Bayswater Beach
Romeo Price
A pang of disappointment flooded my chest when I woke up to an empty and cold bed.
My plan for some alone time with Annabelle last night failed miserably when she took to bed like a fish in water. Not that I blame her, we had quite the adventure yesterday, discovering an underground pathway that leads straight to Montgomery's residence.
And adding to that, she also had to apparate items from the underground library and heal Dimitri's, human mate. That must have taken a toll on her magic.
I arose from the bed, showered, and strolled off to the kitchen. The smell of bacon and eggs guided my nose like a beacon, assuming that Annabelle would be sitting at the breakfast nook with Dimitri and his human mate.
I wonder how Annabelle knew the girl's name. What did Annabelle call the girl again, was it, Gisela?
To my surprise, the kitchen was empty except
Hi! Just to clarify, in terms of timeline, this chapter occurs the morning after Annabelle's conversation with Dimitri (Chapter 40). Happy reading! xx F.A.R. aka fabulouslyawesomereads
The vampire prince and his mate left at noon, just as he said he would. He didn't divulge their destination and I didn't ask. Somehow, I have a gut feeling that I'm going to see him again, soon. Although the vampire was gone, his words played in my head like a broken record. "We all have secrets, my friend. Perhaps you should worry about your mate's rather than mine." I've known all along that Annabelle has secrets. For now, I trust her. Or at the very least, I am giving her the benefit of doubt. Because if my mate wants to share something with me, she will. Besides, she did say we'll talk once she's finished moving the items in the underground library to another safe house. The whole day, I gave a wide berth to Annabelle, letting her do her magic in the library, and waited patiently for her to finish. It felt awkward to have nothing pressing to do, no paperwork to sign, no issues to solve. Don't get me wrong, my w
Bayswater pack lands Annabelle Aoki I woke up in a strange room, lying on a foreign bed and my body wrapped by unfamiliar soft, silken sheets. What on earth happened last night? The last thing I remembered was an angry Romeo bursting out of the beach house in his wolf form. After our heated exchange, I trudged to my bedroom to clean up and waited for him to return. I guess I must've dozed off before he returned, if he ever came back that is. I blinked the remnants of sleep from my brain and rubbed my eyes. Pushing myself into a seating position, my head bobbed, my eyes taking stock of my surroundings. Dark silken sheets pooled around me and I was lying in a large king-sized bed in the middle of the room. To my right, a messy desk rested by the wall, and a leather settee sat in the corner of the room. I've been in this room before. I saw a figure lounging on the sofa across the
Annabelle Aoki I stayed in Romeo's bedroom for as long as I could. An hour later, I couldn't ignore the pang of hunger rumbling from my stomach. Apparently, mister I will keep you captive has forgotten all about me or maybe decided that I'm not worth feeding. So I determined to take matters into my own hands, by heading to the kitchen. A girl's got to do what a girl's got to do. I still remembered the layout of the packhouse, my feet nimble as I bounded down the stairs and turned right to where the private kitchen is located. Similar to my previous visit, this side of the packhouse was empty, giving me respite from having to mingle and make small talk with others. After my earlier episode with Romeo, I'm not feeling particularly hospitable. In fact, I'm feeling discomfited and irate. With the current mood that I'm in, I'm pretty sure I would bite the head off anyone who dares cross my pat
I marched out of the kitchen for my office, trying my best to quash my true desire, which is to storm into my bedroom and claim Annabelle as mine. The memories of our kiss this morning had branded my lips and lingered at the forefront of my brain. Instead of going to Annabelle, I sought solace in my mountain of work. Right. How could work compare to my mate? My heart beat faster as the clock ticked on, my body thrumming with anticipation as I waited for my mate to apparate to her safe house and pick up the item Trav requested. My wolf was anxiously pacing in my head, becoming more irascible as his impatience grew, wanting desperately to know the identity of Annabelle's secret lover. However, the black onyx stone on my neck stayed cool and muted, indicating that the rune enchanted with the locating spell has not yet been used, yet. Frustration clawed through my veins at the thought of Annabelle protecting the unknown male's
Annabelle Aoki Trav had requested an item that could alert them of dark magic and magical traps, to assist them in their grand plan to take Nari down. Lucky for them,my late grandmother had a great selection of relics in her collection. I selected a rune that's easiest for them to use, no incantations needed. It's a small, pocket-sized rune, imbued with a revealing spell. To use it, Trav would just need to wave the rune in front of him, and should there be dark magic or magical traps nearby, it would be revealed for a limited time. I hope whatever it is that they're planning would be effective in stopping Nari. Physically, Romeo may be stronger than Nari but physical strength is not always necessary when you're using magic. Should things go south, I might have to step in and rescue Romeo and his friends. And if that happens, my true identity as the ruby stone guardian will, unfortunately, be revealed to Nari. As much as I
"Annabelle! Oh my God, are you here for real?" I found myself wrapped in strong arms and enveloped by a familiar scent of cypress and mint, Stephen Wolfe. With everything that's been going on in the past few days, I realized guiltily that I have forgotten to check up on Stephen after escaping from Nari's creepy hidden chamber. Unable to help myself, I giggled like a teenage girl as relief washed over me, thankful to find he is in one piece, safe and alive. "Hey, I'm real," I replied softly. I gave him a wide grin after he had released me from his embrace and patted the empty seat beside me to which he eagerly took. "What happened to you the other day? I thought we were supposed to meet for coffee." I badgered, remembering it was Nari who showed up, pretending to be him. There was a nagging feeling festering at the back of my head, wondering how did Stephen and Nari know each other. My mind replayed the conversatio
Romeo Price I watched Annabelle curiously as she fiddled with her fingers, her gaze forlorn and dejected. What's wrong with her now? I sent a mind-link to Trav and saw him whisper my message to her. A second later, she looks up and I gave her an encouraging smile, conveying the impression that I'm not angry at her earlier interlude with Stephen, and she smiled in response, her shoulders relaxing. She does not know it yet but my smile is a lie. Unlike her, I know how to act. Last night, I discoveredan unknown male scent on her, and today I see her hugging Stephen as if she belonged there. Internally, I am livid but now is not the time or place to address how I feel. I have a dinner to host and two days of Alpha meetings to go through. I will handle her iniquity in due time. One thing I did find out, the unknown male scent is not Stephen's. Stephen is not aware that ju
Nari's eyes widened in surprise when she saw me seated at the high table. She swiftly recovered and recomposed her expression. She must have thought that I would still be cursed and in my wolf form, weak because my human form was dying. Well, she thought wrong. "Did you miss me, Romeo?" Nari's soft, musical voice reverberated loudly against the now silent hall. A winsome smile decorated her face which previously would have tugged at my heartstrings. Now, it made me want to gag. The innocent smile and charm were at odds with the dark veins protruding against her sallow skin.I wondered if the curse that she cast upon me had caused those blackened veins because she looks as if she's been hexed. If she is then let me just say, karma's a bitch. My eyes traversed the hall once again and I found the chairs where the Moonstone pack was supposed to be seated noticeably vacant
