When Alpha Ronan raised the massive dagger engraved with ominous ancient runes into the pale light of the full moon, the entire forest fell into a breathtaking silence. The ancient symbols carved into the blade glowed in the darkness like the eyes of a starving beast. Great.

The silver needle wasn't enough, so now we're adding a sword.

I tried to steady my breathing, though my heart was still racing from everything that had happened. But the crushing Alpha aura rolling off Ronan in relentless waves made it painfully clear that this wasn't something to joke about.

Without taking his eyes off mine for even a second, Ronan turned the blade toward himself and pressed its razor-sharp edge against his left palm. One swift motion. A deep cut split across his hand. Dark crimson blood, thick with Alpha power, slowly trickled down the blade in heavy metallic drops.

Even the scent of it changed the atmosphere. Low, reverent growls rippled through the hundreds of wolves surrounding us. Holding up his bleeding hand, Ronan looked directly at me. I lifted my chin.

The wound the silver needle had carved into my own right palm had nearly finished healing, but I extended it toward him without the slightest hesitation. There was no turning back now. I'd come this far. I was going to seal this bond.

Ronan pressed the cold, bloodstained tip of the dagger directly against the fresh scar in my palm. The blade tore through my skin again. I clenched my teeth. I didn't blink.

Then he discarded the dagger onto the ground and firmly clasped his large, warm, bloodied hand around mine. The instant our hands locked together, our fresh blood flowed between our fingers, dripping directly onto the ancient runes carved into the heart of the ritual grounds.

The very first drop that touched the earth changed everything. Every rune beneath our feet erupted in brilliant crimson light. A violent shockwave slammed into my body. Electricity raced up my spine, forcing every muscle to tense. Then...

Something impossible happened. It felt as though the entire town... The endless forest... Every inch of pack territory... Its mountains... Its rivers... Its stones were suddenly being carved into my mind and my blood.

I felt the roots spreading beneath the earth. The footsteps of wolves standing guard along the borders. The invisible energy woven through the walls of the pack house. Everything. Absolutely everything.

For the first time, I truly felt the immense network binding this pack together. The invisible shield protecting the clan settled directly inside my chest. I still didn't have a wolf. The wild companion destined to share my soul still waited somewhere beyond my reach.

But the mysterious, untamed power flowing through my veins reacted to the pack's immense energy like a starving storm. Power flooded into my blood. And the more I absorbed... The brighter the runes blazed.

The moment Alpha Ronan felt the bond take hold, he slowly released my hand. My own blood still coated his fingertips. He lifted his thumb and gently pressed it against the center of my forehead. Using the mixture of our blood, he drew an ancient pack symbol onto my skin. Then his booming voice shook the valley itself.

"The blood is sealed!"

"The bond is complete!"

"Bloom now belongs to this pack!"

The instant his declaration echoed through the clearing, hundreds of wolves surrounding us lifted their heads toward the full moon and howled as one.

Inside my mind...

It felt like fireworks exploded through endless dark rooms. Every forgotten corner of my consciousness lit up. My eyes closed on their own. For one incredible moment... I could actually see the pack bonds. Hundreds... Thousands...

Of glowing threads stretched outward from me, connecting every wolf, every council member, every tree, and even the land itself. I stood at the center of an enormous web. Through those countless threads, I could feel the pack's pain. Its anger. Its loyalty. Its strength.

The endless loneliness that had haunted me my entire life was suddenly wrapped in something I'd never experienced before. Belonging. For the first time... I felt almost complete.

The emptiness inside my soul had finally begun to close. Almost. Only almost. Because something was still missing. My wolf. Even so...

This intoxicating flood of power alone was enough to keep me standing. When I slowly opened my eyes again, the hundreds of wolves still howling around me no longer sounded like the maddening screams that had nearly shattered my mind during the trials.

Those unbearable voices were gone. In their place was something entirely different. A fierce, comforting melody. One that wrapped around me like a promise.

The pack wasn't calling to me anymore. The pack was protecting me. I stood there, blood still dripping from my palm, the fresh symbol gleaming on my forehead, and the overwhelming power of my newly forged hybrid bond coursing through every vein.

My gaze drifted toward my team at the edge of the circle. Tears streamed freely down Ivy's face. Her hands were pressed tightly over her heart as she looked at me. I'd done it.

Kai had completely dropped his usual sarcastic mask. For the first time since I'd met him, I saw nothing but pure pride as he nodded in my direction. Finally...

My eyes found Cassian. He stood just beyond the edge of the ritual circle beneath the silver light of the full moon like a living statue. Perfect. Powerful. The dominant scent of blueberries and juniper still reached me despite the distance between us.

His blue eyes shimmered, reflecting the brilliant light that had just exploded inside my mind. He didn't even try to hide the admiration burning in his gaze. Or the fierce possessiveness that no force in the world could ever tear away. He knew.

I had been completely bound to his pack. And, more importantly... To his world. Then, among the thousands of glowing threads filling my mind, one of them suddenly tightened.

Unlike the others, this thread was thicker. Warmer. Golden. For the first time in my life, I heard someone's voice inside my head without a single sound reaching my ears.

It echoed from the deepest place within my soul.

"Welcome to Dark Moon, little fox."

A small, tired, but deeply proud smile touched my lips. Our first mind link. And with those few simple words came undeniable proof that I would never truly be alone again. The pack stood behind me. I would never face the darkness by myself again.

But before the warmth carried by that velvet voice could settle into peace... The golden thread snapped taut. A surge of pure hatred flooded through it like black poison. The massive pack network that had only just been sealed into my veins suddenly lashed against my mind.

The border runes. They were shattering. I felt them break before I heard them. An instant later, savage roars erupted from the depths of the dark forest, ripping through the victorious howls echoing beneath the full moon.

I'd thought they wouldn't dare attack before the bond was complete. Instead... They had waited for this exact moment. The instant the Blood Oath was sealed.

The moment the entire pack stood vulnerable, still caught within the ritual's lingering trance. Masked figures from the shadowy alliance that feared my awakening... Fanatical wolves obsessed with blood purity...

Burst from the treeline together, their claws aimed directly at the center of the ritual circle. At me.

The warm voice inside my mind vanished in an instant, replaced by Axel's deafening, savage roar. The living wall standing before me transformed within seconds into a deadly defensive line.

The enemy had arrived. And for Dark Moon... The fight for survival began with the very first blood I spilled as one of their own.

The thread inside my head had been hammering against my temples like a poisoned needle since last night. Bloom standing against the cold glass of her window, looking straight into my eyes as she accused me of being nothing more than an ordinary man ruled by primitive wolf instincts, had sent Axel into a violent rage behind my ribs.I hadn't been able to tell her the truth. I hadn't been able to explain that the damned arrangement with Fiona had only ever been a cover. All I'd told Bloom was that Fiona had been a shield. But today, everything was going to change. Alpha Ronan's dangerous plan to use Bloom as bait had Axel growling with dark satisfaction deep inside me. Fake or not, the little fox would finally be mine.Under the same roof. Far away from the pack. We all left the pack house together that morning and drove to school, but the atmosphere inside the car felt heavier than last night's battle.Bloom stared out the window, trying to understand the newly awakened pack bonds insi

The ancient cellar seemed to freeze the moment those words left Alpha Ronan's mouth. The blood of the First Line. For centuries, it had been nothing more than a legend. A faded story carved into the runes that lined forgotten walls. And now...It was lying right in front of me. On the parchment beneath my hands. In my veins. The shock on everyone's faces slowly transformed into something much darker. Calculation."Everything you've seen and heard in this room," Ronan thundered, his voice cracking through the underground chamber like a whip, "never leaves it."His gaze swept over each of us. "Not one word.""No one learns the truth about Bloom's blood."No one argued. No one even looked capable of speaking. Kai and Ivy were still staring at the parchment—at my family tree—as though their minds hadn't caught up with what they were seeing.Even after we returned upstairs to Alpha Ronan's large study, the suffocating silence followed us. I drifted toward one corner of the room. Kai leaned

The moment I opened my eyes, the cold gray haze of dawn spilling through my window slammed every blood-soaked memory from last night back into me. The lingering scent of blueberries and juniper clinging to my pillow stung my nose, dragging me straight back to the devastating closeness we'd shared... and the brutal way it had shattered afterward. But waking up today felt different. There was a strange crowd inside my head. A dull ache pulsed behind my temples. When I closed my eyes and took a slow breath, I felt it—completely, unmistakably. The massive pack bond that had been branded into my veins last night. I could sense the lower-ranking wolves in the manor courtyard cleaning up the aftermath of yesterday's attack. I could feel the exhausted pain radiating from the injured in the infirmary. Even the tense vigilance of the guards patrolling the grounds reached me through the countless shimmering threads woven through my mind.I could read them all. I wasn't blind anymore. The energy

The blue embers burning in Cassian's eyes glowed even brighter in the dim light of the room, and the distance between us disappeared within seconds. The more the wild warmth of his skin—still carrying the scent of fresh battle and blood—filled my lungs, the more every rational thought inside my head quietly committed suicide. His fingers were laced tightly with mine. I could feel the incredible strength unique to the wolf in his grip, and the frantic rhythm of the golden thread connecting our minds echoed straight through my soul.He lowered his head. His lips hovered so close to mine that every breath scorched my skin. Just as that overwhelming pull threatened to consume me completely, a familiar surge of stubborn pride flared in my chest, followed immediately by the tangled storm of thoughts crashing back into my mind.My heart pounded hard enough to break through my ribs. Slowly, I placed both hands against his warm, muscular chest and gently pushed him back before rising from the

The deafening roar rising from the dark forest shattered the ancient silence of the ritual grounds like glass. Inside my mind, the newly formed web of glowing bonds trembled in terror. The hundreds of threads that had only moments ago been sealed into my veins suddenly pulled tight beneath the heat of foreign hatred and approaching death. The sense of wholeness I had felt seconds earlier vanished, replaced instantly by a primal instinct to survive.“They breached the border!” Beta Zane roared, every trace of his usual professional composure gone. “Form the defensive line!”Masked figures burst from the shadows between the trees, followed by fanatical wolves whose eyes burned with pure hatred.
