I couldn't believe Kristof was allowing me to bring Zara home to the packhouse. She would be my mate, but I wasn't going to mention how important Zara was to me. Yet. That would come later.

I wanted to wait until Kristof and Aláine sorted out their mating, given how reluctant she was at this stage. Zara had assured me that she liked Kristof. Still, she wasn't the type to rush into relationships because she'd been pressured and hurt before. I didn't know much of what had gone on, but I figured that Zara would help if needed.
