Ava could not believe that the day had finally arrived, calling a taxi, she left her son’s apartment and travelled to the dealership which was over two hours away.
Sitting in the back seat, barely taking note of the scenery passing by, she pondered over the events that had led her here to this point in time, making this journey to fetch a uniquely designed vehicle, a one of a kind car, something she would not have considered over a year ago...
Life had not always been so easy for her, about four years previously, out of the blue, her husband of almost twenty years of marriage, up and left her for a younger model, aka…his personal assistant, leaving her and their sons destitute and homeless.
He and his personal hoe, had been selfish and greedy, destructive in so many levels, hurting those around them, without a care in the world.
Her ex had taken everything, leaving her with only the clothes on her back, it had been a bitter and lengthy divorce.
Because he had money and status on his side, she could not prove the infidelity on his part, he had found a way of making himself look like a saint, she sometimes wondered if the judge and lawyers were part of his groupies, hence the reason she was left with nothing, whilst her ex and his whore walked away with everything.
She and her sons were forced to move out of the family home.
They had moved back to her hometown to live with her parents, her ex had completely turned his back against his own sons, especially because the boys had sided with her, rather than with him and why wouldn’t they, they had seen what their dad had done.
She had tried to get back on her feet, but it was not easy, having been a stay at home wife and mother, she had no experience in the job market, luckily a friend of her parents offered her a job, though it was low paying, it was enough to help in some way.
Her sons worked part-time and tried to finish their studies, which she was adamant that they would not give up, they needed a degree to get somewhere in life, a high school diploma would only get them so far…
There were times that things were tough and to the point of desperation, almost penniless, without any future prospects, when things seemed to be reaching breaking point, Ava had gotten lucky in a quick pick lotto game, winning millions.
Though in retrospect she should be grateful that her mother insisted she play the game, her mother had given her some change, saying what could it hurt if she didn’t try occasionally, lightly pushing her to take a chance in the game, Ava had shaken her head and submitted to her mother’s insistence.
And from that day, life had changed for the better, she not only was able to help herself, but she had been able to help both her son’s get back on their feet and finish their studies, also she had been able to help close family who had been there for her and the boys, as well as now being able to splurge on a car that she had always dreamed of one day owning.
Her ex had never gotten wind of her winnings, her family making sure that they kept it all under wraps and her newly appointed lawyers made sure that every little penny was secure and safe, so that should her ex ever find out, he had no way of getting his grubby paws on it.
Now…she was on her way to the dealership, she had looked everywhere across the country for a specific vehicle and finally one day, whilst she was on the internet, she found the perfect one, she looked no further, she had finally found the car that she had always dreamed of one day owning.
After much internal debate and discussion with her kids, she finally decided that she deserved the treat.
She had come upon a web page called Hunter’s Designs, intrigued and interested, she had logged in and what she saw got her hooked, they had a large variety of uniquely designed vehicles, catering to their clients’ needs and tastes.
Therefore, she made contact with one of the sales people and that is where she met a sales woman called Vanessa.
Vanessa had been very friendly, but then again, if you are trying to sell something that expensive, you have to be…
However, Ava had gotten the impression that Vanessa was a genuinely nice person over the course of their acquaintance, they had become good friends during the two weeks that they had talked and communicated, not always discussing business, sometimes it had gone into personal information.
“We are almost there, Ma’am.” The taxi driver spoke, her thoughts interrupted by his deep voice.
Rubbing her hands nervously on her jeans, “Thank you…” She replied, giving him a smile, staring as they reached a rather large building, modern in structure, with steel and glass, the landscape of greenery surrounding the premises, softening the harsh lines of the building.
The vehicle finally came to a stop, Ava thanked the driver, getting out and taking a moment to take in the view and compose herself.
Finally taking a deep breath to calm her nerves, she straightened her shoulders and walked towards the entrance of the large building before her, trying her best to look outwardly confident, even though inside she was trembling with nervous excitement.
Entering the building, Ava scanned the area, searching for Vanessa, she had skyped often enough with the other woman to be able to recognize her in a crowd, a smile forming on her face, the moment her gaze landed on the redheaded woman approaching her.
“Hello Vanessa…” She spoke, her hand outstretched, still smiling.
“Ava, my dear…you are even prettier in person.” Vanessa teased, laughing as she saw the blush forming on Ava’s cheeks, taking her hand and giving it a firm gentle shake, “We finally meet in person.”
“Thank you…” Ava mumbled out, feeling rather embarrassed and slightly flustered, not sure on how to respond to the somewhat light teasing, she had always been complimented by many for her natural looks, though it was the first time that a woman had been direct or so forthcoming, luckily she knew that Vanessa was married, otherwise this teasing would have been rather awkward on both their parts.
“Come…how was your journey, are you excited about today, would you like to see the car first or get the paperwork out of the way first?” Vanessa fired off question after question, too excited with what she was sure was going to be a perfect match for her brother-in-law, gazing down at Ava, more than happy that her instincts were correct, Ava was a sweet shy woman.
“Whoa…woman!” Ava eventually spoke up, laughing at Vanessa’s excitement, “One thing at a time, I just got here and my trip was great, thank you for asking.”
Vanessa laughed, “Sorry…I don’t know who is the most excited about today.” Leading Ava towards her desk, “Let’s take a seat and just get this paperwork sorted out first, would you like something to drink?”
“No thank you…” Ava replied with a smile, both women then proceeding to look over the documents.
Cade stood at the altar, a smile on his face, as he watched his mate walk down the aisle towards him.Her cream-colored empire wedding dress accentuating her beauty.A lacy fitted bodice skimming her full breasts, dipping into a V at the front, a wide sash just beneath her bust, then chiffon flowing down towards the ground, her feet covered in dainty ballet shoes. Her hair flowing freely behind in silken waves, only a simple halo of flowers on her head.Ava had wanted to keep things simple and didn’t want to draw too much attention. But, the cat was out of the bag, as he grinned at his mate, his smile widening as she rolled her eyes at him, a quirky smile on her lips.He could only chuckle, as his gaze skimmed down, landing on her small protruding belly, both him and his wolf puffing up in pride and arrogance, knowing that they were still highly fertile and virile.Their mate was pregnant. For a brief moment, he wan
It was the grating sound, like nails along a chalkboard, which woke Ava up, chilling her to the bone, she had been in and out of it for a while.Since her capture, a sense of time had evaded her mind, unsure of where or how she got here or even how long she had been in this place. Here, being a dark and danky place, the smell of mildew surrounding her.She was unable to move, having noted during her waking moments, that she was tightly tied down, her hands tied behind her back, her feet apart, the rope firmly tying them around the chair’s legs.Another rope tied around her waist, keeping her upright in her seat. Her head ached, especially at the back, the memories crashing into her conscience, as she remembered bits and pieces, of how she had gotten into this dire situation. The first emotion being anger, as she lifted her head and gazed at the monster before her, the one who had put her in this predicament, the one who had falsely thr
Cade hightailed it too the designated location, mindless of the speed he was travelling. His brother’s tone and a sense of foreboding urging for him to get there as soon as possible. The address given by his brother was an old abandoned motel, just a few miles north of where Ava’s hometown was, it had taken him just under thirty minutes to get there, would have been more if he had been driving a car, but since he had his bike, he could easily zip in and out of traffic.Stopping beside his brother’s truck, Cade took off his helmet, taking in the surrounding area, it was a little bit off the beaten track, slightly tucked away, the tropical growth starting to take over, camouflaging the abandoned building, anyone passing on the main road, would not have known that this was here.“Matt…” He called out, wondering where they were as he made his way towards the building, surely they would have heard him, it’s not like h
In the early hours of the next morning, while Ava slept peacefully, Cade had gone over the previous day’s events. The barbeque had gone off without a hitch, it had been a success, despite the issue of the threat hovering in the background or Ava’s sister surly mood.Everyone had retreated to their homes, with promise of meeting up again often. The two dogs still had to be taken by his brothers, Cade didn’t want any distractions, especially since his ex was still out there, nobody had been able to find her, the tech guys were working their butt off trying to ping an exact location, tracking her phone, but each time they got close, it seemed to escape their grasp at the last second and go off the radar.Even his trackers had reached a dead end, the scent on the note had taken them round and round, like a merry-go-round, it was like someone had dropped the note from above. If he believed his ex could fly, he would have thought that s
“Finally…” Matt teased, entering Ava’s home a few hours later, “Was wondering when you guys were coming up for air.”“Hush…” Vanessa, his wife scolded, “You are no better, given the opportunity.”Matt grinned at his wife, “True…” Agreeing with her.The Hunter clan all filed in, adults and kids, filling Ava’s home with laughter and noise.Ava was introduced to Cade’s kids first, she was nervous, but they seemed to genuinely accept her place in their Dad’s life, both embracing her whole-heartedly.Then his parents were introduced, they had come down with Luke and his family.Ava had also invited her parents and her sister, her parents had gotten on well with everybody at the first introduction.Though her sister, Claire was a different issue, she stood apart, watching proceedings with a slight upward tilt to her nose.Ava and
After having taken care of her needs, Ava sat back contently in Cade’s embrace. He had explained everything on what had happened while she had been out, as well as explain to her the transformation that had happened once he had marked her.Of course, there would be more questions, but at that moment, she just wanted to savor the feel of having his arms around her, her body lax and content. They had moved outdoors, laying in the large hammock, under the shade of a large tree, each enjoying the peace and quiet.Even if it would only be temporarily, both knowing that a threat still lurked nearby.Cade held Ava in his embrace, her head on his chest, his hand stroking her back absentmindedly, ““You know, I would like for you to meet the rest of my family...especially my kids.” He began, might as well get this over with, his kids had been nagging to meet Ava from the get go…but he had been reluctant, wanting first to form a
