Aurora got scared and hid under the table from what was happening around her. There was snarling, gashing of teeth, and crying. All she could do was cover her ears to block the sounds out. She was defenseless against it all and dread the faith that awaited her.

When the place got quiet, she peeked out from under the blue tablecloth, a hand dragged her out and she screamed as loud as her lungs would allow her.

‘’Let me go, please. I’ll do anything,’’ she begged.

‘’Relax,’’ a gruff voice said. ‘’You are my Luna; I don’t wish to hurt you and no-one else will ever hurt you again. I won’t allow it.’’

Aurora opened her eyes to look at her mate but became frightful at his look.

He wasn’t like any other shifters she ever saw. Unlike those in her pack, the members of the Blood Moon pack were still human, or at least half-human. They had morphed their human face with their beast's face.

It was hard for her to describe what they looked like, but either way; she had never seen any werewolves she had come across do something like that before.

‘’They do you look like that?’’ Aurora asked, backing away from Kyro.

Kyro shifted back to his human self but remained with a firm grip on Aurora so she didn’t run. ‘’I will tell you more once we leave this place. I see that I also have other things to explain to you as well.’’

Aurora shook her head. ‘’Who said I want to go anywhere with you.’’

‘’Would you rather stay here and continue to be abused then? I’m sure that after this event, you even more hated.’’

‘’But I thought you were going to punish Alpha.’’

Kyro made a sound at the back of his throat that caused Aurora to back up even more.

‘’He needs to be punished for his crime.’’

Aurora looked down at the two bodies close to her. ‘’How do I know that you won’t treat me as badly as they did if I come with you?’’

‘’It is against the law to treat a pack member so lowly, not even the Omega in my pack his shitted on like this and if I should mistreat you, my Luna, then I’ll be punished.’’

Aurora shook her head. ‘’I just can’t.’’

Lilly suddenly jumped on Aurora and sank her teeth into the side of her neck. The last thing Aurora heard was Jacob yelling his mate’s name.

Aurora woke up. She felt warm, and there was an arm thrown over her middle.

She looked around, but the yellow painted room was unfamiliar to her. Just the scent of her mate gave her a sense of home, but that also brought back memories of the day’s event.

Aurora tried to move, but Kyro’s arm was too heavy and seemed to be pressing her into the bed even more.

She cramped her neck to the left, but pain erupted, and she cried out.

There was a groan and Kyro’s eyes opened, having a faraway look as he stared at Aurora.

‘’Please let me go,’’ she begged, trying to pull away from him.

Kyro growled, pulling her even closer. ‘’I can’t do that.’’

‘’Please don’t hurt me then.’’

‘’I will never lay a finger on you, unless it is to give your body pleasure.’’

She shivered at that word, not because it sounded promising but because it was the word Jacob used before touching her body and talking advantage of her.

‘’I can’t be here.’’

‘’what do you mean? You are a member of this pack.’’

‘’Only because I’m your Luna, and I’m sure there must be a female who will object to that. Even so, you must have your eyes on other females that are better looking than me.’’

‘’I don’t know how they did things in your old pack, and I don’t care, but with us, things are much different.’’

‘’But I belong to Moon Creek.’’

Kyro closed his eyes. ‘’You don’t. You never did. You have Blood Moon blood coursing through your veins. And even if not so, I am the Alpha, your mate, so you have to stay here.’’

‘’That is impossible. I can’t be a Blood Moon wolf.’’ Aurora yelled.

‘’Do you know who your parents are?’’ Kyro asked.

‘’I don’t, but how can I be from this pack?’’

‘’I see that you have a lot to learn, but don’t worry. I will guide you along the way.’’

‘’But I don’t want to be here.’’

Kyro rolled on his back and threw his arm over his face. ‘’Fine, you are free to go then, but just know that once you leave, I won’t be able to protect you.’’

‘’Fine, I don’t care. It’s not like I had anyone to protect me. I was lonely all my life.’’ Aurora got off the bed and stumbled.

‘’You are unwell, at least stay until you get your strength back.’’

Aurora grumbled. ‘’I want to leave now, and to make sure that you will never come after me again, I want you to reject me.’’

Kyro sat up in bed to give Aurora a stern look. ‘’You don’t mean that.’’

‘’I do.’’

‘’I won’t do it.’’

‘’Fine, then I Aurora of the Moon Creek pack reject you Kyro-‘’

Kyro roared out, causing her to stop. He then threw off the covers and got off the bed, then took slow steps towards her.

‘’You are my Luna, my mate. You are mine and there will be no rejection of any sort.’’

‘’But-‘’

‘’There are no buts, no objection to our bond.’’

Aurora stepped back.

‘’The only reason I am not placing my mark on you is because I sense that you haven’t undergone the shift as yet and my bite will have some serious effect on you.’’

‘’Kyro…’’

‘’Aurora,’’ he said back.

She desperately wanted to get away from him, but knew there was no way she could.

"You are mine!" Kyro’s eyes went golden for a brief second, and Aurora whimpered.

‘’But I’m ugly.’’ Aurora held her head down, ashamed that he would see all her scars and how broken she truly was. Not just physically, but mentally and emotionally.

‘’Why do you even want me?’’ She still didn’t look at him.

‘’You are the most beautiful she-wolf I have ever laid eyes on. Everything about you is appealing to me.’’ Kyro left her head.

‘’And I’m worthless. Just kill me. Kill me, quick. Do to me how you did to Alpha and the others. You don’t want me as your burden, and I’ll finally be at peace.’’

"Why would I want to kill you? You are my mate, I love you," Kyro placed her palm over his heart. ‘’I haven’t had a heartbeat in so long. You have awakened me, Luna.’’

‘’Stop calling me that!’’ Aurora yelled. She tried to hide her tears, but they rolled down her cheeks.

‘’What have they done to you?’’ Kyro shook his head. He had rescued a female once before, but she wasn’t this broken and abused.

Kyro growled and Aurora made a noise that sounded like a trapped animal.

‘’I am glad that I didn’t kill that damn, Alpha. Marcus will pay for this. I will make sure the punishment he receives is a thousand times worse than what he had ever done to you.’’

‘’He’s alive?’’

‘’Don’t worry, he can’t hurt you. Not anymore,’’ Kyro tried to assure her after sensing her fright. ‘’I should've been there sooner, should have been there to take you away from them so you didn’t have to suffer so much.’’

There was a knock on the door before it swung open.

"Alpha Kyro? I need to speak with you." A male entered the room. He looked over at Aurora and smiled.

"Hello, Luna." He said quietly.

"Do I have to address this now?" Mitch asked.

"It is about what happened two days ago,’’ the man said.

Kyro kissed her on the forehead before leaving. Aurora fainted. The kiss was a spell he used so she wouldn’t run away or tried to harm herself.

"My beautiful, you made your back to us,’’ a woman smiled.

‘’Who are you?’’ Aurora asked, but deep down she knew who she was.

‘’I think you already know.’’

‘’Mom?’’

‘’You need to trust your Alpha.’’

‘’What? But Marcus wasn’t kind to me.’’

‘’I am not talking about that good-for-nothing scumbag. Your mate, he will protect you and teach you our ways.’’

The dream soon shifted, and Aurora was now sitting beside a woman with long, white hair. Her skin was glowing and when she looked at her, Aurora could see galaxies being created and destroyed in them.

‘’The Moon Goddess, you are real?’’

‘’Of course I am. Who do you think created you?’’

‘’And who created you?’’ Aurora asked.

The Moon Goddess laughed.

‘’You have been sheltered and treated so badly; I should punish those former pack members of yours.’’

‘’How could you allow something like this to happen to me? You were watching the entire time and did nothing. I thought you were to watch over us and protect us.’’

‘’Everything happens for a reason.’’

‘’And if I had died, would that have been for a reason? I have done nothing, but still I was battered.’’

‘’for that I am sorry.’’ The Moon Goddess pressed her thumb against Aurora’s forehead, and a blinding bright light caused her to squeeze her eyes shut.

The light seemed to have some effect on her, because she could also feel her body burning up.

‘’There, what was once lost is now restored.’’
