I fake a struggle to get him off, allowing him to think he has me. When he loosens his grip, I reach up and grab his jaw with my opposite hand and squeeze until his jaw bones groan and creak, his teeth puncturing my fingers as I glare into his wolf’s eyes. *Lana POV*My father stares at me like I am crazy, his eyes wide as he sits back in his chair, studying me, waiting for me to speak again. I’ve said my piece, and I meant every word. He may not know how to take it, but even if he says no, I still plan to do things my way. *Maddox POV*I wake with a start. My chest aching from my pounding heart as I sit up straight, looking around my massive empty room. *Lana POV* Kohen throws his fist into the wall, the drywall crumbling as I roll my eyes. He has been far more angry lately. I stare at the blank email screen, torturing myself more and more, waiting, hoping that maybe Maddox will try to communicate with me. I have no idea what I would say to him now that I know what he is exiled for. As much as I want to believe Michael, trust that he knows his son and that I know Maddox as well as I thought I did, I struggle with it. They had proof, verifiable evidence that he did what he did, otherwise they would not have been able to convict him. “Kohen!” I call out, looking for him as I walk through the sunroom, trying to locate him. I fell asleep on the couch last night, waiting for him to come back with ice cream.
