The next day, in the morning, the second son of the Lanton Family, Samuel Lanton, strode into the front gate of the 34-story company building.

About an hour ago, Mrs. Mead, the housekeeper of his big brother, Vincent, called him and said Vincent had a huge fight with his mate, Talia, who used to date Vincent under a different name, again.

Samuel skipped his history class in college and came to visit Vincent.

He said “Hello” to the girl at the front desk with a charming smile as usual, then got into the elevator.

After the elevator stopped on the 30th floor, he got out and winked at Vincent’s secretary, Sophia, with a shining grin.

Sophia smiled back at him in shyness like most girls did. Samuel went straight to his big brother’s office.

He knocked on the closed door first and said, “It’s me, Sam. Can I come in?”

No replies came from inside. Samuel waited for a few seconds, then straightly pushed the door open.

Inside, the first son of the Lanton Family, and the legit inheritor of the Lanton Group, Vincent Lanton, was sitting behind his office desk with his back to the window.

His handsome face was as pale as a sheet and the corner of his left eye was twitching out of pain and anger, plus the surging fury in his dark eyes, he now looked like a brutal murderer who was about to eat people.

Samuel sighed, in his head. Before Vincent got injured in that battle with rogues and went into a coma, he was a very nice person, always had smiles on his face.

But it changed after Vincent woke up about one year ago. He lost his wolf for unknown reasons, along with part of his memories.

He didn’t remember their father had died, or he had already found his mate, Talia, or he had already had a son with her.

At first, Vincent was very confused about everything. He asked to meet their father, and refused to admit Talia as his mate. But as time went by, Vincent eventually accepted all those changed realities. Only his temper grew crankier along with that.

It was disheartening, but Samuel wouldn’t blame his big brother for that.

If it were him who woke up from a long sleep and was suddenly informed that he had already lost his father, and had already had a strange wife and a 4-year-old son, he would have become a cranky nut too.

Especially when Vincent’s mate, Talia, was a total bitch who irritated everyone around her.

Samuel could never understand how Vincent accepted Talia in the first place and slept with her.

Talia was so not Vincent’s type. It just didn’t seem right.

He sighed again, in his head, noticing Vincent’s left hand on the desk was still bleeding under a blood-soaked towel as Mrs. Mead had guessed.

He quickly went to the cabinet beside the wall and took out a first-aid kit.

It was happening more and more frequently recently. Vincent hurt himself by smashing all the glass and mirrors in his bedroom with his fist whenever he had a fight with Talia. And he refused to see a doctor after that.

“You know you aren’t married, right?”

After pulling a chair to sit beside Vincent, Samuel said, and put the first-aid kit on the desk.

“I mean, even if you were married, you could always get divorced. The Moon Goddess granted us the right of rejection. I don’t see any harm in using it,” Samuel tried to put it with a casual tone while undressing the soaked towel on his big brother’s fist.

Without a wolf, Vincent was unable to heal himself. The wounds on his hand were too horrible to even look at.

Samuel frowned unpleasantly when he tried to pick out those broken glasses from Vincent’s knuckles with a tweezer.

He wasn’t a doctor, just picked up some medical knowledge on college optional courses. But he knew if Vincent kept hurting himself like this, sooner or later, he would lose his hand, even his arm.

Samuel was a nice person like Vincent used to be. He rarely got angry at others, but he seriously hated Talia. That woman was a total disaster. Everything in the family changed after she showed up. There were always endless fights and complaints. Servants quit frequently, and she didn’t even take care of her own child.

Charlie was already 5 years old, but he hadn’t said one word yet. The pack’s doctor had the boy checked. The result was fine. He wasn’t sick or disabled. He just refused to speak for some unknown reason. And Talia didn’t even care about it. She wouldn’t even hold the boy.

Samuel could never understand why his big brother hadn’t chased Talia away. She was irritating him too. Every time Samuel saw Vincent, Vincent got worse than last time, both physically and mentally.

Vincent didn’t answer Samuel’s question. He just looked at his bleeding, broken hand with a darkened, twitching face.

He knew he shouldn’t be acting like this. He wasn’t a violent person who would lose his temper easily, but he just couldn’t help himself.

From the moment he woke up, every time he saw Talia, he wanted to punch her stupid, hypocritical face. He had lost his wolf, but there was another force inside him, urging him to strangle Talia, as if he was cursed to kill her.

But of course, he wouldn’t do that. No matter whether there was a curse or not, he would never hurt his mate. Talia might have been acting like a bitch now, but Vincent knew they once loved each other. That was the only explanation why he had a kid with her. He just wasn’t the type of person who slept around for fun.

He was convinced if he somehow got his memories back, he and Talia would be happy again. And to be honest, it was kind of his fault why Talia had been so bitchy recently.

He couldn’t get hard anymore.

Ever since he woke up, he hadn’t even gotten an erection. No matter how hard Talia tried, he just couldn’t stand up. It wouldn’t even work when he masturbated himself. Talia somehow wanted another kid with him desperately. It completely drove Talia crazy. That was why they had been fighting so much recently. And that was why he had been hurting himself.

He was impotent now.

How many impotent werewolves have you ever heard of?

The answer was ZERO.

Vincent couldn’t help but clench his fists again. Some of the healed wounds on the back of his hand burst out. The blood almost splashed on Samuel’s face.

The young man yelled, “Hey! Take it easy!”

He quickly cleaned the blood, applied medicine to Vincent’s hand, and dressed it.

After it was done, Samuel put everything back into the kit and asked Vincent again, “If you don’t want to reject her, could you at least tell me what you have been fighting for? Let me help! Mrs. Mead told me you are scaring Charlie.”

Charlie.

The muscles of Vincent’s face twitched again when he heard that name. He somehow disliked that weird kid just as he disliked Talia. But he knew it was indeed his kid and he should at least try not to worsen his condition.

“We won’t fight anymore,” he said after a while, in a deep, dry voice, biting his teeth. “I will find the solution.”

Samuel sighed, but nodded his head.

Ever since Vincent woke up, he had been slowly transformed into this cold-blooded, cranky person who wouldn’t even bother to speak by that crazy woman.

Samuel really hoped his big brother could find the solution, but he doubted there would be any.

He stood up from the chair, and put the kit back into the cabinet, and turned, preparing to leave the office.

When he reached the door, he hesitated and turned back.

“If you don’t mind,” he asked with uncertainty in his voice, “could you please come to the charity dinner at my college tonight? We are helping raise money for children with autism.”

Vincent frowned. After he woke up, he started to hate being around crowds, especially chattering strangers.

“You know I am busy,” he replied coldly. “If you want, I can write you a check now.”

That was an expected answer, and a bit of insulting. Still, Samuel tried his best.

“I don’t need your money,” he said. “Just try to be there, alright? It’s really important for me.”

Vincent nodded his head frigidly. Samuel then went out of the door and left.

Once the door was closed again, Vincent stood up from his chair and grabbed the edge of his office desk. Starting from yesterday, the unknown fury and grudge in his heart grew stronger than ever. He wanted to turn over the office table and trash his office. He even wanted to completely lose his mind and become an insane person.

But he knew he couldn’t lose his mind or become insane. He was the Alpha of the family. He had a pack to take care of, and a son and a wife.

He couldn’t let whatever it was beat him. He just needed some more time to find the solution to fix his relationship with Talia.

He took a deep breath to calm himself down, then turned around, and walked to the transparent window wall.

Below his feet, in front of the Group building, was a broad square paved with textured tiles. A three-layered stone fountain stood in the middle of it.

It was about 10 in the morning. Most people were already in their offices. There weren’t many people in the square.

Vincent saw a blond-haired woman standing in front of the fountain, looking up at the Group building with her head lifted.

Though without his wolf, Vincent still had an excellent vision. The distance between him and that woman was extremely far. Still, Vincent saw her face.

She was like the most beautiful woman he had ever seen, with a pair of green eyes as deep as some kind of green ocean. She was thinking about something upsetting while looking at the building. There were pains in her eyes. But the expression on her face was extremely gentle, and endearing, almost sacred.

At that moment, Vincent felt like his heart was being shot.

From that distance, there was no way she could see him, but somehow, he felt that it was fate that brought her here.

He instantly turned and ran out of his office. The elevator was stuck on the third floor. It wouldn’t come up. Vincent ran downstairs all the way and rushed into the square.

On his way, his work staff, the passersby on the square all cast him weird looks, as now he looked like a completely crazy person. His hair was disheveled; his suit was crumpled; his tie was loosened, and he was panting severely and sweating.

He stopped in front of the fountain, and turned, looking around, and around, and around. But she wasn’t there anymore.

She had already left when he was running down the stairs and the air where she had just been was so smooth and soothing.

Hadn’t he lost his wolf, he would have smelt the heavenly scent of his mate, but he had. Still, he felt so happy and peaceful just being where she had just been.

At that moment, there was no hate and grudge in Vincent’s heart anymore. He returned to that happy, warm-hearted person.

He huffed out several relieved laughter, panting, stepped back, and sat down on the edge of the foundation.

He didn’t know what had just happened or who that woman was, but she was like a puff of fresh autumn wind that blew the dark cloud hovering above his head away.

He raised his head, and looked at the sun straightforwardly, panting, laughing, like an actual crazy person, but felt happy.

After a while, when he finally calmed himself down, he felt there was something odd about his pants. He lowered his head to check and surprisingly found that he had just gotten an erection…

The wolf just kept that posture and stared at her motionlessly, responding with absolutely nothing. He didn’t even blink his eyes, as if he were in a different space where time did not exist. That nonchalant attitude infuriated Lena. She then continued, after gritting her teeth in hate. “You know what? Sacrificing yourself is not something heroic. Anyone who has the guts could do it. “Wait!”A word.It simply slipped out of Lena’s mouth. Lena had no idea what she was asking for.The pale forest had gone back to that suffocating dead silence, and she had already put the gun down. The giant wolf was getting away with its back to her. Lena suddenly said that word and waited in a trance.Thousands of times she had pictured Vincent’s wolf since she found out what he truly was. Now she had finally met it.It had glorious grey fur that was close to shining silver. And its head was tremendous, scary, and tainted with dry blood. She knew he wasn’t a monster. She shouldn’t be afraid of him. But his eyes were red. And he didn’t seem to know her. After hearing her voice, he didn’t even hold his steps but kept moving towards the deeper forest.Lena then said, still standing behind his back, watching him, and with tears streaming down the corners of her eyes.“We haven’t had dinner yet, remember? Kelly had never felt so painful in her whole life. The wounds on her throat also hurt, but it was nothing compared to stabbing a pair of scissors inside the chest. Her body went limp instantly, and she fell to the floor. She then felt Samuel tightly hold her, and heard him yelling, “Nurse!! Some help here!!!”There were hurried footsteps running towards them.Leaning against his chest, Kelly felt a tiny happiness ripple from the depths of her heart.Stabbing herself was not a smart move. It could do nothing with the man’s spell. She still had the urge to hurt Samuel, but at least now she was too weak to do so.It hurt even when she breathed. She couldn’t move her arms anymore.“Please….S…tay… away… pl…please…” She mumbled unconsciously, with her eyes closed.Samuel didn’t have the time to care about it. He quickly lifted Kelly up from the floor and then put her on the gurney the nurses had just brought close. The blood was still gushing from Kelly’s wound. Her face looked terrible. Sa

You leave Mom and Dad out of this!!! They are my parents!!!” She growled in rage.Lena stretched her smile bigger. She spent her whole life being kind and right, and considerate. Now she had finally got tired of it. Because she had just found out that being kind wouldn’t make the world a better place. The world only gets better when you get the courage and determination to eliminate what’s not kind. She then took a step forward while saying, “Remember that time when you locked me in the attic for two days when we were kids?
