LOGINdo we like sansa?
Vivian's POV Despite my back being turned to the entrance, I still heard the shuffling of the tent from where I sat. From the scent alone, I knew it was Lucien, and that had my cheeks flushing even more. Why was this any different from any other time he'd seen me naked? In this position, all he could see was my back, though, and for some reason, I intended to keep it that way. He cleared his throat, shifting around and making enough noise to announce his already overwhelming presence. "I brought you blankets." He coughed again. I glanced back to find him staring at anything but me. Or my body. "In case you got cold." I said nothing, completely speechless. Still avoiding my gaze, he bent and set the fabric in his hands on the far end of the cot. It was a ridiculous sight, seeing this large, intimidating alpha stutter over seeing a fat, naked girl. "I'll leave you to it, then," he said, already turning to leave. 'You're going to let our mate sleep outside? Seriously, Vivian? W
Lucien's POV I watched her carefully and noticed the sudden shift in her demeanor. The way her back straightened and she leaned back just enough to be out of my grasp. "It wasn't...it was an accident. I know you feel guilty for her death, however that was, but you can't bear the blame." My jaw tightened. "There was no accident. Telling me not to feel guilty would absolve me of a crime I committed. And you don't want to do that. Isn't that right, Vivian?" She seemed even more on edge now, and even as that betrayed expression on her face deepened and a burning ache spread in my chest, I knew it was for the best. The truth was out now, and I hated myself for expecting so much from her. No one deserves that kind of burden. "You can go to bed now if you want. We'll leave when you wake up." Her lips parted as if to speak, but no words came out. As I stood, her hands trailed after me, and I paused, waiting, hoping she'd stop me. Yell at me, even. Any kind of reaction that would tell
Vivian's POV I stared at him for the longest time, unsure how to make my point and force him to understand. "Lucien, let go of me." My breath was heavy, though not as much as his, which was grazing my neck with each word. "Vivian, please." His grip loosened but didn't vanish. "I'll tell you the truth. The real truth now." I whirled around, breaking free of his hold while crossing my hands over my chest. "Please, just give me a chance." My lips pursed, but the pleading look on his face broke my resolve faster than I wanted. "What did you do to these people?" His head dipped, and I sighed, turning to leave. If he wouldn't tell me, he might as well spend the night here alone, because I was so damn tired of this. My fingers were already curled around the curtain door when he spoke. "Selena went missing." I froze, unsure if I wanted to hear this or to spare myself from hearing about the woman who had stood in my place years ago. He didn't give me a choice when he continued speaki
Lucien's POV I made it to the entrance of the tent Seth had prepared for us before the cold feet settled in. From inside, I could already hear Vivian chatting with the children toying with her hair, laughing with them. The sound of her laughter left a dull ache in my chest that I couldn't seem to ignore. Once the truth was out, she'd never laugh like that near me again. "Tell us about your handsome mate!" a little girl's voice said, loud and high enough for me to hear. Vivian didn't respond for a while, but when she did, her voice didn't carry the joy it usually did when she spoke of me recently. "What would you like to know?" The kids giggled, the mischievous sound getting her laughing too. "He's so tall, and handsome, and strong! Does he beat up bad men who try to hurt you?" She laughed. "Yes, yes, he does. Quite often, really." "Bad men try to hurt you often?" the boy, whose voice I quickly recognised, asked. "Is it because you're so beautiful?" "I'm not so beautiful. If
Lucien's POV I watched, my gaze fixed on her receding back, as Vivian walked away with Sansa in front of her, not glancing back once. Even as Aeth grumbled for me to get lost if I wasn't going to help, I couldn't bring myself to growl at the blatant disrespect. Not when the one person who mattered to me now was so suddenly upset. What had that shifter told her anyway? From our little conversation, it was clear she knew something about my time along the walls of this pack. A pack whose name, I now realised, I'd never bothered to learn. All I'd known were the words Darius had told me. And almost immediately, my thirsty hunt for the return of my mate began. Only Selena hadn't been held captive, or even in this pack at all. She'd only been a pawn for him to use for his grand aim. And like a fool, I'd helped him weaken this pack enough for his army to render them either homeless or slaves. Someone tugged at the hem of my shirt. I turned, confused at first when I saw no one. "Dow
Vivian's POVI kept walking without looking back until the tent came into view.I was a terrible person. Not for being upset, since Lucien deserved to have someone kick his ass and then beat him up a bit more. No, I was a terrible person for not feeling bad for the people who had lost their home, and instead feeling bad for the man who had lied about it.Sansa's words rang in my mind, along with Lucien's refusal to either confirm or deny them.By the time I entered the tent, my whole body was a nervous wreck, unable to calm down within the short walk to get here.Lucien, on the other hand, didn't seem bothered at all.If anything, the sight of Karla and Sansa, still in the corner, pissed him off as usual."You've come to a decision, I assume?" he asked, his voice so cold I got chills.Karla must have felt it too, because she cleared her throat and ducked her head, taking a moment before facing back up. "Yes, we have.""And what would that be?" he asked, leaning forward. My throat bobb
