Chapter 27

ALPHA KYLIAN'S POV

I looked at the still bodies of the men on the floor. It didn't take me up to five minutes to beat all of them. The men laid defeated beneath my feet with their weapons scattered all over the ground. My chest heaved up and down. My breathing was heavy.

I noticed the girl hid behind a tree. She peeked at me with fear in her eyes. I walked closer to her. The closer I walked, the more she moved back.

"Are you okay?" I asked her. I tried to sound as gentle as I could.

I crouched down beside her. I reached out to check if she was injured. She cowered away in fear. I felt a bit shocked at her expression.

Why was she scared of me? I just saved her.

I guess she was still traumatized because of what happened. I reached out to touch her again but she moved away from me. Tears fell from her eyes.

"Please, don't hurt me" she whimpered.

"I'm not going to hurt you. Why would I? I just want to check if you're okay. Are you injured?"
