Chapter 26

Sebastian's POV

“What's hopping that we would be able to talk one-on-one first of all please forgive the inadequacies of my Luna. She's incredible in everything else but she does have her flaws nevertheless I love her with them all,”

We were in The rats office as he spoke about his Luna and the same way someone would speak about a rabid pets rather than a person.

If I was keeping to protocol then both him and his Luna are supposed to be behind cold bars, but the same reason I hadn't done it in the past even when I wanted to was the same why they were still moving freely.

It wasn't good enough.

Sure I could through them behind bars for some vague offense.

But Gray moon was a pack with well established ties, their ancestors were not as foul as them. In fact they were people that had made their contributions to the werewolf community things that could not be brushed off connections that could not be ignored.

Damien’s POVWhen the light returned to normal, Celeste's eyes weren't as they should be. Her eyes were no longer golden as it has been. They've become storm blue. I recognise those eyes. I can't possibly forget those storm blue eyes from seven years ago that always stare at me whenever I keep late nights, and whenever I come back home from hanging out with Taylor. Those eyes from seven years ago that always stare at me, waiting patiently for me to accept her as my mate finally. I couldn't accept her because of Taylor. Those eyes I betrayed. Those eyes I rejected. The eyes that looked at me when she was being humiliated in the council, and the entire pack was present. The eyes that looked at me to defend her and to trust her. Those eyes that looked teary when I framed her. Those eyes only belonged to…“Astrid,” I whispered The name fell both like a prayer and also like a curse.“You finally see me,” she said. The pendant that hid her proper form had entirely melted into her skin

My father says it's destiny, but this is clearly cruelty. There might be a way to end this before death seals it, but then that could mean killing my father or killing the moon goddess’s vessel—that is, killing Astrid, the woman I have come to Love.My father wants me to ensure that Astrud fulfills Destiny, as he

Damien's POV Tonight, Greymoon feels different. Greymoon, which was once the pride and envy of other packs and territories, now echoes on debts. The council no longer answered me. I felt my pack members distant. I couldn't feel the pack pulse in the back of my mind. My bond of spirit and scent has gone quiet I managed to convince myself that this was happening because of the loss of business and trade by the pack. But then the council summoning came in stamped with the mark of judgment. Then I knew their silence meant worsted. The council was abandoning me in critical moments where I needed them the most. Times when we need to fight together as a pack. The council has turned its back on me, and now the only person I have left is Celeste. The woman who has always been with me and managed to calm every storm rising within the pack. The council's summons states that the council will take my Apha title by the next moon if I cannot repay what I owe. The moon has been bleeding for seven nights. Each night, it becomes darker, with less moonlight and more wind. The guards guarding my father's Throne room avoided my look, fear clearly written all over their faces. I heard my Father's voice from the hallway and went straight to him in the throne room. The throne — that's where rituals and rites take place. That's where gods are made and broken. There stood my father—the Alpha of Alphas. Blood flashed on his hand, tracing ancient words across the ancient stones. At the altar lay a vial filled with blood to the brim—Astrid’s blood. Her curse won her pain. “Is this what you call this!? “Slaughtering fate in the name of loyalty and duty?” My father, the Alpha, smiled “You sound so much like her, your mother. Be careful, son, lest you end up like her. But I know, my son, you would choose wisely to avoid the consequences of making the wrong choice.” I froze at the spot I stood. My father barely spoke about my mother after

Sebastian POVLate at night, when Astrid drifted into a restless sleep shortly after, I found myself watching her closely, listening to her breath, and every bit of sound she made broke me I wanted to protect her, save her, and stop her. I tried to tell her everything about the curse, but my father's commanding and cold words echoed in my head. “She is the key, Sebastian. When the curse fully awakens, she will tear open the veil. Through her pain, I shall rise as the Alpha God, and we will control all the power of the werewolves. I had promised to obey and carry out my duties as the Alpha prince. The moon shone lightly, with a scar—a scar caused by Astrid’s pain. Even the universe could feel something terrible is about to unfold upon Greymoon.Astrid stood at the end of the balcony, her gown glowing faintly under the moonlight. Behind Sebastian stood watching her silently He said nothing; he only observed that was what he always did —observe her every move and do nothing. There were times Astrid even forgot that he was there. His gaze was always on her, the look that saw more than she wanted him to see. The kind that made her feel serene, and most times the kind that made her forget the sorrows in her heart. But lately, he has been distant and off. Having a cold foot in the revenge plans, something’s not right; she can feel it, but he keeps waving it off, saying it was nothing and that it was just a pack issue, which will be sorted sooner or later. He didn’t tell Astrid that her Anger and pain were awakening something Ancient from centuries ago—A moon spirit bound to her bloo
