Aurora woke up, trying to make sense of her dream. She had no idea what the Moon Goddess had restored and what her mother was talking about being thought her way by Kyro.

Then she remembered Kyro told her she was a Blood Moon wolf.

Aurora looked at her hands. ‘’But how can this be?’’

She didn’t see herself as one of those powerful wolves, and as far as she knew, her parents were omegas and killed by those rogues that entered their home on her eighth birthday.

Aurora climbed out of bed and went to listen at the door. After not hearing anyone, she walked out and made her way down the stairs. She tried to be as quiet as possible and held onto the banister for support.

For some reason, she felt weak and there was a pain in her stomach.

After reaching the last step, Aurora looked around and took in her surroundings. She was afraid of getting in trouble. She usually didn’t walk around freely in Marcus’ house or come out of her room unless told to.

Even though Kyro had told her she was safe, she doubted she really was.

Aurora walked around, just going in a random direction.

“Hello, Luna.’’ A woman passed and nodded at her.

‘’Hey,’’ Aurora said timidly, and hurried into a room.

She looked around and saw that it was the kitchen. Her stomach grumbled, and she remembered that she hadn’t eaten in three days. So, she set out to make a meal for herself.

But it was not like back at Moon Creek. She had no idea of where anything was. The kitchen was much larger than what she was used to, and she had no sense of direction there.

All Aurora could do was look around at the stainless-steel appliances, marble counters and the refrigerator that had a screen on it.

There was a sound. Aurora tried to see what it was, but her view was blocked by a wall.

‘’I can’t believe that she is here!’’

The loud voice raised fright in Aurora, and the first thing she thought of doing was to find a way to escape.

She hurried from the kitchen and ran in the direction she hoped to be the front door. She was right, but sadly; she saw several large locks on the door and knew she was trapped.

She tried to hurry back in the direction she came from but bumped into someone’s back. Aurora immediately dropped to her knees, with her top half lowering to the ground in a bow.

‘’I am so sorry, please forgive me!’’ Aurora begged.

The female, who had a short pixie cut hair style, turned to look down at her.

‘’Oh no, please don’t do that.’’ She placed a hand on Aurora’s shoulder, but she jumped and yelped out.

‘’I won’t hurt you,’’ the female then stood straight and held her hands up. ‘’Please get up.’’

Aurora was shocked at those words; no-one had ever said the word please to her before. In fact, she never had anyone extend common curtesy to her before until now.

She lifted her upper body so she could look at the female.

Her eyes widen after coming face to face with such a beautiful person. She was dressed simply, in a pair of black jeans and a white long-sleeved blouse that hugged her perfect body. Even though what she wore was so casual, she still looked elegant in Aurora’s eyes.

Because once again, this was something she wasn’t used to. No-one from Moon Creek ever dressed up. Mostly before they couldn’t afford to, but yet, she was still the lowest of them in rags.

‘’You are so beautiful,’’ Aurora said without realizing it.

The female smiled widely. ‘’Damn, what a compliment. Wish I could have recorded that so everyone could hear.’’

Aurora found that odd, because only a blind person could see the female’s beauty. She soon wondered if no-one had ever told her that she was beautiful before.

‘’I am guessing that you are Aurora, a beautiful name for an equally beautiful girl.’’ She smiled kindly at Aurora, who blushed and hid her face.

‘’My name is Jade; I am Kyro’s older sister.’’

‘’I thought only the eldest child of the Alpha became Alpha after the power is passed down to them.’’

Jade shook her head. ‘’No, the Moon Goddess chooses who she wants to lead over a pack. She grants them with special powers to carry out these tasks.’’

‘’Oh,’’ Aurora nodded.

Suddenly, Jade screamed, and Aurora scrambled back.

‘’Sorry, but I’m so excited. I am finally meeting my brother’s mate and our Luna, and my sister.’’

‘’Sister?’’ The words seemed foreign to Aurora.

Jade gave another scream and before Aurora knew it, she was being dragged from off the floor and embraced into a hug. Again, something that was strange to her. She couldn’t remember the last time she was hugged, no matter how hard she tried.

Jade gave her one last tight hug before loosening her grip and taking a step back.

‘’Sorry, but all this is new to me, and I don’t know if I should be talking to you.’’

‘’What?’’

‘’My old pack. I wasn’t allowed to interact with anyone. In fact, I was told to not look them in the eyes because it was against the rules.’’

‘’Who the fuck told you that?’’ The note in Jade’s voice made Aurora step back.

‘’Alpha.’’

‘’Alpha? Who is Alpha? Don’t tell me that some idiot named himself Alpha.’’

‘’Alpha Marcus, I was also told to only address him as Alpha or master.’’

‘’What fucking pack were you in? That sound as if you were a slave.’’

‘’I wasn’t but, I am grateful for Alpha. He took me in when no0one else would and gave me life again. In other packs, I would have been dead already.’’

Jade shook her head, thinking about how brainwashed Aurora was.

‘’What’s the name of your previous pack?’’

‘’Moon Creek,’’ Aurora told her.

Jade gave a little laugh. ‘’Sorry, but that low grade pack.’’

‘’What do you mean?’’

‘’I mean, Moon Creek is the weakest pack there is. I am surprised no rogues have taken them out as yet. They don’t even have an elemental in the pack to keep them safe.’’

Aurora stared at Jade, not believing her words.

‘’This can’t be. I was rescued from rogues and their new Luna is an elemental.’’

Jade made a face, then rested a hand on Aurora’s cheek. Her eyes glowed for a brief second. She dropped her hand and shook her head.

‘’I see now. Kyro has his work cut out for him.’’

‘’What do you mean?’’

‘’I think my brother is the one who should explain things to you.’’

‘’Because I am actually a Blood Moon wolf?’’

‘’That is a part of it, but there is much more.’’

Aurora’s stomach grumbled, and Jade gave a weird smile. ‘’Seems as if you are hungry. Come, let me feed you.’’

Aurora stepped back, but her back hit a wall, and there was no escaping. She didn’t like the look on Jade’s face or the way she said she wanted to feed her.

Jade picked Aurora up easily and brother her to the kitchen, then set her down on the counter.

‘’What would you like?’’

Aurora shrugged.

‘’Well, I guess you can have anything.’’

Jade moved around the kitchen, busying herself with making food and humming to herself as she did.

The smell of whatever Jade was making made Aurora’s mouth water and her stomach to grumble and hurt more.

Aurora closed the pot and moved closer to Aurora.

‘’So, new sister. Tell me about yourself.’’

Aurora froze, because really, what could she tell her? She knew nothing of the world, and this was the first time she had experienced true kindness, apart from Amelia.

‘’There is nothing to say.’’

‘’Ok, what about your old pack? I’m sure life there must have been interesting.’’

‘’Sorry, but this will only bring back bad memories.’’

‘’It’s ok.’’

Aurora could tell that she had more to ask.

‘’Where are your parents?’’

‘’Dead. I thought I told you this.’’

‘’Hmm, I guess one of us is suffering from memory loss.’’

‘’Any other family?’’

‘’An aunt, but she doesn’t like me.’’

‘’I am so glad you are no longer in that place. I hope Kyro gives those wolves the punishment they deserve.’’

Jade shook her head. ‘’Anyway, eat up.’’

Aurora dug into the steak and eggs Jade had made. All the while she ate, tears streamed down her face. She wiped her tears away with the back of her hand and reached for the glass of cherry juice.

When she opened her eyes, she saw Jade staring at her.

‘’What were they really doing to you over there? It seems as if you haven’t had a meal in days.’’

Aurora shook her head and continued to wolf down her food, hardly chewing or tasting the meal.

When done, Jade took the plate away.

‘’Is it ok if I look around?’’

‘’Of course, this is your home now. You don’t have to ask permission to do anything.’’

Aurora left the kitchen and went to the living room. Her eyes widened, and she started to realize that her previous home could never compare to this.

It was more luxurious and bigger.

The living room had a huge flatscreen tv that took up an entire wall. There were several lazy boys, and more things Aurora didn’t know.

Soon, Aurora found herself outside in the chilly afternoon. She inhaled and indulged in the scent of the earthly scent and the scent of her mate that was mingled in the air.

‘’Holy shit,’’ Aurora let out after looking back at the pack house. It was a mansion with five stories, unlike the two stories house she was used to, plus the attic she slept in.

‘’I am really not in Moon Creek anymore.’’

Aurora walked around for a while, finding a gate to the side of the yard and going through it without a second thought.
