“Silver? How were you able to get protection against that?” Fighter asked, looking at the bracelet.

“We have witches as friends, Fighter. They helped us prepare these. These bracelets have always kept us safe—when we go into human territory, and even here in our own vicinity. Humans are starting to realize that werewolves truly exist, so they try to confirm it in different ways,” Noah explained as they kept walking.

“A plant? Can this plant be found around? Do we need another bracelet for it too?” Fighter asked.

“This plant is very rare around here. Before we settled down, we made sure to get rid of any plant that looked like wolfsbane. They can’t be found easily—I haven’t seen it in years,” Noah replied.

“But we should still be protected, right?” Fighter added.

  • The Alpha's Human Mate   Surprise party

Derek got to the back of the house and was shocked to see what the ladies had prepared for them. “What is going on?” Derek asked with a smile on his face. He looked at Ashley and saw her smiling widely too. “We decided to throw a small party for the four of us,” Ashley replied. Before Derek could respond, Fighter walked up to them, clearly amused. “Wow. What got into the both of you?” Fighter asked, and they all laughed. “Are those the right words?” Maggie questioned, and Fighter shrugged. “I have no idea. But all I know is, this is super cool. A surprise treat is one of the ways to a man’s heart,” Fighter added, and they all chuckled again.“Have you eaten?” Ashley asked Derek as she led him to the table they had prepared. Grilled meat and Chapman were already served. The sight of the entire meal made Derek’s stomach grumble—he couldn’t wait to dig in.He sat down and reached for one of the plates. “C’mon, Derek, we should wait for them too,” Ashley said, and they both looked a

  • The Alpha's Human Mate   Treatment

Derek nodded slowly and stepped aside for her to enter. She walked into the tent with her head slightly bowed.Derek shut the door and turned to face her.“Thank you for your concern,” Derek said gratefully. She responded with a smile. “Thank you.”“Thank you,” Fighter added, looking at her from where he sat on the bed.“How are you?” she asked.Fighter let out a sigh. “Not good at all… I need to sleep. My arm hurts so much,” he lamented. She smiled and placed the box she was holding on the table, then picked up an ointment from it.“This will help ease the burn a little,” she said, also picking up some cotton wool.Fighter nodded and watched her as she dipped the cotton wool into the ointment and passed it to him.“Apply it while I try to stop Derek’s bleeding,” she said.He nodded, accepting the cotton wool from her. “Why do I feel like this will sting when it touches the wound?” he asked as Derek moved closer.“It won’t sting. It actually has a soothing effect,” she assured him.Fi

An old woman stepped forward, and Derek looked a bit confused. He kept exchanging glances with Fighter, who also appeared equally confused.“You are to get in the pyramid and go on your knees,” the old woman said in a wimpish manner.“Both of us?” Derek asked, glancing at everyone whose eyes were on them. The old woman nodded and tried standing upright.Fighter looked at Derek again, and they gave each other silent consent with a nod. Derek took the first step and walked into the pyramid they had drawn on the ground.“Make sure you don’t break the cycle with your legs,” Noah warned, and Derek nodded. He finally reached the center of the shape and turned to look at Fighter, who followed and did exactly what Derek had done.“Both of you, on your knees,” the old woman requested, and they both knelt. At some point, Derek felt kneeling in front of everyone was a sign of slavery, but he dismissed the thought and allowed the people to proceed.Next to the old woman were a feather, some water

There was a knock on the door. Ashley heard it from inside her room. She rushed to get it because Thomas had gone out.She opened the door and was shocked to see who was standing there.“I’m Tony. I haven’t officially introduced myself,” he said and stretched his hand out to her.“Mr. Tony! I’m so happy to see you. Please, come in,” she said after shaking his hand. She stepped aside, and he walked into the house.“Please, sit,” she said, gesturing to the couch. He nodded, and she sat on the opposite couch.“I know I shouldn’t have come to your house like this, but I changed my mind. You need my help, and I’d love to help,” he revealed, and she nodded happily.“I’m so happy to see you—so happy you'd love to help me. Where do we start from?” she asked eagerly.“What have you been doing since you came to my house? Have you been researching werewolves? Their weaknesses?” he asked, and she nodded, standing up.“Yes!
