Alpha Glary's POV

No sooner has Mercedes arrived home than my phone buzzes.

A text from Clarita, who asks about her money. ‘Alpha, mission completed. Please pay up'. With a sigh, I go to the mobile bank app and transfer the agreed amount to her account right away. This devil has earned two hundred thousand American dollars in two days.

Clarita is the most worthless girlfriend Mercedes can ever have. She is terribly jealous of Mercedes, might actually kill her friend for her happiness. And yet this good woman stuck out her neck to save a friend like this. I could see from everything that Mercedes didn't want to date me, she would never have gone with me voluntarily. That’s why I stoop so low to hire Clarita for my plan.

Clarita and I put together this whole drama. The goal was to get Mercedes closer to me, take her on a date as soon as the Alpha was out of the picture. Then I would court her so that she would consider me a serious candidate now or next year on her eighteen birthday.
