luna Astra murmured in my ear. She reached up, wiping a tear from my cheek. I hadn’t even realized I was crying.

I let her hold me but only for a second. Then I stepped away from her. I wasn’t done with Blaine.

"You want the truth?" I asked him. "Fine. The baby is gone."

"What?" Blaine and his father yelled in unison.

"A car accident yesterday. The man you saw was just a kind stranger who helped me."

Luna Astra gasped. Alpha Harris looked stunned. Blaine’s face twisted, and I thought I saw something like guilt in his eyes. Or was it fear?

It didn't matter.

"You did this, Blaine," I whispered. "You ignored me, you humiliated me, and now… you've lost everything. I want a divorce."

The room erupted. Shocked murmurs filled the air, but before anyone could interfere, Blaine lunged.

I barely had time to react before he grabbed me again, dragging me out of the room.

"Let me go!" I fought against his grip, but he was too strong.

His parents shouted after him, but he ignored them. He pushed open a side door, yanked me inside and slammed it shut. The lock clicked.

I whirled around. "You can’t just..."

"You're not divorcing me," he growled. He was panting so heavily I could feel and hear his heartbeat. His hands curved at his sides. But his eyes... his eyes weren’t just angry. They were afraid.

I laughed bitterly. "Oh, now I see."

He paused his panting to ask. "See what?"

"You never married me for love. You married me because you needed my pack," I continued, watching his face grow red. "With my father’s warriors, you could defeat the rogues. But if I leave, Night Howler pack's support leaves with me."

Blaine said nothing, so I continued. "And my parents? After the way you’ve treated me, they’ll never let you marry Eloise."

I saw the truth in his silence, and it was pathetic. I lowered my voice just enough so he would feel every word.

"I reject you as my mate. And I hope you burn in hell, alongside my sister."

  • The Alpha’s Forsaken Luna    Chapter 30

Hazel's POVPeace is a crying baby at 3 a.m., a bottle knocked to the floor, and a mate mumbling half-asleep curses as he searches under the crib. Peace is the smell of formula and burnt toast and Roland singing lullabies off-key in the kitchen while Elias tries to mimic his howl. Emery prefers silence, always watching, always tucked against my chest like the world might take him if he blinks too long. Our new life isn’t perfect. But it’s real. The day after the wedding, we moved into the old Alpha’s cabin. It still smelled faintly like cedar and blood, but Roland made me promise we’d fill it with new memories. We repainted the walls, replaced broken furniture, and built cribs side by side in what used to be a weapons room.Funny, isn’t it? That the place built for war is now where our children sleep.Roland has this laugh—low and rumbly like thunder on the edge of a storm. I hear it more now, especially when Elias tries to shift early and ends up stuck halfway, all fur and tantrums.

  • The Alpha’s Forsaken Luna    Chapter 29

Hazel's POVWe named them Elias and Emery.I whispered their names the first time I held them, still slick from birth, still blinking against the light of the world they didn’t ask to be born into. But the moment I felt their weight in my arms, everything inside me shifted. It wasn’t just about survival anymore. It wasn’t about heartbreak, or revenge, or the mess we all left behind. It was about them.Elias cried first—sharp, angry, full of fight. He came into the world with his fists clenched and a growl I swear wasn’t entirely human. Emery followed quietly, like he knew his brother had already done the yelling for both of them. His eyes were still closed, but his little hand found mine, gripped my pinky like it was a promise. They smelled like warmth. Like hope and fur and rain-soaked leaves. Like everything I’d been holding out for in the quiet hours of the night when grief tried to crawl into bed beside me.Roland was there, by my side the whole time. He never flinched—not during

  • The Alpha’s Forsaken Luna    Chapter 28

Hazel POVThe pain came like a wave crashing through me—sharp, sudden, and impossible to ignore. My knees buckled on the hospital floor, and I barely caught myself against the wall before I cried out.“Hazel!” Roland’s voice was tight with panic. He was at my side in seconds, arms steadying me, but I couldn’t even speak. Another contraction tore through me, dragging a sob from my throat.“It’s too soon,” I gasped. “They’re not supposed to be here yet.”“I know, I know,” he murmured, wrapping his arm around my shoulders as he flagged down a nurse. “But you’re strong. You’ve got this, Hazel.”I couldn’t even focus. My mind was still tangled in grief. Eloise was gone. Just hours ago, I was holding her hand as her life slipped away, feeling the loss settle into my bones like frost. And now—Now my children were coming.I wasn’t ready. But they didn’t care. Life never waited for anyone. The nurses wheeled me into a room, asking questions I couldn’t answer. The lights above me blurred into

  • The Alpha’s Forsaken Luna    Chapter 27

Hazel POVThe scent of antiseptic hung thick in the hospital air, clinging to the back of my throat like guilt. Everything felt too loud and too quiet at once—Eloise’s heart monitor had flatlined, and now there was only the endless, ringing silence that came after.I stood frozen, my hands shaking, arms clutching my swollen belly as if that alone could keep me upright. I couldn’t stop staring at her. Eloise. My sister in all the ways that mattered, even if we spent most of our lives pretending we weren’t.She looked peaceful now, a cruel contradiction to the way she’d lived—chaotic, angry, misunderstood. Her skin was pale, lips tinged blue. Roland had done everything he could—his hands slick with blood, his voice tight with desperation—but it hadn’t been enough. Not for her.A single sob ripped from my throat before I could stop it.“Hazel,” Rolland said softly, placing a hand on my back. “We should—”“No,” I whispered, shaking my head. “No, I’m not leaving her.”He didn’t argue. He k

  • The Alpha’s Forsaken Luna    Chapter 26

Hazel POVThe sun was just beginning to set when Alpha Harris and Luna Astra returned back to the mansion. Their faces were lit with a rare sense of ease, the kind that comes after a battle has been paused, even if not yet won. At least an alliance has been made.“They’ve agreed,” Alpha Harris said, stepping out of the car with purpose. “ Hazel, your father and I have formed a pact again. No more delays. No more distrust.”I nodded, though the ache in my chest hadn't eased since this morning. Roland hovered by the porch, arms folded across his chest, unreadable.“The rogues won’t stand a chance now,” Harris added, his voice lower but laced with resolve. “We’ll hit their borders at sunrise in two days. Coordinated attacks, no more scattered efforts. The warriors will be briefed by nightfall.”I should’ve felt relieved. I should’ve felt something more than this strange stillness swallowing me whole.“That’s good,” I whispered. “Really good.”Rolland stepped forward, reaching for my han

  • The Alpha’s Forsaken Luna    Chapter 25

Hazel's POVThe moon was just beginning to rise, casting silver ribbons across the forest floor.I stood on the porch of our pack house after I had been welcomed back home, arms folded tightly across my chest.I watched the flicker of torches in the clearing below. Tonight was a meeting long overdue–one I never thought I’d live to see.Blaine’s parents were here. And so were mine.Alpha Rowan and Alpha Harris stood facing each other in the open, flanked by warriors and family. The tension in the air crackled like the sky before a storm, heavy with years of mistrust, broken promises, and bloodshed.I spotted my mother near the firepit, her arms wrapped around herself like a shield. She looked tired. Not from age–no, Luna Giselle was still as regal as ever–but from the weight of everything we’d lost. The war with the rogues had left scars, not just on the land, but on every one of us.And yet, here we were. Trying to piece something together from the ruins.“They’ve already agreed to th
