(Nikita's P.O.V.)
I went back to the venue and left Beta Poppy shortly after. I kind of regret raising my voice at her. I knew that she only wanted to comfort me and that she was just following orders. I shouldn't have let my temper get the best of me.
I'm just a little worried that Alpha Trojan will announce me as his mate later. How should I react to that?
I don't want to hear it, and I might lose my temper and attack him on the spot.
"Nikita..." Alpha Lucia called me in a small but stern voice. I forced myself to look at her in spite of the feeling of sulking I have towards her. "I want you to watch the ceremony carefully." She gave me a commanding look. I nodded my head in a yielding manner.
It looks like I'm going to be forced to watch the man I hate speaking in front of me.
I calmed myself and looked at the stage.
"Thank you for coming, everyone. I appreciate each and every one of you for being present at my son's oath-taking ceremony," Alpha Leon started his opening message. I looked at the stage boredly. "Introducing, the heir of the Blue Moon Pack!" he introduced cheerfully, followed by the loud applause of everyone inside the venue.
A tall guy came out backstage and walked in front. His big, handsome smile melted all the ladies in the venue. I'm not going to lie. He looks astonishing in his suit. It was fancier than the last one he was wearing earlier.
He gets the microphone from his father.
"Thank you, Dad."
Alpha Leon proudly tapped his son's shoulder before leaving the platform for him.
Trojan faced the crowd confidently.
"I, Trojan Wolfheart, solemnly swear to be a good leader of others by treating them with respect and dignity, no matter what rank they're born with. I will nurture my people's unique gifts and talents and give them opportunities to continue to grow and advance. I will protect them and not let power win over my clean intentions."
His oath echoed in the vastness of the venue. Everyone was just looking at him. All attention is on the man standing on stage with an aura of confidence. He wasn't afraid to look everyone in the eyes, including mine.
"WARRIORS!"
I landed my eyes on the werewolves lining up in front of Trojan.
"We, the warriors of the Blue Moon Pack, swear to serve the new Alpha with loyalty and honesty. Long live the Alpha!"
All of them said that in chorus, and everyone applauded.
The two corners of my lips slowly lifted as I watched Trojan's majestic appearance on stage. He's being bowed at by the werewolves, and he was just looking at them as the crowd clapped their hands in amazement.
So, this is what being powerful looks like.
"Isn't he attractive?"
I immediately closed my mouth when I heard my mother speak. I sheepishly looked at her. She must have seen me star-struck watching Trojan on stage.
I know she only wants me so badly to marry Trojan and be his Luna that's why she asked that. She doesn't really care whether I find him attractive or not. Besides, the answer is no. I don't find him attractive.
"I wasn't looking at him because I find him attractive. I was just feeling envious of the spotlight he's having," I replied firmly. I looked back at the stage. "I don't want to just stand here, nor stand next to Trojan. I want to own the stage and have my own spotlight. I want to be submissive to the crowd."
I don't know where I'm getting all the confidence to tell all of this to Alpha Lucia. She didn't say anything and just turned her attention back to the ceremony.
I was expecting her to stop me from being delusional again, as she calls it, but she just didn't respond. I thought that maybe she just got tired of telling me to know my place. I knew she wouldn't believe me. She never listened to me.
I crossed my arms and watched Trojan as he shook the hands of powerful Alphas in the werewolf world.
I'll be in his shoes soon.
Mark my words.
(Trojan's P.O.V.)
My eyes turned cold as I watched her look at me with adoring eyes. She's slowly blinking, obviously hypnotized by her own imagination. I looked away.
"Don't you see the admiration in her eyes? I think we just made her fall in love by standing here as the new powerful Alpha," Lupus thought.
I scoffed silently.
"What?" my wolf asked in a suspicious manner.
What she said in the forest echoed inside my head again. I closed my eyes, trying to control my anger.
"Nikita is not worshipping us. She's just worshipping her future self."
My grip on the microphone tightened.
"Huh? What do you mean?" Lupus asked confusedly.
"Forget it."
I automatically plastered a smile on my face when I saw my mother looking at me. She waved her hand, cheering me on stage.
But I didn't forget that I had another announcement to make today. I looked at the alphas of each pack, and I was sure they would be shocked when I told them about that plan of mine.
"Once again, thank you to all the alphas for coming. I have a training program that I would like to announce."
"I will be setting up a school in the Blue Moon pack that will provide not only fighting skills but also bookish knowledge, just like the human schools do. Everyone in every wolf pack can apply, and my intention is that everyone, including the other packs, will join forces to create strong werewolves to fight against the rogues."
I catch their attention; I see the joy in their eyes, because not all packs have good training instructors, and I want to create this opportunity for all wolves to make up for the deficiencies of other weaker packs. Although packs will always fight with each other over territory, the school is not only a place to train their skills but also a place for everyone to get to know each other better and break down barriers.
It is also a place where people can get to know each other better, break down barriers, and unite to fight against rogues.
While everyone looked at me with admiration, my eyes only wanted to catch that familiar figure.
My mate, Nikita, and I saw the same affirmation in her eyes.
I guess it's time to announce her as my mate then.
"Tell us about your mate, Alpha!" said the daughter of the alpha of the pack, jumping out of nowhere.
"Just do it!" Lupus urged me too. "You're going to tell everyone anyway, so just say it now. tell everyone that Nikita is our Luna."
With that in mind, I turned my attention to Nikita once again, but her eyes were completely devoid of the elation she had felt before. Her eyes were full of resistance. She even dodged my gaze.
I clenched my fist.
"Do it, Trojan! A woman often likes to express her shyness by denying it, and as long as we announce it in public, I'm sure it would be a very romantic act for any woman." Lupus said excitedly.
Would Nikita think so too? No! I won't declare her as my mate until her temper has become meek. My mate can be a stubborn woman, but not as the Luna of the Blue Moon pack.
I made up my mind. I'm going to say that...
"It's my sad announcement to tell every one of you that I haven't found my mate yet."
(Nikita's P.O.V.)I sat in the backseat of the limousine, watching the view from the window. In front of me is Alpha Lucia, who's angry right now. She hasn't looked at me since Alpha Trojan's announcement on stage about his mate relationship status. The other part of me wants to celebrate what he did because that's what I wanted. I didn't want him to announce our mate relationship straight away. I was treated with a lot of injustice as an omega, and everyone in the pack thought I didn't earn my respect through my strength.Rather, it was due to the fact that my mother was an alpha. If I am once again declared to be the destined mate of an alpha, imagine how I could abandon the chains that these identities have brought me.My intention is to be seen by all as bringing an aura of my own and not relying on my mate to win the crown.I'm pretty sure that's not what I want. That's why I looked at him straight in the eyes earlier, unintentionally begging him to just not say anything about it
(Nikita's P.O.V.)A week has passed since I joined the Blue Moon Pack's training program. When my mate Trojan announced the program, I honestly had expectations within me; it was truly a great program; no one in werewolf history had ever done this before. The breeding population of werewolves is decreasing year by year; this is because many of them have a mate who is not in their pack. Just like my mate would surprisingly be alpha of the Blue Moon pack, if I had not attended Trojan's ordination ceremony, I would never have found my mate.So Trojan's foresight is to be recognized and appreciated. But with the good side of everything, there is inevitably a bad side as well. Unequal treatment due to rank is encountered in any community, and here is no exception.I was an Omega, but I did not respond to the bullying with silence, which made mine stand out, and my locker was always full of surprises.I stood in front of my locker, took a deep breath, and when I pulled open the door after c
(Nikita's P.O.V.)As I was about to lunge toward her, the class bell rang."I won't let you off the hook next time." She dropped the words and ran out in a mess.I spent the entire morning class wandering, and thankfully I didn't miss much. I couldn't call it a class because the trainer didn't really do anything aside from giving us his motivational speeches that were out of touch with reality. It was lunchtime, and I went to the canteen. The cafeteria here is buffet style, and since I don't have friends for obvious reasons, I had to eat alone, which is not really a problem, by the way. I like my peace. The food here isn't really that bad, but if you don't like meatballs that look like dog food, then I wouldn't recommend you go to this school, especially if you're an Omega like me. They serve different foods depending on your rank.Of course, the Alphas get to eat premium dishes like steak. The same goes for Betas, who get to eat real meat while Omegas suffer from these meatballs that
(Nikita's P.O.V.)I didn't want my weakness to be seen by my mate.Yes, the man who came was my mate, Alpha Trojan, who was still wearing a premium cut suit, his toned pecs still grabbing me even though they were hidden under the black shirt. My body still hurt and I tried to stand up, but I had no strength at the moment."Trojan! Why are you here?" Clara immediately stuck to Trojan like a whore, Tala let out a disapproving roar, but Trojan didn't push her away as we were expecting, instead he pets her on her head.My heart felt the sting, how could he be close to another woman in front of his mate?"What's going on here?" Trojan didn't answer Clara's question, his eyes looked at me without any enthusiasm for the mate, he was calm, as if he didn't know me."It's nothing Trojan, it's chaos making Omega and we're teaching her the rules," Clara said ahead of me.I remained silent, even though I didn't want him to claim me as his mate, it didn't mean he could help others ignore me. I was
(Trojan's P.O.V.)I watched my partner leave sadly wounded and my heart ached, especially when I saw the wounds on her body, how dare Clara? But compared to that, the look in Nikita's eyes as she tried to deny me made my heart ache even more.I saw the look in her eyes that avoided me, the Luna that all she-wolves want to be as long as they haven't mated yet, why? She was so disgusted with me.But even then, I was still worried for her and I told everyone there could be no more violence or they would be punished no matter what the family behind her was."Clara, how dare she?" My wolf Lupus said angrily, his paws about to appear in my face, but I stopped him.I knew for sure that our partners would not intentionally create chaos. Clara grew up as an arrogant girl. She thinks she's a good actress and she wants to be my Luna, but before even when I didn't find my own Luna, I refused any overtures from her, but I wouldn't have embarrassed her. Her brother is still my beta...And my visit
(Nikita's P.O.V.)I know being an Alpha is busy, they never have enough to deal with, they need to be responsible for the development of their pack, they need to make sure everyone in their pack is fed and has better living conditions, and they need to make sure they are not lazy and actively training to make sure they don't get their guts emptied when they meet a rogue and stand over the rogue's corpse and give him the middle finger. So, I came to this school thinking I wouldn't meet Trojan until I was done with the "upgrade", but he came and denied me again. It was as if my bones had been broken twice, but I thought the day was bad enough when Principal George's fat body got in my way again.I chose to ignore him because I really didn't have any energy left to deal with anything else right now."Nikita, I got a report that you were in a mob fight in the cafeteria.""What do you mean?" I squeezed the words out of my teeth."I need you to come with me to my office for questioning." He
(Trojan's P.O.V.)"You shouldn't be satisfied with what you are right now, Trojan. To be an Alpha is a continuous room for improvement."When I walked into my father's office, my father started repeating his teachings again."Dad, I think you're too nervous, you need to go on a trip with my mother, all alpha's do that after their son takes over the position, don't they?" I frowned."I would, but do you think that our pack being so strong is brought on by my laxity?" Alpha Leon's brow furrowed."Son, I will not put our pack in danger, even if I am no longer an alpha. But I feel it is still my duty to protect the Blue Moon pack, and I'm sure your mother feels the same way."I had always resisted my father's assertiveness, and despite my mother's constant urging for him to have faith in me, he still joined the Council after he retired. He still wanted to spy on me.I looked at him with the omega's training itinerary in his hand, and I swallowed back my retort as I remembered Thomas' word
(Trojan's P.O.V.)"Come in."The door was pushed open and I saw that the person outside was Principal George. What was he doing here? And he looks so messed up, what does he think this place is? How could he come dressed so casually to meet his alpha! But my father beat me to it."What brings you here?" Alpha Leon asked.George didn't answer, because now I was the alpha of the pack, and he could only continue talking if I responded to him.He saw me and gave me a formal salute, and I signaled that he could continue."Alpha Trojan! I think there is something I must report to you about the Omega that offended you in the cafeteria today. Nikita!"My father gave me a frown after hearing me go to school, I knew he was upset with me for hiding it, but I didn't care, I was the new alpha and I had my way of managing. These archaic systems, like unequal teaching styles, should be abolished, but many of the members of the council are friends of my father. In order to change this, I would have t
