Alaric’s POV:

The hallway falls silent around me, a cold emptiness pressing in from all sides. Even with the phantom of Nyxia gone, I can feel her, hear her voice echoing in my mind. I grip the key tighter, letting the coolness of the metal ground me. This isn’t the time to lose myself in emotions or memories. There’s one last chance to set things right, and it’s waiting just beyond that door.

Steeling myself, I make my way to the far end of the corridor, where the shadows stretch darker than the rest. My body protests with every step, pain twisting through my abdomen as if reminding me of the limited time I have. What good is power, I think bitterly, if it’s spent out here, dying alone with unanswered questions?

I stop before the heavy door that was locked with a finger pad lock, the one that once belonged to my father. The pain in my chest dulls momentarily, replaced by a cold, calculating focus. My father, the man who brought ruin upon everyone he touched, and I, his son, left to c

  • The Alpha's Obsession   Chapter 176: Lucian Evangeline

Nyxia’s POV— Eight months later —The world outside was quiet. Snow drifted down in lazy spirals, covering the estate grounds in a blanket of white. Inside, the warmth of the dimly lit room pressed against my skin. But nothing else mattered.Because in my arms lay the most precious thing in the world. My son.My throat tightened, my breath hitching as I traced the soft curve of his cheek with my fingertip.A part of me still couldn’t believe he was real. That after everything, after all the pain, all the losses, all the nights I spent gripping my stomach in fear, he had made it.He was here. And he was perfect.I lifted my gaze to Dominico, who sat beside me on the hospital bed, watching me with that rare, gentle smile he only ever showed in moments like these. The kind of smile that made my chest ache because it held too much emotion, too much love.My lips trembled, and before I could stop myself, I whispered, “He looks just like you.”Dominico chuckled, the deep rumble of his voic

Nyxia’s POV:The next instant, the darkness receded like it had never been there, and I was thrown back into the light. My body jerked as I gasped, my fingers clutching onto Dominico's arms like a lifeline. He held me tight, his own breath ragged as our gazes locked.“What the fuck?” Nikolai's voice rang through the air, sharp with disbelief.I turned my head just in time to see it—Elijah’s body disintegrating before our very eyes, crumbling into ash the same way Coco’s had.Alex stumbled forward, his expression frozen in shock. “What just happened?” His eyes darted around, landing on every single one of us, searching for an answer none of us had.No one else had seen what we had seen. The weight of the realization crushed me, but I didn’t have the time to dwell on it.My head pounded, my vision blurred at the edges. The adrenaline that had kept me upright was rapidly wearing off, leaving behind a wreckage of exhaustion and pain.I could barely stand. The only thing keeping me from co

  • The Alpha's Obsession   Chapter 174: Breathe Life

Nyxia’s POVThe room felt suffocating, as if the very air had been drained from it. My heartbeat pounded in my ears, an uneven, frantic rhythm.Across from me stood the Noir Witch, cloaked in absolute darkness. She wasn’t just a presence—she was an absence.A void.I swallowed hard, my fingers digging into Dominico’s sleeve, seeking an anchor in the storm of my thoughts.“What are you doing here?” I asked, my voice barely more than a whisper. But Dominico was already staring at me, his sharp gaze flickering with something questions.“You know her?” He asked.I hesitated. The words I was about to speak felt like glass lodged in my throat, but I forced them out.“Have you heard of the Noir Witch?”His entire body stiffened. And then—His expression darkened into something I had rarely seen before. A glare of pure, seething rage.“The one who turned you into a beta?”My breath hitched. He knew?Since when?I hesitated, my throat tightening before I gave him a small nod.The Noir Witch’s

Nyxia’s POV:“Let me go!” I yanked my arm, desperate to break free, but the grip on my wrist tightened like iron shackles.A violent shiver tore down my spine.Coco’s hold was unrelenting, his fingers pressing into my skin with bruising force as he turned toward the bloodstained room. His breath hitched at the sight of Ethan’s slumped form, a choked gasp escaping his lips.“Sire!” he exclaimed, his voice tinged with panic.I expected him to release me, to rush to his Master’s side—But he didn’t.Instead—He dragged me back with him.“No—No! No, no, no, NO! LET ME GO!” I screamed, my voice raw and broken as I thrashed against his grip. My nails dug into his wrist, my legs kicking wildly, but it was useless.I wasn’t strong enough.I was never strong enough.Coco yanked me closer, his breath ragged, his voice laced with pure venom.“You ungrateful wretch,” he spat, his fingers tightening around my arm as his other hand reached for Ethan’s pale face. “After all he’s done for you, this i

Nyxia’s POV:Ethan’s eyes darkened, the crimson glow in his irises flickering like embers ready to consume him whole. His gaze dropped to the beige mesh nightgown in my hand, his expression unreadable. My fingers trembled as I crumpled the fabric into a ball and tossed it back into the open cupboard, my breathing uneven.Something was wrong. The way he was standing, the way his shoulders trembled ever so slightly, like a predator losing control of its own body. His usual smirk was gone—replaced by something dangerous.Something desperate.“W—what happened?” I asked, my voice barely above a whisper. Not because I was worried about him.Because I was worried about myself.Ethan didn’t answer immediately. Instead, his body gave a sudden jolt, and he coughed—a deep, guttural sound that sent a splatter of blood onto his palm.My eyes widened. For a moment, he simply stared at the crimson pooling in his hand, his breathing ragged, before slowly lifting his head to look at me.I froze. The w

  • The Alpha's Obsession   Chapter 171: Cling to his memory

Nyxia’s POV:I woke up with an unsettling feeling twisting in my stomach, my body instantly tensing as my senses registered the unusual silence around me.Something was wrong. For the past couple days, every time I had woken up, there had always been a tray of food waiting for me. That was the only indication I had that time was passing, the only consistency in this nightmare. But now… there was nothing.I frowned, slowly sitting up on the plush mattress, my wrists aching from the metal cuffs that had been pressing into my skin for too long. The room was eerily still, the only sound being the faint rustling of the wind outside.Had Ethan forgotten to bring my food? No. He wouldn’t. He was too meticulous about maintaining control over me.I turned my gaze toward the window. The sun was already high in the sky, casting bright rays over the snow-capped mountains in the distance. Noon. Which meant I had already missed breakfast… and possibly even lunch.A wave of hunger gnawed at my stoma
