ROSEANNE
The next day, I had to attend a werewolf gathering at Grandpa Andreas’ command. Usually, an Omega like me wouldn’t need to come since most attendees were Alphas. I had only attended once, years ago. I immediately received too much-unwanted attention from other Alphas, so Grandpa never brought me along again.
But he ordered me to come today, and I had a bad feeling about it for some reason.
That night, a knee-length black dress wrapped my body beautifully, my hair was styled elegantly, and my light makeup made me look stunning yet still appropriately modest. Even though I felt incredibly uncomfortable, I had to uphold the image of the Moonveil family.
As I stepped into the grand hall, my eyes searched for Grandpa, but instead, I found countless Alpha gazes fixated on me. The sweet scent of my pheromones must have filled the room, instantly drawing attention.
‘Damn it, Grandpa should’ve come with me instead of sending me alone. Now I must deal with all these lecherous Alphas staring at me.’ I let out a quiet huff, fully aware of the hungry and intrigued looks directed my way.
Some Alphas had come with their mates—if they were married, they would bring their Luna to such gatherings. However, many Alphas were still unmated, which meant I was now their prime target.
I knew I was beautiful, and the fact that I was an Omega only made me more desirable to them. If I didn’t find Grandpa Andreas soon, I had to prepare myself to be approached by one of them.
“Anne!”
I turned quickly at the familiar voice calling my name. My lips curled into a smile as I saw Daniel Eagerlow approaching with an excited expression.
“Hey, Daniel,” I greeted warmly.
Daniel Eagerlow was one of the Alphas I was familiar with. I often ran into him since we were in the same business field. We could be considered friends, though not particularly close. He was pleasant to talk to, but I never forgot that he was still an Alpha—which meant I had to remain cautious.
“I didn’t expect to see you at this gathering.” Daniel’s gaze swept over my appearance from head to toe before he smiled. “You look stunning, Anne.”
“Thanks, Daniel,” I replied, feeling the intensity of his stare.
“How have you been, Anne? I heard you just woke up from a coma recently.”
I winced slightly, not realizing word had spread so fast. “Yeah, that’s true. But I’m fine now, still recovering.” I tried to steer the conversation away from that topic.
All the while, I continued scanning the room, searching for Grandpa Andreas, but he was nowhere in sight. I needed to find him quickly for protection. Being an Omega in the middle of all these Alphas made me uneasy.
I could handle it if it were just one or two of them. But there were too many eyes on me now, and I was sure some of them were already thinking of ways to approach me.
“Anne, are you looking for someone?” Daniel’s voice snapped me back to reality. I had almost forgotten I was still talking to him.
“I’m looking for my grandfather. He arrived before me, but I couldn’t find him anywhere. Do you know where he is, Daniel?”
“You’re looking for Andreas?” Daniel asked, a flicker of confusion in his expression. But it only lasted for a moment before he smiled widely. “I can help you find him.”
“You’ve seen my grandfather?” I asked again, needing confirmation.
Daniel nodded confidently. “I’ll take you to him.”
Daniel’s hand snuck behind my back as we were about to walk together, intending to wrap around my waist. I instinctively stepped away, unwilling to be touched by an Alpha who had no claim over me, even if I knew him.
But when Daniel tried again, another hand suddenly gripped his wrist, twisting it forcefully. A familiar voice followed.
“Watch your hands, Eagerlow. Don’t touch Roseanne.”
I froze.
That voice.
Damian Fenrison.
Daniel let out a pained grunt, quickly yanking his arm free from Damian’s grasp before stepping back in anger. “Stay out of this, Fenrison,” Daniel spat.
“What are you doing here?” I was shocked to see Damian suddenly appear. Truthfully, I had no desire to see this man, yet here he was.
Damian barely spared me a glance before responding, “That’s a stupid question, Roseanne. I’m an Alpha, of course, I’m here. I wouldn’t miss an important gathering like this.”
Daniel’s outburst had drawn the attention of the entire room. And now, seeing Damian involved, everyone was even more intrigued. Damian was not one to meddle in other people’s business, yet here he was, interfering in my interaction with Daniel.
But all this attention made me feel suffocated. I feared people would start suspecting things, leading to a situation I wanted to avoid.
I clenched my jaw. “Then stay away from me,” I said firmly. “I don’t want to be near you. I’ll find my grandfather.”
Daniel immediately said, “Anne, I’ll take you to Andreas. Come with me.” He extended his hand, waiting for me to take it.
Before I could decide, Damian spoke again.
“Eagerlow,” his voice was ice-cold. “Was my warning not enough, or are you just deaf?” His sharp glare was filled with menace, and the Alpha aura radiating from him made the entire hall feel oppressive.
I sighed in frustration, growing more uncomfortable with the scene. It would be better if I just left so things wouldn’t escalate. “I’ll go by myself,” I finally decided.
“Oh, you’re not going anywhere without me, Roseanne.”
Without hesitation, Damian wrapped his arm around my waist, pulling me close to his side, ensuring I wouldn’t escape him.
I gasped, completely shocked by his action. “Damian! Let me go!” I struggled against his hold, but his grip was too firm.
Whispers filled the room as more Alphas reacted to the scene unfolding before them. Their faces were filled with disbelief. Damian Fenrison—the Alpha who had never touched another woman after Lyra’s death—was now holding me in his arms in front of everyone.
But the real shock was the fact that I was the granddaughter of Andreas Moonveil—Damian’s greatest rival and sworn enemy.
“Damian!” I hissed angrily, but he didn’t budge.
“You won’t find Andreas because he didn’t attend this gathering, Roseanne.”
I stilled at his words.
“And one more thing,” he continued, his fingers pressing slightly against my waist to keep me from escaping. “Andreas sent you here to be my partner for this event because we’re getting married soon.”
My entire body tensed at his declaration.
“You’re not leaving alone, nor will you leave with another Alpha,” he said again, his voice low and commanding. “Because you are mine, my future Luna. Do you understand?”
The entire hall erupted into chaos as everyone reacted to his statement.
I glared at Damian with nothing but hatred in my eyes. My voice dropped to a whisper.
“You’re insane if you think I’ll accept this. I’ve already told you, I will never agree to marry you.”
Damian smirked, his dark gaze locked onto mine. “Unfortunately, this isn’t about what you agree to, Roseanne. Like it or not, the fact remains, you will still be mine.”
I wanted to slap him across the face right then and there. But I knew we were in public and couldn’t afford to act impulsively.
‘Damian Fenrison, you win this round. I have no way to argue against you.’
And one thing became painfully clear that night. I wouldn’t leave this gathering unless Damian allowed it.
ROSEANNEI stayed silent for a few moments after Grandpa Andreas left me alone in that room, my head overwhelmed with questions I couldn’t understand—without explanation, without answers.I was also furious over the unfair and absurd dismissal. Although it was clear Lavinia had submitted manipulated, fake evidence, they foolishly chose to believe her.My fists clenched tightly as I looked around my office. The office that had been mine for years, the position I had always protected, the symbol of all my hard work."Now, none of it belongs to me anymore," I muttered in the room's silence, feeling emotional but refusing to let those fools outside see any of my weakness. My conversation with Grandpa Andreas only confirmed that I no longer had a place in Moonveil Group—unless I went back to blindly obeying him like before. But I was no longer Grandpa Andreas’s puppet. From now on, I would walk my own path. I wouldn’t listen to anyone else.“There’s no use staying here.” I exhaled heavily
ROSEANNEI have been trying to be a good Luna for the past week. I haven’t argued with Damian, followed all his rules, restrained myself from looking into Lyra lately so he wouldn’t get suspicious, and even tried not to think too much about my work at Moonveil. I’ve been trying hard to regain Damian’s trust so he would stop watching over me so closely.I know all of this is just his way of protecting me, but over time, I’ve started to feel suffocated. I’m not the kind who can just stay at home doing nothing.Especially not for this long.‘I’m just too active, so it’s no surprise that I got bored in just a week,’ I muttered, fully aware of my nature. For the past two days, my boredom has been getting worse. I have read every interesting book in the library, visited the backyard garden multiple times, and even tried cooking in the kitchen. But none of it has been enough to curb my desire to leave this house and do something that would make me feel even a little bit free.‘At the very le
LAVINIAI woke up with a pounding headache, my head feeling heavy from the lingering alcohol in my system. The sunlight streaming through the hotel curtains made me squint, forcing me to adjust to the overly bright morning. I groaned softly, stretching on the bed that suddenly felt too wide and empty. My hand reached out to the side of the bed, searching for the warmth that should still be there from the man who had accompanied me last night. But all I found were cold, rumpled sheets. I frowned, trying to recall his face. Still, all that came to mind were fragmented memories—his touch, his heated kisses, the way he murmured my name in my ear with a husky, seductive voice.I sighed, burying my face into the pillow, still holding a faint trace of his masculine cologne. It felt strange; usually, I didn't care about who I slept with. One-night stands were nothing new to me. I just needed release, a fleeting sensation to distract me from the chaos in my life. But something about this time
LAVINIAThat night, the luxurious restaurant in the city centre was filled with laughter and the clinking of glasses. I sat in the middle, surrounded by several company executives who were now on my side. They were the ones who would ensure Roseanne was removed from Moonveil. I raised my glass, smiling in triumph."To a brighter future," I said with confidence."To our new CEO, Lavinia!" one of them cheered, followed by a chorus of applause and table tapping.I smiled in satisfaction. Tonight was a small celebration before my big victory. I had ensured that everything was going according to plan. Roseanne wouldn’t have any room to defend herself. The fabricated evidence was flawless, and these executives were firmly in my grasp with sweet promises."We all know how Roseanne runs things," I continued, leaning back casually in my chair. "She’s too rigid, too by-the-book. She’s turned this company into a cage filled with rules. You must be tired of working under such a strict system, rig
LAVINIAI sat in my mother’s study, a glass of wine in hand, staring at the scattered documents on the desk. My mother paced the room with a satisfied smile on her face. "Everything is set," she said, picking up a document from the table and showing it to me. "The shareholders we bribed are ready to testify. In less than a week, Roseanne will lose her position."A pleased smile formed on my lips. Finally, after years of living in her shadow, I could get rid of Roseanne for good. "What about the evidence? We need to make everything look real," I said, slowly sipping my wine.Mother nodded. "Don’t worry, I’ve already hired someone to forge the financial documents. Roseanne will look like she’s been embezzling company funds for months. Even Kiren won’t be able to help her this time."I let out a small laugh. "Good. This scandal will ruin her. No one will believe her anymore. Even Grandfather Andreas won’t be able to save her."I rose and walked toward the large window overlooking the bac
ROSEANNEIn the following days, I felt like Damian's shadow—or, more accurately, like someone under strict surveillance. I could feel it clearly; I was being watched constantly, not just every day, but every moment.I realized it all started that day, ever since I left without telling Damian, and as a result, he had become much more protective of me.It was suffocating because I couldn't move as freely as before. I felt too restricted, afraid that Damian would notice something suspicious about me. I couldn't even read the files about Lyra in secret anymore because Damian was always wherever I was.I knew he had always been attentive and never really left me alone, but now… everything felt much more extreme. If Damian had to attend a meeting with Tobias and Kiren, I used to be allowed to stay home and do whatever I wanted. He wouldn’t interfere with my activities because he knew I would call him if needed. But now, things were different. Whenever Damian met with those two Betas, I had
