CHAP 15

Red is supposedly considered a lucky color, but to me, it suddenly seems unfortunate. If ever one's luck runs out, mine certainly seems to have done so now. I swallowed hard and tried to smile at her.

"H-Hello." I let out a raw laugh with a simple wave of my hand. "I study here," I explained, even though she didn't ask me.

There was no trace of joy on her face, even though I tried to lighten the atmosphere. I noticed some of those watching us had joy on their faces because the woman was confronting me, while there were also others who were silent and afraid to interfere. I want to laugh because this time I can tell who is awoo awoo among them and who isn't.

"Stand up," she commanded.

I took a slow breath as I was hesitant to comply. In the end, there was nothing I could do but follow. First, because she has a position. Second, because she has fangs. Whichever of the two she uses on me, I can't win either.
