Vanessa’s phone pinged, apologizing to Ava, she quickly scanned the message, a smirk forming on her face, it seems that her dear brother-in-law took the bait, now they had to see how things panned out for the rest of the day.
Ava had finally signed all the necessary documentation and according to Vanessa, they would be sent to the DMV, to get stamped, sealed and sorted.
And whilst she waited, Vanessa would show her the vehicle that she had fallen in love with and bought.
Following Vanessa to a section of the showroom, her newly acquired car was parked in a corner, under a showroom light, its design drawing one’s eyes to its slick lines and colors.
Her body trembling with excitement, the moment she had been waiting for almost at an end, soon she would own something that she had always dreamt of having one day.
Ava could only smile, up close and personal was definitely different from pictures that she had seen and seeing the car in person was worth every penny that she was paying for it.
Moreover, in the colors she loved, black and grey, the decal on the vehicle was perfect, the waves seamlessly blending together along the sides, the sporty, yet bulky look of the car, all combining to make the vehicle look dark and dangerous.
Vanessa continued to give Ava the lowdown of the car, talking about all its features and top of the line gadgets, all made to make the driver’s experience comfortable, safe and pleasurable.
While she kept a discreet gaze on her brother-in-law who hovered in the background.
Whilst Ava was busy inside the car, Vanessa sent a text to her hubby, telling him what Cade was doing, laughing as she received a response soon afterwards.
Yep…Cade was definitely hooked, both Vanessa and Matt were happy so far about the positive outcome of this day so far.

Matt strolled back into the dealership, making a beeline for his wife, wanting to be introduced to the woman who had his brother hooked and who just might be his future sister-in-law, reaching Vanessa, he wrapped an arm around her waist, leaning down and placing a kiss on her cheek, “So is your client happy…” He queried, giving a friendly smile to Ava.
Ava’s eyes widened, looking at this man who had approached her and Vanessa, her mouth nearly dropping open at his size, he was a giant compared to most adult males she had met in her life.
Vanessa smiled at Ava, “This is my husband, Matt.” She introduced, leaning lovingly against her husband.
Ava greeted Matt, still in awe of his size, taking in his black hair, tanned complexion, rugged masculine features and grey friendly eyes.
For some or other reason she was drawn to the couple, not even in fear of the giant before her, for some reason she felt safe with him, like she could trust them with her life…
All three of them took a few moments to converse and as time passed, Ava was able to finally relax, actually enjoying her time with the couple, feeling as if she had known them for a long time, they seemed to be down to earth people, not stuck up in their ways.
Matt glanced briefly at his watch, “I’ll let you ladies get down to business, I have taken enough of your time.” Smiling at both of them, giving his wife a kiss again on the cheek, hand outstretched, taking Ava’s hand and giving it a gentle squeeze, “It was a pleasure to meet you, I hope that Nessa can convince you to have dinner with us sometime soon.” He spoke kindly.
Ava smiled and thanked him.

As for Cade, he still hovered in the background, trying to discreetly get a closer look at the woman, frowning and scowling as he was constant blocked by something or other, unable to get closer or get a good look at her.
Moreover, he was getting angry, whenever one of the men on the showroom floor would ogle at Ava, not liking that they were openly admiring her, a sense of possessiveness overcame him, his wolf growled internally, wanting to gauge their eyes out, nobody was to look at her like that, unless it was only him, he thought to himself.
Both Vanessa and Ava had gone back to the desk after Matt’s departure, Vanessa was trying to find a way of delaying Ava’s departure, finally coming up with a brilliant plan.
“Um…sorry dear, according to my assistant, it seems that the DMV is currently offline, so the paperwork is going to take bit longer.” Vanessa apologized, making it seem that she had received a message on her work computer, “Would you perhaps like to go somewhere for lunch, instead of waiting here…?”
Ava smiled, slightly disappointed with the delay, but she could hardly blame Vanessa, “That would be lovely, is there perhaps a good burger joint you could recommend that is nearby and an address?” She asked, looking down at the time on her watch, realizing it was already after twelve and she was rather hungry, she had been too nervous to eat that morning, only able to have a cup of coffee, so it was no surprise that her stomach chose in that moment to growl in protest, flushing slightly in embarrassment.
Smiling triumphantly secretively, having Ava fall into her trap, “There is someone here who can take you…he knows all the best places and you can trust him.” Vanessa replied, texting Cade while she spoke.
“Just point me in the right direction and I’ll just catch a cab, you don’t have to bother anyone on my behalf…” Ava rushed out, trying not to be a bother, she really didn’t like to be a burden.
Vanessa waved her off, “Nonsense, you are my client and friend.” She argued kindly, “I would have gone with you, but I need to sort this paperwork for you…” Lifting her gaze and looking behind Ava, a smile on her face, “Ah…here he is…our savior!”
Cade stood at the altar, a smile on his face, as he watched his mate walk down the aisle towards him.Her cream-colored empire wedding dress accentuating her beauty.A lacy fitted bodice skimming her full breasts, dipping into a V at the front, a wide sash just beneath her bust, then chiffon flowing down towards the ground, her feet covered in dainty ballet shoes. Her hair flowing freely behind in silken waves, only a simple halo of flowers on her head.Ava had wanted to keep things simple and didn’t want to draw too much attention. But, the cat was out of the bag, as he grinned at his mate, his smile widening as she rolled her eyes at him, a quirky smile on her lips.He could only chuckle, as his gaze skimmed down, landing on her small protruding belly, both him and his wolf puffing up in pride and arrogance, knowing that they were still highly fertile and virile.Their mate was pregnant. For a brief moment, he wan
It was the grating sound, like nails along a chalkboard, which woke Ava up, chilling her to the bone, she had been in and out of it for a while.Since her capture, a sense of time had evaded her mind, unsure of where or how she got here or even how long she had been in this place. Here, being a dark and danky place, the smell of mildew surrounding her.She was unable to move, having noted during her waking moments, that she was tightly tied down, her hands tied behind her back, her feet apart, the rope firmly tying them around the chair’s legs.Another rope tied around her waist, keeping her upright in her seat. Her head ached, especially at the back, the memories crashing into her conscience, as she remembered bits and pieces, of how she had gotten into this dire situation. The first emotion being anger, as she lifted her head and gazed at the monster before her, the one who had put her in this predicament, the one who had falsely thr
Cade hightailed it too the designated location, mindless of the speed he was travelling. His brother’s tone and a sense of foreboding urging for him to get there as soon as possible. The address given by his brother was an old abandoned motel, just a few miles north of where Ava’s hometown was, it had taken him just under thirty minutes to get there, would have been more if he had been driving a car, but since he had his bike, he could easily zip in and out of traffic.Stopping beside his brother’s truck, Cade took off his helmet, taking in the surrounding area, it was a little bit off the beaten track, slightly tucked away, the tropical growth starting to take over, camouflaging the abandoned building, anyone passing on the main road, would not have known that this was here.“Matt…” He called out, wondering where they were as he made his way towards the building, surely they would have heard him, it’s not like h
In the early hours of the next morning, while Ava slept peacefully, Cade had gone over the previous day’s events. The barbeque had gone off without a hitch, it had been a success, despite the issue of the threat hovering in the background or Ava’s sister surly mood.Everyone had retreated to their homes, with promise of meeting up again often. The two dogs still had to be taken by his brothers, Cade didn’t want any distractions, especially since his ex was still out there, nobody had been able to find her, the tech guys were working their butt off trying to ping an exact location, tracking her phone, but each time they got close, it seemed to escape their grasp at the last second and go off the radar.Even his trackers had reached a dead end, the scent on the note had taken them round and round, like a merry-go-round, it was like someone had dropped the note from above. If he believed his ex could fly, he would have thought that s
“Finally…” Matt teased, entering Ava’s home a few hours later, “Was wondering when you guys were coming up for air.”“Hush…” Vanessa, his wife scolded, “You are no better, given the opportunity.”Matt grinned at his wife, “True…” Agreeing with her.The Hunter clan all filed in, adults and kids, filling Ava’s home with laughter and noise.Ava was introduced to Cade’s kids first, she was nervous, but they seemed to genuinely accept her place in their Dad’s life, both embracing her whole-heartedly.Then his parents were introduced, they had come down with Luke and his family.Ava had also invited her parents and her sister, her parents had gotten on well with everybody at the first introduction.Though her sister, Claire was a different issue, she stood apart, watching proceedings with a slight upward tilt to her nose.Ava and
After having taken care of her needs, Ava sat back contently in Cade’s embrace. He had explained everything on what had happened while she had been out, as well as explain to her the transformation that had happened once he had marked her.Of course, there would be more questions, but at that moment, she just wanted to savor the feel of having his arms around her, her body lax and content. They had moved outdoors, laying in the large hammock, under the shade of a large tree, each enjoying the peace and quiet.Even if it would only be temporarily, both knowing that a threat still lurked nearby.Cade held Ava in his embrace, her head on his chest, his hand stroking her back absentmindedly, ““You know, I would like for you to meet the rest of my family...especially my kids.” He began, might as well get this over with, his kids had been nagging to meet Ava from the get go…but he had been reluctant, wanting first to form a
